Was very underwhelmed by Berat.
Was very underwhelmed by Berat. One big building site and litter everywhere. View is alright but nothing special. Not much to do. Very quiet in March but traffic already tough so wouldn’t want to be there in summer. Only playground in the village was extremely dirty and many things were broken.

Beautiful view of the mountains, interesting castle, nice walks available. Very affordable. We ate at Pizza Visi and it was fresh and tasty (and very informal). We also took a great walking tour with Lazzaro.

What a pleasant place! Aldi and his mother were so welcoming, the breakfast on the panoramic terrace was great, with home-made jam and all. To visit the town center, it is no more than 20 minutes - the most extreme (but also most spectacular) way to get there is the very steep, almost alpine path that we took, but it is also posisble to just have a quick drive or walk down to the town center.

Breakfast was huge, with eggs, cheese, meats, bread, vegetables, fruit, coffee, tea, and fresh squeezed orange juice all making an appearance. I would absolutely stay here again and so far it is my favorite stay in Albania.
