El hospedaje muy acogedor, los espacios verdes, la calma dentro de la ciudad.
I had a guide for hikes around Chimborazo. I was coming from sea level, so I was limited to less than 4000m for the first couple of days (and some people experience altitude symptoms at less than that). If I had stayed longer I could have done a couple interesting hikes on Chimborazo itself - I was fine after two days here.

Come to Riobamba if you want to climb/bike on Mt.
Come to Riobamba if you want to climb/bike on Mt. Chimborazo and/or visit the markets on Saturday. The downtown is interesting, worth a few hours, but does not cater to tourists. It is a city for Ecuadorians living their lives. The markets on Saturday are amazing. They are some of the most authentic, local markets we've visited. Very little for tourists, just real stuff for real Ecuadorians. If you are interested in climbing the mountain plan on time to get use to the altitude. Riobamba is a good base camp for a few days to begin this process.

I only wanted a bed for the night to break up a long bus trip, so didn't get to see much of the town at all. I'd like to have explored the architecture, and of course the mountains around the town are very impressive.

I enjoyed my stay in Riobamba.
I enjoyed my stay in Riobamba. Closed train station was a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!! Visiting local cemetery was really something! I am writing this comment on my laptop and photos are on my phone but if you want to know more about Riobamba check my channel (Rootsless) on You Tube. Don't forget to like my channel. Thank you.

Riobamba is a good stepping off place to visit other small towns in the region. Sadly, all the churches were closed when I was there during the week I visited. This was disappointing. The city is very walkable and should you need a taxi or bus they are everywhere.

Riobamba is an attractive city that did not seem touristy.
Riobamba is an attractive city that did not seem touristy. We were very comfortable walking about downtown. The empanadas we had from a local restaurant were excellent and very inexpensive. Transportation was very easy, as taxis are everywhere and very cheap. I wouldn’t spend a week here, but we enjoyed it for a day or two, and it makes a great base for day trips in the High Sierra.
I arrived in Riobamba late. Later than the check in time. However, they were nice enough to leave me a key box and detailed instructions on how to get in. The hostel is super clean and pretty (especially for how affordable it is). I really love how spacious the room is (I stayed in a 5-bed dorm). In the morning, they helped me plan my trip to Chimborazo and called a taxi. I would've missed the morning bus to Chimborazo without their help. I would highly recommend Villa Bonita to anyone traveling here. Thank you!
The hotel is exceptionally clean. All of the furnishings, fixtures and bedding are really high quality. I loved the use of natural wood and all of the wooden statues and memorabilia on the walls. The breakfast was delicious with excellent quality coffee. The restaurant had high quality food and wine. The staff is really kind, friendly and welcoming. The hotel had really good security and a solo traveler would feel really safe here.
Its a fantastic place near by the Chimborazo Volcano and horse riding trip to hacienda cubillin i can only congratulate because its an awesome experience! The hotel and its staff excellent! Even when an event was going on at the weekend the volume was shut down at 19:00 great! Fireplaces in the rooms made our day when we came back from the horse riding tour i really recommend!!!! We will come back!!!! Great Spot!!!!!
Irma was the nicest host I had with my stay in Ecuador! Very knowledgeable with the area and very open and honest. She has friends in the industry all over Ecuador and can suggest the best tours and stays depending on where you go. The room exceeded my expectations for the rate. Hot showers in Ecuador are a hot commodity but Irma had the best shower of my whole stay in Ecuador!
Best place to stay in Riobamba. We were in the private queen room and it was a beautiful spacious room with a very very comfortable bed and large as well (compared to other queen beds we had in equator).
Breakfast is coffee, tea, yogurt, eggs, cheese, fruits and bread (you can actually make toasties which is really nice).
Staff was lovely and the open space is great.
This is an out of the way very tranquil property. If you want the big city, don’t come here. If you want a very relaxed stay in an indigenous town with extremely nice people, this is for you.
Served me dinner and breakfast for a very reasonable fee. They have a museum which is well worth it. Also sell some homemade indigenous products made the the townspeople.
Casa 1881 is very well located in Riobambas historical center, 5min by taxi from the bus terminal. The owner welcomed us warmly and was very helpful. Our room and bathroom were very big and the whole hotel is beautifully decorated. Breakfast was delicious and creative (freshly cooked veggies!). Great value for money, we would definitely stay there again!
Extraordinary stay, everything was perfect.
The hotel is super nice and decorated with many wooden sculptures.
The employees were all extremely friendly and helpful with all our requests. The breakfast was delicious and freshly prepared every day.
Additionally, the hotel has a restaurant and offers a great selection of food.
I liked the vintage look and feel of the whole place. It was like going back in time. The breakfast was delicious! Exceeded my expectations. The owner was amazing! Santiago made sure we were comfortable for our stay and accommodated us with anything that we need. The hotel has a parking which is a huge plus.
This is a nice hotel reminiscent of past times (in a good way). It's comfortable and clean, and the man on reception was really friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and so was the bathroom, and overall it was a good place for us on our one night stopover in Riobamba.
Very original museum/hotel, wonderful to snoop around. Rooms are extremely comfortable , bed like sleeping on a cloud covered with rose petals . Staff extremely courteous and helpful . Breakfast is will endowed. Clear view of Chimborazo.
Free breakfast was offered with a specified menu at the restaurant next door to the hotel. The hotel staff was very helpful with directions and other information, including helping me find the parking lot (which was two blocks away).
comfortable rooms in beautiful hotel. very friendly and helpful staff. we were grateful they kept our car in their parking space while we were hiking (at no extra charge).
The staff was very nice and helpful, they allowed us to check in early when we wanted to leave our backpacks after our arrival to Riobamba in the morning
