The location is off the Camino road, but owner pick up and drop us off at the San Paio de Sabuguera church in Lavacolla, a location on the Camino road with several cafes/restaurants around, about 900 m away. It is a quiet place with a chapel and garden at the back with chairs and table, perfect for a rest after walking. Owner is friendly and has good knowledge about Camino and surrounding. Dinner and breakfast are delicious.
This hotel is a bit of an off choice for pilgrims as it's not really on the camino, however, the rooms and facilities are a nice break from the standard albergues and hostels. My room was on the top floor and was absolutely huge. A true luxury to be able to spread out my meager belongings and fully repack everything for the final walk into Santiago. The tub was amazing and the room was cool and dark.
On the entrance to Lavacolla, this modern house has great facilities for pilgrims looking for rooms to rest up before the last 10km into Santiago. There is a lovely village just a few hundred meters away and places to eat and drink as well as an interesting Galician village. Our room was new and had great bathroom facilities. Large kitchen area with free tea and coffee.
We selected this hotel because of its proximity to the Santiago de Compostela airport. It is actually within walking distance, and they offer a shuttle.
The room we had was large, airy - comfortable, but not remarkable. It was a place to stay at the end of a trip, not a destination.
One a positive note, we found the restaurant to be quite good - unexpectedly so.
This was an unexpected pleasure. The hotel has rooms that are like little suites around a courtyard. The main building has a restaurant for lunch and another, much fancier, restaurant for dinner. Very good food -- quite a bit higher level than most of the restaurants we encountered on the Camino. But also more expensive.
It is very close to the airport, you can almost walk and yet it is beautifully quiet and country side like. The pilgrims of the camino walk right passed it which gives it a wonderful vibe. The host was so welcoming and accommodating, A great little hotel to stay when arriving or departing from the airport.
I stayed at this hotel on a stormy, wet, and cold day. The hotel room was comfortable, but sort of strange. The 'desk' is only staffed periodicly, so I had to call someone to checkin. There is a bar/cafe across the street, that is friendly and the food was not bad.
It was spotlessly clean. it was close to the bus stop to Santiago- take the 6A to lavacolla from galicia square, 1 euro. the bar across the street had typical spanish food. its right in the camino. it cost 10 euros to get a taxi in the morning to the airport.
We walked the Camino through Lavacolla. A Concha was very close to the Camino. It is right above a restaurant. The staff let me know where to find laundry facilities. The staff was pleasant.
We were picked up from the airport by hotel transport late at night which was very helpful.
The receptionist in the morning was very helpful with information about bus transport times.
The Hotel is very Upscale. The spacious bedroom included a sofa, desk and beautifully appointed furnishings and drapery. Large en-suite bathroom with new, stylish fixtures and bidet.
Very beautiful historical hotel. Lovely grounds with chapel. Food was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. Slightly off Camino but easy to rejoin route for last 10km to Santiago.
Ideal for the airport. Took about 30mins walk. Comfy room. Tea making facilities would have been nice. 30 min bus to Santiago centre. Bus stop right outside hotel.
