Here you can feel the wingbeat of history and here the many well-preserved buildings that have been spared from fires are captivating. From Assens you can take the ferry for a day trip to the picturesque island of Baagø, where you can enjoy the beautiful nature and the atmospheric marina. Assens is surrounded by a beautiful hilly landscape. The peninsula Helnæs is located about 15 km south of Assens, here you will find untouched nature, ideal if you like fishing or hiking. With a well stocked picnic basket you can also reach the beautiful island of Assens by ferry. Ideal destination for a day trip. Funen is great! Not far from the cottage you will find many sights, activities and unique nature experiences. For example, you can rent a rail bike for 3 - 4 people and experience nature at a leisurely pace. In Odense, people like to spend a day shopping, visiting museums including H.C. Andersen's house or looking around Odense Zoo.
