There is lots of interesting places to visit and many good restaurants. Pity one can only really eat one dinner per evening! It's a compact city with all sites that one may wish to visit in easy walking distance for the able and lots of public transport for those who are not. Also, they have a free bus that one waves down to take you on a trip around the city though we didn't use it.

Good restaurants and as a meat eater would recommend El boeuf a la mode. Worthwhile to visit early in the day the fresh produce market in the city center. Although not in the city center a visit to Bernardaud to see Limoge porcelain is worth it, despite the fact that, the prices are exorbitant. The countryside around the city is worth exploring with a number of small towns including close.

Being an experienced traveller around various parts of the world,I can recommend Limoges as one of my favourites. The people are very helpful, most spoke some English. Getting around is easy due to a very efficient public transport system. Many and varied eating options, bars, without getting ripped off!
Only downside to Limoges is,there is no public transport into the city,so a taxi each way (28-30 euros)
3/4 days is adequate to see the all of the major sites (the porcelain museum is a must)

Three days is about right to leisurely enjoy Limoges, which is very accessible as a pedestrian to the central area. My only comment if planning a stay would be to note that the majority of museums are closed both Tuesday and Wednesday.

You could see it in a day so two nights was perfect and although I always pass Limoges on train journeys I was pleased I stopped and gave it a look I would not go out of my way for a visit but I felt very safe and it was remarkably clean

Nice city with interesting history. we stayed a couple of days on route to our holiday destination and stayed in the North of the city good for restaurants, bars and shops. City is too big to "do" in 24 hours.
Probably one of the best places I stayed in France. Very clean and comfortable. The host of the property, Sylvie met me at the apartment and gave me a tour of the place. She provided me with many extra items upon my arrival, brioche and home made jams etc., a few days later, homemade deserts! She even gave me a tour in a little village outside Limoges and showed me a museum of contemporary artists in the region. I would not have known if she didn't take me there. It made my visit to this town special. I will come back again!
This is an ideal place to stay en route through France. We were traveling with dogs so the nearby lake is a bonus.
We have stayed here before and had a wonderful welcome.from the friendly and helpful receptionist. The restaurant is newly furnished and the evening meal was very good with efficient staff and the chef catered for my gluten free requirements. Very good choice for breakfast too. Good parking.
Highly recommend
Great choice for that area for the price. Just know what you’re getting. It’s exactly what you’d expect from an Ibis Budget. Not super quiet. Small, basic rooms. But if you’re looking for a no thrills place to stay near the center of Limoges and crash for the night then it gets the job done. The common/eating area was unexpectedly large. And the free, round the clock street parking was a huge bonus.
I liked the location across from station and near Limoges Centre. The lounge and dining room were spacious, my room and bath/shower were good size and the bed was very comfortable. The entire hotel was spotless and the staff were approachable and met my every need. I especially liked having a passage into the neighbouring restaurante with delicious local French cuisine.
We loved the apartment-hotel concept and the entry code system of access. The facilities were excellent. I especially appreciated the Nespresso machine. Delphine was very helpful on our arrival and gave us a great suggestion for a local restaurant.
Budget but obviously recently refurbished hotel, so was clean and totally fit for purpose. The young lady on the desk was incredibly helpful even assisting us with paying the on-road parking! Perfect for an overnight travel stay for the 3 of us.
The hotel owner was super friendly and gave great advice about what to do in the area etc. The hotel is in a lovely old building and is tastefully decorated. Location is fairly quiet but within 10 minute walk of the city centre.
Best location in town close to everything and good view from the room
Excellent breakfast and friendly staff throughout our stay
Hotel is a 10 minute walk from the train station
Room was exceptionally clean and spacious
Functional room with a comfortable bed. Excellent covered parking onsite. No fuss check in. Good location within walking distance of city center and train station. Some restaurants, cafes and supermarkets close to the hotel.
Excellent breakfast, local produce, and that area of France is very good at that.
Very comfortable bedding, large bathroom, AC working well…and right by the historical district. Easy free parking on the avenue.
The hotel was in a convenient location for the autoroute, as we were driving across France. There are also some good dining options nearby - we went to the local Vietnamese restaurant, which was excellent.
Great location not far from the train station. The staff was fantastic, and the breakfast (which was included) was the best variety and presentation we’ve seen anywhere. We really liked this hotel.
Friendly staff. Great service in the restaurant with excellent attention given to my husband's nut and seafood allergies ( in contrast to our experience in other French hotels).
