I grew up in St. John's and it is a great spot for a visit.
I grew up in St. John's and it is a great spot for a visit. The facilities for tourists have really increased over the last 20 years and there are a lot of great restaurants and shops for tourists to experience. The sites in a city that is 400 years old are quite varied and there is ready access to nature visiting sites as well within an hour of the city core.
Pack for pretty variable weather that trends to cooler and damper.

The city offers so much history and with a wonderful presentation at The Rooms. We had a fun screeched in ceremony at Christians with skipper Lukey. The view from signal Hill shows it all. Cape spear and Quidi Vidi can not be missed as well. Especially having lunch at the Mallard Cottage and an Iceberg at the brew company. The waterfront in St. John’s is very interesting and worth the walk.

We stayed at this hotel upon arriving at the airport at 2:30 am.
Shuttle was waiting by the time we got to the pick up point. Great service. Friendly reception. Sufficient breakfast offerings. Great staff in all areas. Perfect for our needs.
Unexpectedly, we spent a second night at the end of our trip when our flight to Toronto was cancelled. Again--great staff in all areas.

Loved the Harbour and the pedestrian mall.
Loved the Harbour and the pedestrian mall. Very hilly, I will definitely be in better shape before my next visit (the unexpected humidity was exhausting, but we made the best of that!)
Everything was close by, very easy to get around.

Best recommendation is: Take the Metro Bus from your hotel to the Pedestrian Plaza on Water Street for shopping and restaurants. It is closed off for the summer and the shopping is delightful. Lots of outdoor patios. We chose one of the outdoor pubs for fish and chips and a local brew. Perfect! Now walk up the stairs at the Courthouse and see the Jelly Bean Houses. Pier 10 is a great place to see the cruise ships docking. Just down the hill from Water Street, this is where the bus lets you off. Catch the Hop on Hop off for lots of sights - located outside of the Alt Hotel on Water Street.

St-John's and the whole Newfoundland is a very unique place.
St-John's and the whole Newfoundland is a very unique place. If you love nature , it is the place for you , yet it also has great restaurants and nightlife and the people there are amazingly friendly and proud of their culture and province . There is a lot of talent from there and the art is amazing .So they will go out of their way to make you feel welcome and bring you the best experience ever. !
Carole is an awesome host. We had spotty Wifi in St Johns and difficulty receiving email about
enterance to our stay. Carole promptly tried messaging and phoning to sort out the details. We
arrived and settled without problems-Thank you Carole. We had a very comfortable sleep and
excellent breakfast on the top floor. The house is an old Heritage site with Stories to tell. It felt
special to be a part of this beautiful space. The area is quiet, yet close to downtown. It's a
recommend for sure.
This was an absolute gem of a location for us. It was centrally located and walking distance to most everything downtown, including shops, restaurants and bars. The hotel itself is a dream! Each room is a little different, but they are all impeccably designed and so far from a standard hotel room that you'll not want to leave. Sully was beyond wonderful and we had an incredible meal at their restaurant. I will not be staying anywhere else from now on!
Breakfast was a continental breakfast. This basically was a help yourself to the home owner's fridge scenario, which met our needs. The location is excellent, we could walk to downtown St. John's. The home is essentially a museum piece that the owner immaculately restored. The owner is also an antique collector of various genres and he will gladly provide a tour and history of his quite extensive collections.
This was my first time staying at the Super 8. I can honestly say that it surpassed all of my expectations. I definitely got quality for my money. The hotel was very clean, the service was superb, my room was cosy & comfortable . I give this place 5 stars ! I will definitely staying here again when I am in St. John's. Thank you to everyone at the hotel who made my stay so pleasurable !
It was clean and unique. The food at the on-site restaurant was excellent. I really enjoyed the people at the door who were always ready to open the door for you and were very helpful. I also loved the showers - you had the choice of a regular shower head or the extra large rain head in the ceiling. The best part was the dental floss holder on the wall, every hotel should have one!
We came here after leaving a very unexpected poor air b n b experience and we were beyond happy with our stay! We come here often simply because we know we’ll have the most friendly staff and the best stay. Our kids love the pool and we were very comfortable in the hot tub. We will definitely be back and choose this hotel as our go to whenever we’re in the city
What a find! Especially in talking and sharing stories with Robert and the other guests over a leisurely breakfast in the kitchen. We were within walking distance to many of the downtown sights as well as the ambitions Signal Hill. Parking was easy and we liked our room.
Very clean! Beautifully kept property. Owner was fantastic - knowledgeable, helpful and entertainingly proud of his creation! Great location. A wonderful start to our vacation in Newfoundland and will definitely stay here again!
Hotel is in a great location close to highways so good for exploring St. Johns and the surrounding area. Rooms were cozy and clean. Nice to be able to have cars right outside the rooms. Staff is friendly and helpful.
A great central location (in the middle of downtown St. John's) in a clean and well-kept Jelly Bean house. Smooth self-check in, free parking, and a very good, self-serve breakfast.
This hotel is in an amazing location in the heart of downtown! I found the bed & pillows very comfortable. Staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful.
Its a beautiful victorian house converted to a hotel . The bed and pillows were very comfortable . It was close to downtown but was a quiet neighbourhood.
