Everything!!! Sebastian is an amazing and attentive host. Breakfast is awesome, with nearly all ingredients being locally sourced (dairy comes straight from the hotel's farm). Salento is picturesque with colorful houses and beautiful interiors, located in the mountains and with a valley that is one of the main entrances to the high "nevados". Everything in Salento is about coffee, art, nature, birds and hiking. The best time to visit Salento is outside of the high season for a truly relax experience.

The cocora valley was closed on the 2 days we were there.
The cocora valley was closed on the 2 days we were there. This was the main reason we went and due to heavy rains or something along those lines, the road was damaged and not accessible by the Willy trucks. So everyone in line was turned away and told it was closed. Salento is very salesy - Filandia is a similar vibe with all of the painted houses but a bit less sales oriented. Would have stayed in Filandia and visited Salento for the day instead.
Coffee excursion was enjoyable.

Beautiful, colorful and lively town that preserves the architecture, traditions and flair of Colombia's coffee region. The place welcomes everyone , solo travelers, couples, families, etc. It offers a good variety of activities, ranging from strolling around the town to mountain trekking, from tours at coffee farms to fine handcrafts shopping, from dining traditional dishes to international cuisine. I recommend visiting this town to everyone.

I was pleased we chose to stay in Salento rather than at an outlying hacienda. Salento was very crowded with tourists/travelers but the town plaza was our favorite place to be in the mornings/evenings. Our two favorite restaurants were Juan Esteban (on the square) and Betatown. Both had very good food and service.

A cute, colourful town near the stunning Valle de Cocora, which is the main reason to visit. The coffee tours are a bit touristy, but it’s a good vibe. Be sure to play “tejos” and have a few beers at Los Amigos.
The hotel is in a beautiful location. No restaurant on site but there is a great restaurant within 10 minutes walk. Ideally situated for walking to Santa Rita waterfall. Very relaxing following a stay in Salento. Breakfast is limited to eggs as you like them and toast but very nice. Self serve coffee is a bonus. 2 of our party went horse riding organised by the hotel which they thoroughly enjoyed. Another unexpected bonus was the crazy golf course next to the best of the restaurants at the end of the track,, it was really very good.
Best hotel in Salento!! Great value. The room was extremely clean and spacious, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, the linen was of great quality, the bathroom was big and clean, and the shower had hot water.
The hotel is very well located in a beautiful old colonial style building with dark timber fittings. There are wonderful views from the very well-looked after garden.
Breakfast was included and it was very generous and tasty. To make things even better the hosts are really nice and friendly. I would definitely go back!
My experience at Terrazas de Salento was great and very impressive. From the yard of the property you get the best view of the town, the public area of the house is pleasantly decorated, and the room is very comfortable and convenient. A lot of details are taken care of so that you feel very user-friendly. The host and all of the staffs are very hospitable and polite, plus they are really helpful to give you advice about the town and the surrounding area. The breakfast was good with a lot of options.
Terrazas de Salento is an amazing place to stay! I would easily stay again. The rooms are beautiful, very clean, with an amazing view. The staff is always super friendly and super helpful. We had booked two days with one day of gap in between as we had a long hike tour with one day of sleeping in the mountains. We could leave our backpacks in the hotel, coordination with the tour guide was smooth and when we arrived back, our room was waiting for us with our backpacks already there.
I really loved the jacuzzi, the included 30 minutes massage was so relaxing, me and my partner got an amazing experience in the hotel, Salento is a pretty good place to visit, and if I come back to Colombia, definitely I will return to Coclí, all the environment was amazing as the staff, and I really enjoyed all the time that I spent in Coclí, was a very intimate time with my partner, and I strongly recommend the author's cocktail
Everything! Lovely hotel perfectly located in Salento! Super comfy beds & the most amazing breakfast with views of the mountains! Definitely our favourite accommodation in Colombia! Very friendly staff with lots of information regarding tours and trips in the area. I also had a massage at the hotel spa, it was so good just what I needed after a few long days hiking!
It's a very nice little hotel. The owner don Fernando is kind and helpful. It's very close to the main plaza. Three blocks with a hill (we are late 60ties and had no problem with the hill). The room was clean. The breakfast was good and is a typical home cooked Colombian breakfast. A quaint little hotel. We will be back.
Pedro is a really great guy. He greets you warmly every time you run into him. I enjoyed practicing my Spanish with him while he practiced his English with me.
The location is convenient being outside the main core of Salento and also only a couple minute walk from the bus station. The dorm rooms are nice and clean.
El Mirador del Cocora was our highlight location from our travels as Valle de Cocora is simply the most beautiful place in all Colombia. The hotel is located at the top of the Salento village so you have absolutely stunning views of surrounding mountains. You can see real foothills of the might Andes from there!
Everything!!! Sebastian is an amazing and attentive host. Breakfast is awesome, with nearly all ingredients being locally sourced (dairy comes straight from the hotel's farm). The room was spacious with the porch and the view to die for! We would definitely come again to Salento and to this beautiful hacienda!
Only problem was booking site says 1.7 km and it is further to Salento.. We had planned to walk each day but that was not possible. Had to pay for taxi or uber each time. Only other concern was noisy when a guest was in the next room . Could hear every word. Other than that this hotel is delightful.
I loved the location. The hotel is a few blocks away from the main street and plaza which is great for two reasons:
- you will be away from the loud noises of that area if you wish to sleep
- Salento is so small you can easily walk to these areas and enjoy them (maybe a 5 minute walk)
Great hotel to visit Salento, and to go to the Cocora vallee for hiking!
The hotel is nice, clean and the bed are big!
There is a restaurant in the rooftop of the hotel were we had breakfast!
Few minutes from the main square and bars or restaurants!
Would definitely recommend!
This hotel exceeded our expectations! The bed was so incredibly comfy, and the staff was super nice and helpful.
The hotel location is perfect, just one block off the square, great for catching the Willys to Cocora Valley.
We’ll come back to Hotel Salento Plaza in a heartbeat.
The walking distance from the hotel to the Main Plaza was perfect. Not too close to being bothered by the tourist and not too long of a walk. It is a safe place to move around. The locals are Salento"s main asset. This hotel will add beautifully to your travel experience.
The hotel is very new and I absolutely loved the interior. Beds are comfortable and staff was super friendly. You can tell the owners have a great eye for detail. We loved to stay at Panorama Salento and would definitely stay there again.
The hotel is in an incredible location, 2 minutes walk from the main square of Salento. Pilar was lovely and we had an amazing time in el Eje Cafetero. We really liked the place!
Everything was great, the service was the best. The attention received was perfect and everyone treated us like we were family. Plus the hotel is really close to Salento.
