Almonte is a picturesque little town with a scenic river trail right through the middle of town. The Almonte Riverside Inn was cozy and down home friendly, with a beautiful view of the river. We were only there for 2 days and one night but wished we had stayed longer. It was listed as one of the small town favourites of Ontario and we now know why. The Inn was amazing and the downtown filled with small shops, galleries, restaurants and local history. We recommend this as one of the favourites on our quest to see all 10 of the recommended small town favourites of Ontario.

This town is a jewel with its historic buildings, the river and the charming downtown shops. The park was the perfect backdrop for a picnic lunch. There are plenty of great places to enjoy the local cuisine and this time Heirloom Cafe Bistro was the choice for dinner. An outstanding meal and superb ambiance. Followed by a delightful stay at the Riverside Inn.HarryCanada
