Let Captain Paulo regale you with stories of Portugal's nautical past as he takes you on a splendid evening sail along the Tagus. That's actually just the cherry on top of a lovely stay aboard the Santa Maria II. She was surprisingly comfortable and cosy and it was super fun living in ships quarters for the first time. Super quiet and peaceful. The location at the Alcantara dock was pleasantly away from tourists but close to amenities, transit, and lots of local restaurants.Abundant parking too if needed. It's also quite close to Belem and the walk along the harbour path to it is highly recommended. We had originally wanted to stay in Alfama but we're so glad we found the Santa Maria instead. Such a not so hidden gem Ask the skipper about the ship's name and other sailing superstitions!
