My family and I did not run into many issues at all.

My family and I did not run into many issues at all. Most people are polite, willing to talk but like any place there are others who'd rather you not be there (maybe they falsely thought we were from Toronto, I don't really know but we are local to Kawartha Lakes). Best places to walk through: Settler's Village (they had a neat scavenger hunt our kids enjoyed when we went through). The beach attached to the locks makes for some different pathway options more interesting than most towns or even cities. Bolten St. has many shops and great dining. Best places to eat at: Full Cup Cafe (Big "EAT" sign, can't miss it driving or walking through). Cajun Chicken, The Taphouse, and Luigi's are also great places to try. Lakeside Chineese is hit or miss, clearly there are cooks that are passionate and others who don't care as much; still worth a try. Best place to stay: Gordon's Cottages and Marina. So nice it's nearly impossible to book a stay there, I guess I got lucky. Best places to shop: Home Hardware - staff is nice and will help you find whatever you need. We personally found London Trading Post one of the best clothing options if you are into that style. Honorary mentions; if you into boating there's plenty of places to dock and rent. Great place for fishing. Oddness: Eerily quiet after 11 even at pubs. Unless you count Settlers Village as a museum I don't know of any other place as I didn't have time to check it out, but I can vouch for Settlers Village being creative and fun no matter the season you go.

Bobcaygeon is a lovely little town with a small, but good quality, selection of restaurants and little shops. It has beautiful river and lakeside walks and is the home of the Kawartha Settlers Village museum. This is a must-see place! It is the most amazing museum/village we have ever visited. Can't recommend it more highly.

    Picturesque town on the water.

Picturesque town on the water. Similar to Niagara on the Lake, but smaller and frequented by many boaters. Lots of little shops - boutique-types that are rather expensive. Excellent ice cream! Be careful when selecting a hotel -especially the 'Inn' variety. One we stayed in had likely last been updated in the early 80's...

I found the town was easy to park in, and easy to walk around and sight see. The stores offered a variety of goods and services, and places to just sit back relax, and see people and boats and many things.

Loved the size of the house and bathrooms. Easily fit eight people. Perfect location close to downtown Bobcaygeon. Driveway plowed of snow and easily accessible. Beautiful view from kitchen and bedrooms over Pigeon Lake. Shampoo and conditioner available in both walk-in showers with rainforest shower heads. Amazingly large main bathroom and huge ensuite. Small main floor powder room in nice out of the way location. Lovely harvest table seats up to ten people. Comfortable beds and pillows with side tables.

I just needed a bed close to Bobcaygeon for one night and it was perfect for that. The room was very small and basic, and some would be disappointed but it fit my needs perfectly. It was clean, redecorated, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. The thermostat was very accessible to adjust the heat.

The golf course was amazing. Very friendly staff. Food and service was excellent. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We would definitely come back again. It was our 30th wedding anniversary and we couldn’t have asked for more. Thanks Eganridge. Kudos to all.
