FAQs about hotels in Cádiz

Spain’s Oldest Jewel

Cádiz might be a small strip of land, but being the oldest inhabited city in Spain, it means that it’s covered with monuments from different ages and cultures. Beautiful sandy beaches kissed by crystalline waters are also part of its magic, while you won’t be able to forget that you’re in Andalusia, land of music and passion.

Founded by Phoenicians, it had Greek, Roman, Arab and Visigoth influence, and the Age of Discoveries reclaimed its fame as port city. It became a cosmopolitan centre of commerce, enriching a heritage still visible in its historic centre. Don’t miss its narrow streets, colourful squares, the Roman theatre, and the imposing and eclectic Cathedral. Some of the most unique hotels in Cádiz are located in the Old Town.

The newer districts include wide avenues and contemporary buildings. These are the areas of Cádiz with a larger offering of modern hotels on the beach and apartments for rent. Restaurants and cafés serving great local, Andalusian and Spanish specialities are also easy to find.

The railway stations of Estadio, Segunda Aguada, and Central link the city with the rest of the country, while the nearby Jerez Airport is 47 km away. If thinking of visiting southern Spain, check out the Cádiz accommodation deals on Booking.com!

We loved the Convento Hotel as it was centrally located and made visiting attractions, restaurants and beaches very easy for us. The atmosphere in the city on Thursday 11th. of April was electric with the arrival of 3 cruise ships . We met some of the said participants who were only too willing to share their experiences. This made our road trip to Cadiz even more memorable, We enjoyed eating at La Chanca restaurant right beside the hotel so much, we went back a second night. Cadiz is well worth a visit.

There is not much to do or see in Cadiz, but if you're the kind of traveler that likes strolling down the street and find hidden gems, this is the place for you! It has a lovely atmosphere, spontaneous flamenco singing (closer to the flamenco school), nice beaches and super friendly people. you can totally skip the museum, and if you go to the cathedral, don't forget to climb up the tower. The view is fantastic! Also, if you're a vegetarian, better bring some food from home.

It is a city full of history, music and character, though often bypassed by visitors to Andalucia in favour of the Big Three - Seville, Granada and Cordoba. There are many great places to eat and drink, catering for all tastes, the locals are really friendly and helpful, and the beaches are fantastic. It's a good idea to leave the beaten tourist track around the cathedral, and wander through the narrow streets of the old town- It doesn't matter if you get lost as eventually you will reach the seafront and get your bearings.

We used the Voicemap Audio guide for Cádiz (just Google it). The entire circuit for the audio-guided tour spans just over 5 and a half kilometers, or about 3 and a half miles, perfect for a full morning or afternoon activity lasting around 3 to 4 hours. This includes visits to noteworthy monuments and stops for rest and tapas. Highly recommended! Cádiz is a fantastic small city to visit.

Open top bus tour great (economical way to get to our hotel too). Came with a guided walking tour so we got to see some parts we would have missed otherwise. Tourist information has maps with a great selection of self-guided walks. Very interesting and historical city. Two days was enough for us but, in warmer weather, could happily have stayed longer and enjoyed the beach more.

The apartment was in an ideal location in this wonderful city. Very stylish with original exposed Cadiz brick walls Amazing air conditioning and shower. Best sleep I’ve ever had in any apartment or hotel - was so comfortable. Plus a lovely private and sunny terrace ( and shower) which we used most days in the late afternoon . Although located near to two bars the apartment was sound proof when windows were closed. Staff were very helpful and responded quickly to a few issues we had on arrival ,Highly recommend.

I liked how you could be in contact with the hotel through Whatsapp. The location of the room, called "the attic" was on the 4th floor beside the pool. At 10pm, you could close and lock the public access to the pool and just have it for your use. It was also possible to get fresh towels, plus there was access to a washing machine on the second floor. The property was well located in the old part of Cadiz city, with lots of places within walking distance for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

When we arrived the staff at the front desk was very friendly and offered us water and little bites to eat. She also gave us a map of the city and explained the city and attractions in the city. She made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. The building is beautiful and the rooms and beds are comfortable. The hotel is centrally located so once we parked the car we walked everywhere from there.

Very nice aprthotel. Thanks for the invested job! Parking is not far, if needed. A short walk away. Real city center apartment for exploring Cadiz and the beachfront promenade and all the tourism objects. The apartment offers all the needed things. The roof terrace we enjoyed really, especially at the sunset. We used also the laundry room which has the washing machines and the dryers.

The location was great. Walked to the central market for lunch, it was buzzing. At night there was lots of display lights of different configurations throughout the city. The port was closeby with 2 cruise ships berthed. The beach was walking distance also. Our bicycles we stored in the bar area. A great cyclist hotel. The bus trip from Ronda to Cadiz was scenic, too steep to ride

The breakfast was very good and there was a big variety. The old town is about 25 minute-walk from the hotel; so if you like walking, you can do that along the beach promenade.
