I've been coming to Saarlouis for years, as I play music...
I've been coming to Saarlouis for years, as I play music there regularly. The old part of town reminded me of the French Quarter of New Orleans on my first visit, tho it is a microcosm of that. Charming French architecture, and interesting history. The original fortifications from the Napoléonic wars are well preserved and worth a visit. A very multi cultural town, where you will often hear more French than German.GelonGermany - 10Scored 10
Vert nice city to visit.
Vert nice city to visit. We stayed only one night but we where lucky enough and there was a festival there, lots of people on the streets, food, drinks and live music. It was something that was not planned, we wanted to stay in Trier but couldn't find a hotel. It ended up a total surprise due to the festival there but also the city is very nice to visit A big park where you can walk and a lot of young people. Of course fire works at midnight...after that i don't remember...blame the beer :))

The apartment was very clean, the kitchen had everything needed, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was big, extremely clean and tidied, had two types of a shower and was really comfortable. The apartment has 20 minutes walk to the center of Saarlouis, which is a very peaceful walk and by a car 7-10 minutes. The town is very nice, for 35000 people I think it's a very nice town, you find the essence of German/french small towns in Saarlouis. I liked that the manager spoke English and had patience and was very polite and very helpful. I liked that the rooms had eco friendly lightsbulbs. The room was cozy and the bed really comfortable. We park in the garage where the hotel have an agreement and everything goes well. The location of the hotel is really close to the train station like 5 minutes walking and around 15 minutes walking to the downtown.
