It is said that abundance in Mendoza was so great at the beginning of the 20th century, that the Wine Festival was celebrated pouring this elixir in the city’s fountains and street-side irrigation canals. Located at Mount Aconcagua’s footstep, the city is an oasis in the middle of the dry beauty of the central Argentinean Andes.
Originally inhabited by indigenous peoples, the colonial city was founded in 1561. The irrigation system created by the natives was further developed and became an icon of the city, currently watering near 100,000 trees. The design of the central district includes squares and avenues, and has some of the best luxury hotels in Mendoza.
It is surrounded by vineyards and cellars producing world-class wines. Don’t miss the renowned Malbec variety, and try some of the boutique hotels and rural ‘estancias’ in Mendoza’s wine areas.
Its historic relevance comes from the fact that Argentinean hero José de San Martín prepared here his pioneering crossing of the Andes in 1817, aimed to liberate Chile. This amazing trip with mules and on foot is repeated every year by a group of enthusiasts. The area is actually well-known for mountain sports like hiking, rafting, and skiing.

Mendoza is seems a beautiful city with wide road with huge trees make the place gorgeous. People in general are nice and helpful , plenty places to discover , many activities. I really like Mendoza but never the less the city is to relax shops are completely close Sunday which iis not suitable if you go for weekend and need to buy something. Hotels are expensive and poor services . I would say don’t come to Mendoza just jet until thing improve

Mendoza is a great location for food & wine lovers.
Mendoza is a great location for food & wine lovers. Great vineyards are close by, as is the option to experience a ‘Gaucho’ horse ride & dinner up in the Andes. Lovely town centre with beautiful parks. Great place to visit!

Mendoza was a lovely city, with almost every street having big shade trees. It felt safe to walk around in, with lots of people out in the evening, and so many places to choose from to eat, often all in the same location on both sides of the street for several blocks, so all you have to do is pick one. There's a lot of variation in the quality of the places available to stay, so I would recommend one with a lot of good reviews. There are also a lot of good tours available, to vineyards, horseback riding, the Andes mountains, and more. We were excited to see wild guanacos (a type of llama) at a couple of places in the older, lower mountains!

There are only two cities in the world that I have liked visiting. One is Vienna Austria and the other is Mendoza. I had no idea that I would like the city as much as I did. Tree lined streets and very clean for the most part unlike other cities I have been to. The people were very nice. All the large cities in the USA are awful in this present day. Not Mendoza. I would go back just to spend more time there. You can have New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, etc. Mendoza is well worth a visit.

You need to go to 23 Rios Craft Beer, not just because they have the most awarded beer, but because they have a great atmosphere and is great to stop drinking wine for one day and replace it by beer. :)

What I like Mendoza are the amazing tall trees along the streets.
Beautiful parks…plaza independencia (big one)…and there are smaller parks…plaza espana, plaza chile, plaza Italy, plaza San Martin.
There lots of ice cream shops..cheap.
Absolutely spectacular stay. Very clean, well stocked kitchen, in a very central location but also somehow quiet and peaceful. Right next to the big main Mendoza square. The hosts are extremely kind and worked with us with a delayed arrival due to a delayed flight. This apartment is certainly a gem. Bed was comfortable and windows had black out shades which is really nice. There is also an elevator and the host provided me with contact information for a great driver to see the wineries.
The location of the apartment was great. Quiet area across from park but near to everything, shops, restaurants, parks, landmarks, public transit, etc. The unit itself was roomy and tidy with nice views. The host, Daniel, is extremely helpful and accommodating. He really went out of his way to make you feel welcome and provided valuable information and recommendations so you could enjoy everything Mendoza has to offer. Price was very cost-effective.
Place and Facilities. Most of all, kind and dedicated people in Diplomatic Hotel.
Francisco, Conzalo in reception and Luiz in concierge were quite nice and supportive. Especially, supervisor Franco supported me a lot on the check-out date in relation to flight cancellation due to national strike of airport.
One of the rememberable hotels in the history of my visit. Quite strongly recommendable.
To begin, Ernesto was so kind and accommodating. It was clear that his priority was for us to have a comfortable stay. The place itself is wonderful, very roomy, very quiet and has a beautiful courtyard that lets in a large amount of light through all the windows. The location is perfect for walking to many highlights that Mendoza has to offer. I really cannot recommend it highly enough.
Reception staff were really friendly and helpful both at check in and check out and ordered us a taxi to the airport. The air conditioning in the room was good but noisy. We only spent 24 hours in Mendoza but were able to walk to everything we wanted to see easily from the hotel, and there were lots of good restaurants and bars nearby.
A very nice place centrally located in Mendoza. Check-in was very easy and the hosts were very helpful. The room was very large with a gorgeous view of the mountains. Access was easy and coming and going was easy as well. The bed was very comfortable and though they offered daily housekeeping I did not take advantage.
this is a good apartment in a very quiet and safe location in Mendoza, yet close to the city center which is very convenient. the apartment has all the basics that you need for a short stay. the hosts were very helpful and communicative. great value for what you get.
The apartment is modern, clean, very well located and has everything you need for a great stay in Mendoza, and the best part is Gabi, the host. She is very friendly, responds quickly to inquiries and is an excellent source of information about Mendoza.
The location was perfect, the hotel was clean, staff was friendly & welcoming & the outlook onto plaza Indepencia was delightful. It is the best location in town in terms of safety & culture & ambience.
A unique hotel in a great location, with a personal touch from the owners and the staff to help make sure your stay is exceptional. It was walkable to all of the central Mendoza attractions.
I never saw staff so nice like those. They were incredibly helpful in a very difficult situation, concerning about the close of the main passage between Mendoza and Chile. Great people!
Despite COVID arrangements, the staff made our week-long stay very pleasant. The location could not be better. My next visit to Mendoza will include this hotel as my base.
Perfect stay in Mendoza! Location, beautiful room, comfortable beds, AC, fan, very nice and helpful staff. Unlimited water and fridge on the floor. Recommended 1000%!
