A popular gateway for visiting Seoraksan National Park.
A popular gateway for visiting Seoraksan National Park. Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market is a large traditional market offering many local products (eg. fresh and dried seafood) and local street food. Convenient bus services operate within Sokcho and out of Sokcho. There is a beach at the southern end of the city. We saw several new high rise buildings under construction indicating further expansion of the city in the near future.

I really like to visit seoraksan national park for mount hiking.
I visited Sokcho fish market and had King crab.
Bus 7 and 7-1 go to Sokcho express bus terminal/ Sokcho intercity bus terminal/ Sokcho seafood market.
I used to stay resort before. It is nice and good scenery but I had to use taxi all the time. I stayed near Sokcho express bus terminal/Sokcho beach this time, it save lots of transportation cost, so I enjoyed king crab.

Sokcho is a great city.
Sokcho is a great city. It is close to the national park, and the park is exceptional. The beach is nice. Public transit is clean and efficient. Taxis are readily available and clean/safe. Restaurants, cafes and market food options are unlimited.
The is a not springs foot bath in Sockcho that I have never experience elsewhere and is a great stop. We could have spent a week in the National Park on trails.

The beach was nice: not too crowded on week days but a little overcrowded on weekends. The sand was a little rough, so by the end of the day my feet were sore. If I went again I would only stay Monday-Friday, as parking near the beach was impossible to find on Saturday.

Sokcho-si is a beautiful coastal city located in the northeast of the Gangwon-Do province of South Korea.
The city is famous for its history, culture, national parks, natural beauty, and local cuisine. The city is a popular gateway to the famous Seoraksan National Park.
Unfortunately it was raining and we couldn't hike Seoraksan, but we were able to stroll around the city.

Seoraksan National Park was nearby & have great hiking trails. Lotsa of attractions & attractions in the city. Plentiful seafood available. There’s also chicken Dalai which is stir fried chicken with assortment. Stayed for 2 nites. Maybe should have an additional nite to explore more 😀 I drove but you can walk around.
I had the standard twin room. Did not have breakfast in the hotel. The location was smack in the middle town although probably not near any bus terminal (or I couldn't see any) since we came by car. I love the view of my hotel room because it had both the city view plus partial of the lake or sea view (i think it was a lake). The bed was great and the pillows had oomph! (it was definitely not flat!). I had a very sound sleep or maybe it was the soju that did the trick! Very up to-date amenities like charging sockets etc in the room.
Great location - just in front of the Express Bus Terminal and the bus stop to go to Sobaeksan National Park is 30s away from the Hotel. The hotel is also 5min away from the seafront. The hotel is also close to Convenient stores and restaurants.
One of the staff member speaks perfect English which helps a lot. Also, don’t hesitate to check the Tourist Information Center just in font of the bus station. The receptionist who works there speaks perfect English. she will try to help you without any doubt.
My experience at Sky Residence Hotel was nothing short of amazing, thanks to their cutting-edge smart key technology. Easy check-in and check-out system.
The room itself was well-equipped, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. Clean and very comfortable!
The hotel's location was also a huge plus, allowing me to easily explore the surrounding area. Will definitely come back.
I highly recommend World Sky Residence Hotel for anyone visiting Sokcho area.
The owners, Mr. and Mrs. Lee were hospitable, informative and personable to make sure for all the guests have their best exprience while visiting Sokcho. My four day trip was more than expectation. Because of their detailed information, I could visit facinating places including nice restaurants, a hot spring as well as local attractions such as Seoraksan National Park. I highly recommand this guest house: good location, safe, reasonable price for the best service.
A trendy new hotel with great views over the Port and a top location to see all the main sights of Sokcho. The room was superb, the beds were super comfortable, and the bathroom was very modern with a cool electronic toilet. The rooftop lounge had wonderful views, especially at night, and the downstairs funky cafe served a buffet continental breakfast, which was included in our room rate.
Don't hesitate booking this cool hotel. It's luxury at a bargain price.
Great hostel. Immaculately clean, and the bathroom for my private room was very modern. The common areas were nicely arranged, cozy and with a variety of places to sit both indoors and outdoors. The location was also good. We could easily catch buses from the express bus terminal to the hotel and also from the hotel to Seoraksan. Very quiet on a weeknight (and with tourism still limited due to COVID). Would definitely stay again.
Self check-in was easy to use, different languages to choose from. Lovely view of Sockcho beach. Although the room is compact it has lots of storage, great facilities, a well-equipped kitchen, dining table and chairs, washing machine, excellent bathroom with a good shower and a comfortable bed. Great location, close to beach and express bus terminal to visit Seoraksan National Park. Highly recommend this hotel. Exceptional value.
We loved this place! It felt like staying in a home rather than a hotel. The room had everything we needed and there were so many thoughtful touches. Great wifi. Loved the breakfast as well. Juha was very helpful answering our questions in advance and providing directions, as well as restaurant recommendations nearby. 100% recommend staying here if you’re going to Seoraksan national park. The bus to the park stops right outside.
The location is right on the beach, so if you are interested in walking on the beach this is a great option. It is also a 15 minute drive to Naksansa temple. Our hotel room was as-advertised and clean. We could hear louder guests, but ultimately the room was solid. I would note that if you book an "apartment," this is considered to be separate from the hotel, meaning you cannot use the pool, gym, and other amenities.
The hotel itself was looking like a pretty new one, the room was clean. Bed, floors, and baths were clean, but stuff like pans, dishes and microwave were smelly after people who were living before me. So we cleaned it by ourselves...
I liked location, the room and the fact there were aircon and washing machines <2 washing machines. Samsungs> Super close to the beach. Also sea view was pretty nice 👌
The couple that runs The Blue Door are the nicest, most hospitable pair. Good English is spoken. Very kind and accommodating. Their dog Barry, a very friendly black lab, is an extra attraction. The location near the beach and near the Sokcho boardwalk is great. My single room was big enough for one person and very clean and comfortable.
What a great stay! Sokcho Hütte is located very close to the bus terminal and the room was spacious and very comfortable. It was also very clean and nicely decorated and you did not hear the other guests at all. The host was the best; he vas super friendly and made delicious toasts in the morning; he even offered to give us a ride.
Sokcho Guest House is located in the center of Sokcho, close to the fish market and bus terminal. The nearest beach is approximately 15 minutes walk away. The owner of the facility was very helpful and gave many tips in English. The free breakfast was modest but consisted of fresh products. A place worth recommending!
Really close to the Sokcho intercity bus terminal! The owner was extremely nice and even showed me all the spots I should check out around Sokcho and which restaurants are the best on a tourist map that he provided! Also, really nice rooms and facilities were well beyond what I was expecting for the very cheap price
Very kind and friendly host who was very accommodating. Breakfast was simple and delicous: Toast, cereal, coffee. Room was clean and shower was hot. It is a great location next to Seoraksan National Park. The bus Stop Sokcho District C is right next to the hotel/hostel and about 15 min from the park entrance.
Cute and quiet apartment in a very convenient location for exploring Sokcho. The apartment is fully outfitted with toiletries, dishes for use, laundry detergent, etc. A/C worked extremely well. The owner was very communicative. It was perfect for what we needed and we’d absolutely book it again.
Everything was just perfect! I recommend this place over and over! It was very pleasant to stay here and extremely convenient that the Sokcho bus terminal is literally 2mins walk. Loved it! Every moment of it! Beds were amazing i slept so well!
The location is fantastic for visiting and hiking the mountain. It’s close to Sokcho as well, so if you need to get to town, it’s 10min away by car. We visited during winter, the rooms were warm and cozy and the scenery all around spectacular.
