Fansipan summit is a breath taking view from suspension cable cab. Buy the tickets one way to the summit, then walking down to visit all the pagodas. Bring along a warm coat, ears cover because the summit weather is unpredictable. The day we visited Fansipan, lowland temperature was 19 degree Celsius with clear sky and fully sunny, by the time we reached the summit around 11am. the temperature was dropped down to 2 degree Celsius with high wind and partial cloudy. Most Sapa villages have unpaved trail, be sure to purchase knee high waterproof boots at the Sapa main market if you plan to visit those villages during rainy season. Bring small Vietnamese currency such as 1000VND or 2000VND if you want to give out to the little kids beggar or for a chance to take a picture with them

Sapa is a bit overhyped thanks to Social Media.
Sapa is a bit overhyped thanks to Social Media. I would stay 4 days in total. Two for hiking, once north, once south (or taking motorbike tours), one for a traditional ethnic workshop like batik or embroidery and one to go up Fansipan, the highest mountain in Indochina.
Sapa is a small city that has become increasingly touristic and you will encounter several places that operate with fake google ratings.

We used Trekking Tour Sapa for some walking trips and they were fantastic.
Mount Fansipane is worth a visit.
Overall the town itself is very touristy and Street vendors are plentiful.

It was disappointed to know that the cable to Fanispan mountain was closed for maintenance only 2 days before our arrival. We had no choice but to proceed to Sa Pa. Nevertheless, we had a good time in Sa Pa as we enjoyed the weather, though a little wet as it was raining most of the time.

It can feel a bit touristy, but for a good reason and definitely is worth a return trip in a different season

Sapa is a great place to visit if you like the highland/ mountain landscape.
Most of the time covered in mist and fog, rather cool compared to the rest of Vietnam, it is a good place to visit if you want to explore the rice fields, visit Fansipan "The roof of Indochina", and the local village experience.
If you decide to visit, do expect to find a rather touristic place.
My most favourite hotel in my 3 week trip of Vietnam
The welcome and TLC afforded by the staff was out of this world
I received an upgrade to the second highest floor. The view from the room was outstanding
The room was spotlessly clean and so well furnished. You felt at home and in comfort
The view from the swimming pool was awesome. After all the walking, the water temperature acts as an ice bath (yes it’s cold!)
The finest breakfast in any hotel I stayed in Vietnam. The choice and the quality was unbelievable
This is not an hostel, but an hotel Homestay like. So the name can be misleading.
Well located in a side street so easy to get around but not having traffic noise.
They speak English and they are helpful.
Room is small and basic as furniture but ok. They also provide you with heat blanket in case you are cold.
Close to a nice place to have a cheap binh mi and nice egg coffee in the morning which was delicious
I spent four nights there and it was peaceful and nice.
Located 8 to 10 minutes walk from Sapa Station, away from the noise. There are a few nice restaurants within few minutes walk - Yummy Restaurant, Mountain View Station, Little Vietnam, etc. What differentiate the hotel from others is the staff especially Ms Autumn. They are alway around when you need helps or advise. Morning breakfast is very good for a boutique hotel. The hotel building was only completed 2 years ago. It is new and comfortable.
I was stunned by the friendliness and hospitality of the staff (who are family members of the owners). This is actually a 4-star hotel with the spirit of a hostel which was super helpful in showing you anything you need for an off-track itinerary in Sapa. Everything in this hostel is well-decorated and clean. Highly recommended and definitely come back here for staying if I go back to Sapa the second time. Thank you, guys!
The service made me feel at home. Everyone was so kind. They accommodated our late check-in and the hotel was 4min walk from the bus drop off! At breakfast they offer to make us noodles soup which was one of the best that we've had in our month in Vietnam.
Washroom was well stocked and they offer lots of items like comb, toothbrush, etc.
Such a perfect place to stay if you're on a budget and want something comfortable.
I really enjoyed this hotel and their kind personnel. I stayed two more days as my room was very comfortable with great view. I thank Mrs Oriana and Hien for organizing my train reservation and their kind attention for every detail. In particular I thank you Mr Van Nhan for his kindness and for introducing me the Vietnamese food. l Highy recommend this hotel.
This homestay deserves a special shoutout. It's filled with incredible - helpfull people, warmth, amazing views, the best food in Vietnam & four adorable dogs. If you're ever in Sa Pa, you must stay here - without a doubt. It's a 20 minute ride from town, but it's so peaceful and I had the best time here. Thanks for all the help & the great stay Duc!
We had a wonderful stay in Sapa at Moc homestay sapa. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the room was immaculately clean. The location was fantastic, particularly on the week-end when the hotel is located in the walking streets of the center city. I definitely recommend this hotel to others.
This place is a great deal in Sapa. It is located right in the middle of everything, which makes it easier for pickups and other things. The staff is really nice and helpful, and ways were looking for ways to help. The room was spacious, and it had all the amenities expected for this type of hotel. The breakfast was really good.
This was one of the best hotels we've stayed in Vietnam. View from our room balcony was breathtaking. The staff working here really try to help you in anyway they can, they always greet you with a smile. Room was really clean and comfortable and plenty of options for breakfast. We would love to come back here again.
The reception staff were the friendliest we've experienced staying in 8 hotels in Vietnam.
Our room was very warm and a decent size.
The location is pretty good, a short walk to Sun Plaza. And when it's clear, there is a good view from the property.
It was reasonable value for money.
After 23 days in Vietnam and many homestay/hotels, this was the best we had (the room with the balcony). Great bed, great bedsheets, spacious room, new bathroom, great water pressure, a kettle, etc... and all of this for one of the lower prices we ever had.
This property was beautiful and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We did a day trek that the homestay organised and it was one of my favourite experiences in Vietnam. I will be staying here again next time I am in Sa Pa.
It was the best hotel in Vietnam we stayed in so far (just one stop left).
great Breakfast buffet with a huge variety, spacious very clean room with amazing view, very good gym with all equipment you might need. nice pool area
The hotel staff was helpful, courteous and professional. The hotel is arty and beautifully built to capture the panoramic view of Sapa. The breakfast offered a good variety of western n Vietnamese food.
It's an awesome budget and a nice hotel near the lakeside in Sapa! Clean room with AC, heating blanket and hot water. Best location! Friendly family who runs the hotel. Perfect stay!
We were welcomed before entering the hotel and treated very well. All staff were welcoming and super helpful. Location was great and easy to walk to SAPA center.
