Attractively set in the centre of Athens, Exarchia House Project features 3-star accommodation close to National Archaeological Museum of Athens and University of Athens - Central Building. The place is designed really nicely with modern finishes and is nearly a one bedroom apartment. Both the bed and sofa bed were firm and very comfortable It is spacious and the bathroom was nicely appointed.. We were able to walk to central Athens each day of our stay. The area is a bit out the touristy areas and is in more of a local neighborhood and this is perfectly fine. The graffiti may give you the vibe that it’s a rougher area yet we didn’t feel unsafe as a family. In fact a lot of Athens has graffiti in many areas so perhaps this is the norm there.

We loved the treatment we received from Aristo right at arrival. And then the facilities of the hotel continued to overcome our expectations. Very clean and comfortable, calm and cozy. We definitely recommend Alter ! And we will definitely come back.

The location of the hotel is great - on a quiet street, couple of blocks away from one of the main boulevards that can lead you to Syntagma square. From Syntagma, it is 15-20min walking (depending on your pace) on a well-lit and safe area. Reception works 24/7 and allows check-in anytime. I arrived after midnight, tired, but the welcome was so warm and pleasant that I forgot about that. Room was equipped with all necessary amenities of good class, everything was very clean, neat, well organized. Everyone from the staff was extremely helpful, positive and responsive. I had a request for an iron and it was delivered to me in a couple of minutes, along with an ironing board. As well, they were very helpful with recommending where and how to go for sightseeing based on my limited time in the city - needless to say, everything went perfect with their recommendations. They can also arrange a taxi for you which I didn't take advantage of but was offered several times. Breakfast was great - not a big choice, but sufficient for what I usually have. And most importantly, the ingredients are fresh! The Archaeological museum is on walking distance, so is the Akropolis - though the latter is a bit further, so if you don't want to walk all the way, there are bus and metro stops near the hotel. Edit: Returned to edit the review to add that the staff would be happy to keep your luggage safe in the hotel after check-out (if you have time to hang around, as was my case), for no extra price.

Lovely gem in a cool, central neighbourhood, extraclean, very spacious room with balcony, equipped with all necessary things. Spacious bathroom. Very cool design in common areas and also in the room. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The place exceeded my expectations. Lovely staff, great location with delicious local food and a perfect room with balcony for a solo traveler :)

An excellent stay in Athens - close to Omonoia station. The hotel was very clean and very well furnished and staff very friendly and very helpful. They kindly checked us in a few hours early as soon as we arrived, gave and showed us a map on exactly where to go. They also heated our food for us. Just for peoples information the taxi fare from the airport should be 40 euro during the day (or 45 as reception said) not anything near 55 euro (this is for night only like past midnight till 5am). This hotel is within the inner ring of the athens city and thus by law there are fixed fares including all tolls and charges. If the driver causes problems ask for a receipt and take down their car plate number.

Dotato di un bar-ristorante, l'Hotel Exarchion si trova nella vivace piazza di Exarchia, a 5 minuti a piedi dal Museo Archeologico Nazionale e dalla Stazione della Metropolitana di Omonia e a 15... Very friendly owner. Location cannot be better, near Archeological Museum and Acropolis. Many good restaurants in the surroundings. You are in the middle of Soho of Athens. Nice roof terrass! Good value for your money. Simple and basic, very good breakfast.
