In 1142, the Grimsel Hospiz was the first guest house in Switzerland mentioned in documents. In 1932, it became the first electrically heated hotel in Europe. The restaurant serves traditional Swiss cuisine, as well as a wine cellar and a bar. Guests can relax in a fireplace lounge and a lounge offering panoramic mountain views. Please note that the hotel is entirely nonsmoking.
Please note that from the end of December until the beginning of April, the hotel can only be reached by 2 cable cars and 1 tunnel train. The rate for using these means of guided transport is CHF 74 per person and is not included in the room rate. The cable car operates from Innertkirchen between 11:00 and 13:00. Guests will receive a plan and a time for arrival two weeks before their check-in date.
Please note further that the property is closed on Mondays.
