I was very overwhelmed (in a good way) by the vibrancy of the city. It was very clean, safe, with nice people and great weather. I had no idea what to expect but I am already thinking about when I can return!

Great city to visit surrounded by magnificent mountains.
Great city to visit surrounded by magnificent mountains. The funicular, garden on top of San Cristobal Hill, teleferico, various shopping areas can be easily accessed with hop on/hop off bus.
Did not like Santiago Airport. Not because it is big, but because comfort of passengers was not considered as its first priority when designed.

I remember when I first visited 9 years ago it seemed like a much more new, vibrant city. Might have been my younger self rather than the city but the city felt very old (not in the cool, good way) when we went this time. The pre-Colombian museum is a must visit, but other than that I wouldn’t really go back. The food scene was okay too, aside from some great spots. Other international cities I’ve been to have left me overwhelmed with options, this city did not. Also, we really wanted to take a wine tour but the prices were insanely expensive to go just an hour outside the city and operators I contacted were not responsive.

Santiago feels similar to any other major city that you would visit. It lacked the unique charm that we found on the coast in Viña del Mar.
Perhaps we didn’t stay in the right neighborhood (stayed close to the central government buildings), and the city streets cleared out by sundown—making the city feel kinda empty.
EXCELLENT museums though!

The city is crowded in the Centro area of Plaza de Armas, but that provided a lot of interesting attractions. We preferred to wander by foot instead of taxi for bus therefore we saw a lot. Be aware that the area business area closed for SIESTA. Some restaurants closed right after the lunch crowd until the next day, therefore the area are really quiet after 6 pm. Be spending time to visit the Santa Lucia Hill (a lot of uphill steps) and the Central Market where there are a lot of restaurants inside and outside. A must to linger about the street vendors with their merchandises displayed on the streets (which are everywhere in Santiago). Must visit two churches and two museums in the Plaza area (advice: the churches are perfect place to rest). Temperature was 60 to 75 in mid March 2024.

Lots of great things to do and see in Santiago.
Lots of great things to do and see in Santiago. Would recommend the pre -Colombian museum and the Memory museum. The Bellas Artes is a lovely building too.
Take the cable car or funicular to the top of Cerro San Cristobal and enjoy the views of the city - there is a huge outdoor pool halfway up so get off at that stop and enjoy a swim!
The Cerro Santa Lucia is slap bang in the middle of the city and is lovely.
Easy to get around by bus and metro.
lots of cool bars and good restaurants
The huge Bio Bio market on a weekend is worth a visit - food, antiques, plants, art - everything really
Located on a very quiet street (compared to the nearby streets) and only one short block to San Lucia Hill and 10 minutes walk to Plaza de Armas and 15 minutes to Mercado Central. Luggages can be dropped off before checkin and stored after checkout. We were cruisers, departed from ship in Valparaiso at 8 am, private van to the hotel at 10 am, dropped off luggages, walked around to visits, came back at 3 pm to checkin. Next day checked out (can be 12 noon), left baggages until came back to retrieved at 5 pm, then hotel arranged taxi to airport.
+ Check-in procedure was very efficient, I had to not fill out or sign any forms. I had the hotel room key within minutes. It beats every hotel I have visited elsewhere in Chile. On top of that they gave each guest a bottle of what which was very welcome after a long flight.
+ Location at the airport and between Terminal 1 and 2 was great and a short walking distance from the hotel.
+ All the facilities look very new and are in good condition.
The customer-facing hotel staff was the best part of this hotel experience. They had excellent recommendations on food and buying souvenirs, and partner with friendly, professional airport taxi drivers, all with great English language. We felt like we were in good hands on our vacation. The location is also a large plus next to the Lastarria restaurant district, Santa Lucia park, and Plaza de Armas with all the pedestrian paseos.
Wonderfully designed boutique hotel with extremely helpful staff. The Pisco sours at the terrace were great. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The location is great, right across the street from Cerro Santa Lucia, and just a few blocks from Plaza de Armas. About a mile walk to Cerro San Cristobal.
The neighborhood may not be the best at night, but the staff are always on the lookout for your well being!
The Hotel provided a free shuttle service to and from Santiago airport. The driver waited for us past the scheduled time of our arrival because we were slow getting our luggage... a great service.
The hotel was a 10 minute drive from the airport.
All staff members were helpful and polite.
We had an accessible room which was very spacious and there was plenty of room for my wheelchair.
A really beautiful house not too far to walk from downtown Santiago and the main square or a very short metro ride. The property had a very well equipped kitchen for cooking and a comfortable big lounge to relax in too. The bedroom was more like a hotel with a beautiful big bed, great bathroom, smart tv and shampoo etc products too. We were able to store our bags after check out.
Courtesy shuttle pick up and drop off was excellent (really nice mini vans, I was the only person in them )
The staff couldn't have been friendlier - especially Patricio
Buffet breakfast had lots of choice and was really nice
Beautiful large rooms, comfy beds
Very close to airport, not too far from city
One of the nicest hotels I've stayed in
Family run hotel in a lovely old building. Short walk to the train, and restaurants. Staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome and to help making arrangements for taxis and day tours. Very nice friendly atmosphere. Large room, comfortable bed, good bathroom. Good wifi. Not a 5 star place, but excellent value for money.
Perfect location. Close to airport with a free shuttle. Also close enough to city to take a tour. The room was spacious and clean. The restaurant had great food with the exception of breakfast which was at best, mediocre. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. If I had to live in a hotel, I would choose this one.
Exceptional Hotel with friendly staff and a delicious breakfast. We had an early flight out the morning we left and since the restaurant was not open for breakfast, they packed us a to go breakfast to take to the airport! Would highly recommend this gem in the Bellavista neighborhood of Santiago!
This is a great property particularly for a first time visitor to Santiago. It is about 1 block from a major metro line (Santiago has an excellent, cheap metro system) in an upscale part of town. The 2 best features are the rooftop view and the excellent staff. Great hotel experience.
The best possible location with best views and amazing clean, comfy rooms... Great restaurant, pool area can not be any better... stuff extremely kind... we returned to this hotel already. no need to search for other accommodation in Santiago. This is the place!
The hotel is close to all the sights in the city center. It is a small boutique hotel and some employees at the reception speak English (you just have to be lucky with your timing if you have a question and don't speak Spanish).
Excellent value for a decent Best Western. Twins beds were wider than at other hotels. Breakfast was more than adequate. Subway station is very close. Easy to get downtown.
Excellent hotel in a perfect location for an overnight stay at Santiago Airport. Friendly staff were very helpful and overall we would return without a second thought!
