It is a hostel with all basic facilities (shared toilets, shared kitchen, etc.). It is a good solution for travelers who are not looking for luxury solutions. In comparison to other prices in Canada, it is cheap. It is not in downtown, but it is well-connected through buses. They provide tea and coffee and some oatmeal for breakfast.

Wingate is my go-to hotel when I go to Edmonton. Great location on West End, close to shopping, eating, and the Anthony Hendey for getting in and out of town. The staff are nice, the room is always ready when you arrive, the room is comfortable and always cheaper than the adjacent hotels. Included breakfast and the Homefire Grill in the parking lot can't go wrong!

It's the best hostel I've stayed in, in Canada. Clean rooms, big comfortable common room, great kitchen and library. The staff were amazing, so kind and were so helpful to help me, thank you so much for a wonderful stay. Nice clean washrooms, good shower pressure and it was so handy having a sink in my room too. Perfect example of what a hostel should be, and in a great location.
