The room is comfortable and we forgot to close window so there were a a bunch of bugs flying in our room. Fortunately, there is still the last vacant room that day, and the hotel also quickly changed the room for us.

Overlooking the scenic Douro River Valley, Quinta da Casa Cimeira, Guest House, Wines & Food is set in a historic country house and surrounded by a garden and vineyards. The location in a mountain village with views over Douro valley is amazing. We arrived by train to Pinhão station and took a taxi to the hotel. It’s 15 minutes drive with awesome views and it costs around 12€. You should definitely take the dinner prepared by the owner himself, it worths a gourmet restaurant’s menu with wine pairing. Even if it is not said, actually it includes the experience of tasting different kinds of wine from their own vineyard. As we informed Senhor Miguel earlier, the dinner menu was adapted to my parents’ alimentary restrictions. The hotel itself is in a renovated mansion like historical building, so full of charm. We will definitely come back and we will definitely order their great red wine that we can’t forget!

Probably the nicest people we have ever met! On our way to the property, my wife injured her ankle and they literally drove to us, picked us up and brought us to their property… Such kindness. The room is basically a separate residence on their property and was incredible. They have a balcony to sit on in the evening and you can walk up to the roof and watch the sunset where there is another set of chairs and table. When we showed up, they had a cold bottle of white wine, waiting for us and in the morning brought us fresh bread for breakfast with homemade jams. I wish we lived closer so we could adopt them as grandparents 😁😁

It's like a friend asking you to move into their house and care for their cat. But there's no cat. Clean, new, well equipped, river view, pictures are true, my first choice if I ever get back to to Pinhao
