If you have a rental car, Richmond is convenient for proximity to airport and access to the highways to connect to nearby districts. Chinese restaurants which I visited did not disappoint. I had to take away at Kirin which do not welcome lone diners. They told me they were full because I didn’t have a reservation.
Whilst waiting for my takeaway order, they took in a party of 5 who had no reservations. They spoke in Chinese which I understood. Not a very nice restaurant but dim sum items were tasty.
BBQ master serves authentic HK style roast meats. I had chicken and duck with rice which was excellent.

It's in a quiet and safe residential neighborhood.
It's in a quiet and safe residential neighborhood. The host showed me the short cut to the bus stop which is a big help. It's easy to navigate for public transportation . A head up for the future travellers when you check in you have to pay $50 deposit for the key, the host will return the deposit to you when you check out.

Richmond is a quiet and safe neighbourhood and has good links to Vancouver. I would happily stay there again. Next to the skytrain there is a Cat Cafe, so finally I got to experience this concept! Just across the road there is Cactus Cafe, which provides decent food until midnight. There are also plenty of Chinese places to eat, along with sushi places. There is a sizeable shopping mall.
The hotel is situated close to the airport in the area of Richmond. The hotel has a free shuttle bus running every half hour betn the airport and hotel, which suited us perfectly.
The staff were friendly and attentive.
The beds were lovely and comfortable.
I strongly recommend the Asian restaurant across the road called The Fish Man, if you are a foodie and like spicy food. We had the most incredible meal and the atmosphere was brilliant.
This was our second time at this hotel. I love the location and how close it is to great Richmond food and shopping options. The Richmond Public Market (which we love as a destination for our favourite food places in all of GVA) and the CF Richmond Mall are literally within walking distance. The covered parking is a huge plus. There was complimentary breakfast which we loved. The staff is just wonderful!
This was the best equipped hotel we stayed at on our 17 day tour of Canada, it had all the mod cons and the airport shuttle worked a dream.
The hotel was very modern and the bathroom was stunning, it was a very conveniently located for Richmond night market and the pool and gym was very sophisticated.
They were also very happy to store our bags for the day as our flight wasn't until 8 in the evening.
Location is excellent. Skytrain station is right across the street. You can take Canada Line to downtown or to airport. The Aberdeen Centre is also across the street, and you should definitely visit the top floor food court for a variety of authentic Asian food.
The hotel's complimentary airport shuttle is straightforward, another convenient way to get to airport.
The breakfast was amazing, fresh cooked, delicious Asian food, toast, jam, milk, müsli, coffee, tea, and a lot more. William and Jessica were really very friendly and helpful. The location is near Steveston in Richmond, About 20 Minutes with bus no.406 to Brighouse Skytrain station, then another 25 minutes with Skytrain Canada Line (Blueline) to Waterfront.
If you need a place just for a end(beginning)-of-the-day shower and a bed to sleep (e.g., I checked-in at 9:30pm and left at 8am), and can afford a ~40 min commute to/from downtown Vancouver, then this pod hotel should do the job really well. It's minimalist for sure, but then again, what does one need for a less than 12 hrs stay?
Awesome facility , friendly staff. It was our first time in Vancouver and reception staff was awesome. They helped us browsing this beautiful city , thanks to all team members at the Reception !
PS : Macdonald is just 2 minutes walk from the hotel , we used it for our breakfasts!
It was chosen as a cheaper option for an airport hotel for one night with a shuttle service which worked quite well. it was close to Bridgeport station for trains to Vancouver. Quite good value for money compared to other hotels and was comfortable for a short stay.
This was our second time back and we will always use this hotel when needing to fly out of Vancouver airport. The beds were so comfortable. Fittings were posh. Staff were nice and helpful. Just a walk away from outlet mall where food options are.
Sandman is one of the absolute best hotels we have stayed at. Have stayed in about 1100 different hotels around the world and this is among the 5 best. We got an upgrade at no extra charge. next time in Vancouver we will go there again!
The bed was very comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located across from Aberdeen Station on the Canada Line, and the hotel offers a free airport shuttle.
Love love the bed. One of the best of any hotel I’ve stayed in. Absolutely spotless. 24 hr shuttle service. Friendly staff. I’ll be staying here whenever I’m through Vancouver.
Location is super convenient close to the sky train and our car rental location. Cheaper than other hotel alternatives around. Perfect for a quick one night stay.
I like the Sandman hotel because it is located close to the Vancouver international airport and also includes a great restaurant, Moxies, for a delicious meal.
