We had one of the best stays here in Sri Lanka so far! Our host Shan and his mum were super welcoming, kind and hospitable. They always made sure that we felt comfortable and at home. We got a free upgrade to their two-level room, which had the most amazing view over Gregory lake. There was hot water, thick bed sheets and the home made breakfast by his mum was sooo delicious!! My partner got a little bit sick, so they made us warm tea and some fried noodles for dinner. We felt very grateful for their kindness and can 100% recommend this place!

Medalin Lake Gregory is a guest house situated in the Lake Gregory district of Nuwara Eliya. Mr Keith was super helpful and went beyond to treat us like family. His family was very friendly and nice, specially the morning breakfast request. Whatever I requested he provided with so much love.

First of all and the most amazing of this hostel.... The staff ! They are SO LOVELY! Then, the accommodation is very nice, everything is clean and comfy! the location is perfect to feel real vibe, Breakfast is perfect, they helped for me for arrange tuk tuk for horton plains national park / tea plantations and waterfalls ( very reasonable prices ) Thank you for a lovely stay in Nuwara Eliya.

Amazing stay with Rajith and his family. Comfortable room with great bed, with wet room bathroom. Rajith is very helpful and an amazing musician! Rajith’s sister is an amazing cook - highly recommend the dinner cooked by her. The property has a lovely garden, if you have green fingers! Slightly out of town, but really nice walk back along the lake (I think 20 mins walk from centre?).

Boasting garden views, woods hut features accommodation with a garden and a balcony, around 4.4 km from Gregory Lake. We loved our stay at Woods Hut. We would highly recommend staying here. Wasantha and Chithra were amazing hosts, and made us feel very welcome. The suite was super comfortable, the views and deck is amazing, the bed was super cosy/comfortable and the shower had very good hot water. There was no need for aircon, it is naturally cold in the night. They were very accommodating and helped us with laundry and sorting a scooter hire/tuk tuk from the station. Chithra cooked us an absolutely amazing dinner on our final night, it was our favourite rice and curry in Sri Lanka! We had the pleasure of also meeting their son, Rashi who was very sweet and thoughtful too. This is an amazing family to meet while you are in Sri Lanka and soak up the loveliness of this special accomodation.
