Nice place within walking distance of everything in Los Llanos. Clean and well stocked for cooking. Free electric car charging would be great if you come with an electric car.
Tazacorte is perfectly placed for exploring the sunny side...
Tazacorte is perfectly placed for exploring the sunny side of the island, well away from the more commercialised east coast. It is very close to the truly awesome volcanic lava flows from the huge and famous 2021 eruption that tragically buried so many houses, agricultural businesses and livelihoods. You can get right up onto the lava in several places within a very short drive from Tazacorte. It's also worth driving 1/2 an hour up to Mirador Astronómico del Llano del Jable for amazing views above the still smoking volcano, and to truly appreciate the massive scale of the vast river of black lava flowing down to the coast below.
The town of Tazacorte is small, quiet and sedate, but it's quite characterful, and the local authority have done a decent job in making it as attractive as possible. There is limited shopping, one very good restaurant (Re-Belle), one that's pretentious and frankly not great (El Sitio), and quite a few more basic eateries in town. There is also another very good restaurant (Franchipani) up in Los Llanos - the nearest main town a 15 minute drive away.
Puerto de Tazacorte (the port area and the nearest beach 5 minutes drive down the hill) is not so nice. Very run down and neglected and shows a total lack of investment. What is worse, there has been literally no attempt to improve or renovate the area in the 8 years since our last visit. It looks better after dark. The nightlife is fairly tame, with several basic tourist-type restaurants, but it's pleasant enough to wander round in the evening.
I wouldn't personally wish to stay down in Tazacorte Puerto. The Hacienda de Abajo up the hill in Tazacorte is the only good hotel in the area, and that really is something very special (see reviews).

Nice and small city with everything someone might need.
Nice and small city with everything someone might need. Enough pubs, some openly LGBTQ+ friendly, several easy to access beaches, nice banana plantation museum close by, restaurants, a couple decent supermarkets and convenience shops right there. Easy access to the only naturist beach in La Palma, and it is a charming and big one too. If that is your thing – you cannot go wrong with staying in Tazacorte. Easy access to Los Llanos and from here to the rest of the island with many hiking paths and countless places with views.

A lovely little town with attractive streets of traditional houses. A busy cafe on the main square outside the supermarket. The banana museum was surprisingly interesting. The drive down to the port and beach should be 5 minutes, but is slow due to roadworks. We went on an excellent whale watching trip from the port. Lots of beautiful places around to visit, though you can't go south at the moment because of the larva flow.

Tazacort is in 2 parts, the village and the beach and marina areas. There are 2 buses which link them and a walk of about 20 minutes downhill from the village but quite a steep haul back up. The buses are only every hour and not terribly punctual.
The village is unspoiled and typically spanish, the playa area has lots of nice restaurants and bars and cafes and shops. The marina is a lovely spot to wander round and you can book boat trips for whale viewing which we recommend (but it can bee quite rough)

Small working town. A couple of shops, bars and restaurants. Pretty seafront with fantastic sunset views. Nearby beach and harbour are excellent. Safe for bathing. Dramatic scenery and year round sunshine. Not ideal for anyone with mobility issues.

Tazacorte is a small town.
Tazacorte is a small town. The pueblo has two areas and there is a lower Puerto with a harbour and a beach with excellent seafood restaurants. It is not too busy and is mainly locals and a few tourists.
Lovely quiet pool area (usually had the pool to myself) and sun on our balcony most of the day (though not for sunset). Close to centre of Tazacorte (though the road is quite steep).
We enjoyed our time here in spite of the negatives and would stay again as we had a lovely relaxing time.
Shower was hot and powerful (I don't understand the negative reviews) and bathroom was big enough for us.
The location is perfect just right in front of beach with the sea view and sunset in the evening, apartments very clean and cosy.We met owners witch they are very nice people and told us more about the La-palma how beautiful is La-Palma.Definetely will stay again. Highly recommended.
What an amazing treasure! It was the best of our stays during our trip to the Canary islands. La Palma is great overall and the house added to this experience. The location, the amenities, the aesthetics, the nature, the view of the volcano, the sky.. It's a golden choice!
Quirky, rooms all accessed from outdoor walkways.
Modern kitchen and main en-suite bedroom, traditional dining/lounge/additional bedrooms.
Good outside space with comfortable seats.
Additional kitchen space on roof terrace.
Short walk to bars/restaurants.
Exceptional friendly staff. Unique hotel experience. Extraordinarily high quality antiquity worthy of a museum in every room. Beautiful subtropical enclosed garden. Sadly spa facility were limited. Unique wine to this hotel.
Great location, clean apartment, spacious and close to all amenities. Aprox 30 minutes walk to the beach at Puerto Tazacorte.
Great views from the balcony.
Shops and bars close by.
