Beautiful courtyard setting in the centre of town.
Almería lies on the Mediterranean coast of Andalusía, overlooked by the old Moorish citadel or ‘Alcazaba’. It offers sandy beaches, rocky coves, clear waters, and the typical friendliness of southern Spain. Its urban pattern blends Moorish legacy, medieval buildings, modern architecture, and colourful narrow streets.
It was founded in the mid-10th century by the Caliph of Cordoba, and was named ‘Al-Mariy-yat’ or ‘the watchtower’, as it was part of the coastal defences of the Caliphate. After internal divisions in the Caliphate and Christian crusades, the city finally surrendered to the Catholic monarchs a few years before the first trip of Columbus. A range of hotels in Almeria’s city centre will allow you to enjoy this magic atmosphere from a close distance.
The Cathedral of St Mary of the Incarnation was originally a mosque, and was built resembling a fortress, in order to offer resistance to pirates. The nearby Gata-Nijar Cape Natural Park offers beautiful landscapes and beaches. Hotels on Almeria’s beaches are a popular choice, while a variety of accommodation is also available in the surrounding villages of Roquetas de Mar, Aguadulce, and San José.
The city is serviced by Almería Airport, a local railway station, and a bus station. Ferry services to Tunis and the Spanish enclave of Melilla are also available.

Almeria is a beautiful coastal town with a long history as a trading port on the Mediterranean. Since it is a bit outside the typical tourist destinations it is less swamped by "hordes' of visitors. Numerous sights in town and countryside to explore, e.g. castle, cathedral, promenades, parks, markets, etc. It is surrounded by the only "real" desert in Europe!

Almeria is a little unknown Spanish city. Small but it does offer an amazing foodie experience. Good weather all year around... And tapas come for free with your drink!
Apart from that, the beaches are amazing. Virgin wild beaches and coved that you can only access on foot.

The people are very nice and welcoming. If you look for a place in a city which is still not too crowded the autumn in Almería is perfect! It is necessary that you have a bike or even a car to get around.

A beautiful city… very walkable and pedestrian friendly with beautiful squares and benches everywhere. Terrific restaurants on every corner providing great value if you stick to the drink+ free tapa system. Very little English spoken… mostly Spanish tourists so that might be a slight disadvantage if you don’t speak the language. The people are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I can’t wait for my next- much longer- visit!!!

The Fort was interesting and free to enter, there seemed to be a lack of posher restaurants but we only explored a small area of centre so could be more, should have done my homework. Overall had a great break. Almeria is a very interesting city with plenty of tapas bar's and easy to get around on foot.
It was a very clean and peaceful room. The service was really nice to us. The bathroom was also very clean and it had everything that we needed. It can be closed and the temperature of the room can be regulated which is very helpful. Internet connection was very fast and stable, there were also around 6 electrical contacts. The location of this place is also very nice, nearby are two grocery shops and a beautiful park. There is no kitchen but compared to price it is one of the best places to stay in Almeria.
A very nice central hotel. the man on reception was nice, he helped us with emails, getting a coffee, and even gave us free biscuits, which was very kind. As we were in a hurry to get to the theatre which was very close. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. So very central to everything in Almeria city, including lots of shops and restaurants. We would use this good hotel again. Also the beach was just a 20 minute walk away.
The hotel is comfortable and we loved our room. The shower was fabulous. Great restaurant attached although it was pricey. We only stayed one night which didn't seem quite enough either to enjoy the hotel or to see Almeria.
Parking was handy once we identified it, although it required a short walk with luggage - we did not feel like physically moving the barrier to be able to park outside the hotel to check-in.
The hotel is with excellent location, in the heart of the historic center of Almeria. Many shops and local cafes and bars around. The room was OK, it was cleaned every day. Comfortable beds and pillows. There was a small fridge which we really appreciated. The receptionist was very helpful and efficient to solve a problem we reported.
That was a most wonderful place I have ever stayed in including 4 and 5 stars hotels! the atmosphere it’s just magical and hospitality of all members of a team is beyond any expectations! it was an utmost pleasure to meet such a wonderful individuals such as Oscar, Natalia and Hans! thank you for everything guys !!!!
From the start Lola was so nice, she showed us a map of Almeria with lots of cool activities to do, beaches to visit, good tapas restaurants and what to avoid.
She has been very available for us and the appartment was super clean and comfortable with TV, coffee, some breakfast in the fridge and a good bathroom
The location of the apartment is excellent, you can see and hear the sea from the balcony, brilliant views of the Almeria ferries departing and arriving from Morocco. The apartment has a decent fridge, freezer and cooker, the washing machine was useful for us as we were travelling round spain.
Grand Hotel in 60th style close to the harbour, a bit old fashioned but with good atmosphere. Clint Eastwood and many other holiwood stars stayed here while shooting Western movies in the desert. Great value for the price, nice pool terrace, convenient car park. Good breakfast buffet
Just in Almeria town center, close to the Cathedral, locally bar and restaurants, and best spots in town. The hotel is very quiet and comfy. Rooms are enough large to feeling like at home. Staff is very nice and helpful. The rooftop swimming pool it’s their best secret!
Location is perfect as a base to explore the city and surrounding area. The hotel room was small but clean, as was the bathroom, and the shower was good. Buffet breakfast was good. Only stayed three nights. At the upper end of budget hotels.
Car park access is a little bit sketchy. Underground parking accessed from behind the hotel into a very tight car lift. Once inside the car park is very tight. I was using a mid size SUV. I think it is similar at all hotels in Almeria.
Very nice and modern hotel in Almeria.
Easy, fast and pleasant check-in.
Very comfortable and spacious room. Spotless clean bathroom.
Excellent breakfast.
A plus: easy parking in the streets nearby.
Highly recommended!
Location excellent. Have stayed before and knew the hotel was basic at a reasonable price - so if you need somewhere to sleep and explore Almeria and the tapas bars, it fits the bill.
Great apartment with amazing sunset views over the mediterraneo!
One step outside and you are on the beach.
Good bar/cafetaria next door.
Best place to stay when you are in Almeria!
The hotel is well located.
The staff was receptive to our concerns and provided an alternate room that was more comfortable.
Food in the dinning room was good.
