Expensive yachts line the marinas here and in nearby Puerto Banús, where exotic cars outnumber sedans. It also has the best clubs, as well as designer stores and trendy seafood restaurants. Be on the look out for the celebrities that vacation here or live along the Golden Mile, home to only the most extravagant villas and Marbella hotels.
Marbella beaches stretch over 16 miles, all set against the backdrop of spectacular mountains, best viewed from a boat. It is even possible to spot a dolphin. The beaches at Puerto Banús and San Pedro Alcántara are Blue Flag beaches, while the most popular are Venus and La Fontanilla in the center of town. Artola Beach also has protected dunes.
Attractions in Marbella include 10 Dalí sculptures on Avenida del Mar, and the cobbled Old Town streets lined with colourful Andalusian-style houses. Picturesque Orange Square has sidewalk cafes under the shade of orange trees, and nearby are ruins of a Moorish castle and the 16th-century town walls.

The location was perfect. we had stayed in that complex previously and being right on the beach was brilliant The apartment was well-equipped and very comfortable. We ate more in the old town which was great. Getting around is easy- walking or cycling is the best answer.
The not so good news was communication. There was no information provided with the keys. We didn't get the password for the internet until halfway through the holiday. The agent didn't answer their phone and was very slow to respond. Most bizarrely it seems we still haven't paid! Despite card details on booking.com. The agent asked us to go to the office to pay and was not there. Said she would provide bank details and never did, I am sure there is an explanation but it is an experience we never have had before. We are still happy to pay!

I chose Marbella as we hadn't stayed there before, being furtherSouth the climate was warmer, it didn't disappoint! there were 2 days of (much needed) rain at the end.
We stayed very close to "Orange Square", a truly delightful area, full of small shops, eating places and history. There were many tourists visiting the area, (coach parties) which simply added to the vibe. We found the municipal market, great for fresh fish! We walked all around, there is the castle, parks, and beaches. Busses are cheap to get around. On our return we had a direct coach from the bus station (top of Marbella) to the airport for 6 Euros each!! Plenty of restaurants. Yes, a few homeless people, yes young African men selling items on street. pavements

Marbella is beautiful, romantic city, with old town in heart of it. All is covered with flowers and has flamenco feeling all over it. I will always remember it as a unique city with strong history and amazing views on Dali's sculptures and wide beautiful beaches.

We stayed in the old town great spot for a short break, we loved Marbella but wouldn't want to visit in high season. Avoid the really touristy tapas bars and restaurants on the main streets, tapas looks great but it is made in the morning and reheated in microwaves, go somewhere where it's made fresh by wandering around we found a lovely tapas bar in a small square Tasca de Santi in plaza Jose palomo, food and service was wonderful, but there are plenty of other little bars and restaurants you know they are good if they are full of the locals. The beach and promenade area was lovely too very clean and in in early November still warm enough for a swim in the sea.

Marbella is a beautiful beach town but considerably more expensive than nearby cities like Malaga as it is considered quite posh. If you are visiting Costa del Sol, it is a good idea to stop by Marbella to enjoy the beautiful old town but it is not a must to stay. A day trip is sufficient.
This is a charming, small hotel with excellent service provided by very nice and warm people. We used the place as base to explore Marbella and everything was fine. 10 minutes driving and you are in Marbella's Casco Viejo. The place is in a very quiet and relaxed neighborhood. It is important to point out that there are no restaurants, bars or cafes within walking distance but the hotel offers a breakfast and snacks for purchase. Overall, this place provide an excellent ratio value/cost.
Hotel is located centrally, 5 mins walk from Old Town and 10 mins walk to the beach. It is definitely a convenient location.
There is a rooftop pool with amazing view of the mountains.
Hotel price for Marbella is good, considering the hotel is in a good location and Marbella is pricey place.
Shower pressure was very good.
Room had a mini fridge and a balcony.
Staff is very kind, cheerful and helpful. Front desk men and also the man who cleaned the pool. So professional and kind.
A lovely little hotel right in the middle of the Marbella Old town next to the Orange Square. Location is brilliant and only 5 minutes pleasant walk to the beach and Marbella Port. Room was clean and a good size for our family of 3. Nice modern bathroom also clean and spacious with good shower. As it is in the old town, do not expect "views" (we didn't as we did our research and did not mind having views as such, we had a little balcony to stand on but were hardly in the room).
Boutique Hotel La Ciudadela Marbella was absolutely gorgeous, and the location could not have been better. The rooms are elegant and modern, yet still very comfortable and welcoming. Looking out our windows onto the flowering trees felt like being in a fairytale. We could not have been more pleased. We did not want to leave! As a family of five, we booked two rooms, and the hotel was able to accommodate us by placing them directly across from each other. Much appreciated!
Wow what can I say!!!! This place really took our breath away. Each room was so spacious and felt like a luxury home from home. The living quarters and kitchen were so comfy and had every amenity. The pool and the bbq area was like being In a luxury hotel. Some really nice restaurants close by but is only a short taxi to Puerto Banus or Marbella old town. Would definitely recommend for any age or group or family. We are already planning on going back next year ;)
The hotel is within walking distance to a variety of restaurants and shops where my husband and I had some of the best sushi we’ve had since moving to Spain four years ago. We only spent one night as we were in town for a concert. The two reception staff that we encountered were both friendly, helpful and professional and, as a plus, English speaking. The air conditioning functioned and the bed was large and comfy. We had a great night.
The hotel staff are lovely, polite and so friendly.
The hotel is also very nice but could do with a refurbishment. The pool and beach areas seem dated. The furniture is not luxurious and doesn’t feel like a 5 star compared to other Marbella hotels.
It’s spacious and relaxing and the food selection is very good.
It’s at least 15-20 mins drive from central Marbella so either rent a car or taxis are needed at 25 euros each way
The location couldn’t be much better, right on the beachfront. There are loads of restaurants to choose that are yards away and the lively bars are only 5 minute walk away as-well. 10 minute €10 taxi to Puerto Banus and 10/15 minute walk to the old town.
The hotel and room itself were clean and pretty modern, nothing too fancy but all the basics were there. Very good for the price.
Beautifully decorated hotel in the middle of the charming old town of Marbella. Wonderful and delicious both cooked and buffet breakfast. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed one night with live music and an extremely good singer and very exceptional creative cocktails. Would definitely come back.
I had a very nice stay. check in was fast and my room was ready upon my arrival. I was invited to a welcome drink which i found very nice and different ,a touch of class. I was treated as i was check in in a 5 star hotel. The room was clean and quite big another great surprise. The bed was very comfortable.
The hotel was in a good location, equidistant from Marbella and Puerto Banús. The hotel and rooms were kept very clean and they have good facilities overall. The hotel were very thoughtful in leaving a lovely birthday surprised for my partner in our room on his birthday, it was a very thoughtful gesture!
the location is great, after crossing the (main road) you walk down to the paseo marítimo and can either walk into Marbella or Puerto Banus. I don’t know if bikes are available to rent at the hotel. Very clean well equipped rooms a lovely restaurant, excellent breakfast and a wonderful, helpful staff.
The apartment is in a complex right on the beach. Quiet location, confortable mattress and fresh sheets. The apartment has a big patio where you can chill at night. Is close to Marbella like 10 minutes. We was offered late check out and we found free parking there. I would come again.
Wonderful location a short walk to the old town and right on the beachfront with a wonderful promenade right into puerto banus. Hotel facilities were excellent, beautiful pool and beach club, gym, spa, rooftop bar. All of the staff I interacted with were excellent.
The hotel was beautiful with a great view of the Mediterranean Sea. The rooms were 5 star!!! Beautiful location, beautiful room, beautiful hotel, great pool, we could walk to Puerto Banus easily for lots of good food options plus the yachts.. amazing!!!
Excellent location on the best part of the Marbella beach. Beautiful “ Mediterranean village style” architecture set in a pretty tropical mature garden. Lots of very good restaurants. Spacious rooms. Efficient, polite staff.
Hardrock is beautiful, Staff members are helpful, and the Location is perfect . It’s within walking distance from the port and the best gym in Spain Real club padel.
Hotel right in an old town of Marbella, arrived late at night and were surprised by the little streets, where you can wonder around and enjoy the old town vibe.
