Comfortable bed and good space in our room. So close to many shops, eateries, etc. on the beach!
Quaint little town. Beautiful scenery. Lots of low key, fun places to visit all around the area's adjacent towns.
If you love the beach...you're happy. We always walk the Bob Jones Trail which is nearby.

Avila La Fonda is a true gem on the West Coast.
Avila La Fonda is a true gem on the West Coast. From the moment we arrived to the moment we reluctantly checked out, we were enveloped in a haven of comfort and warm hospitality.
The accommodations at Avila La Fonda were fabulous. Our suite was beautifully decorated and the complimentary wine and delicious homemade pie created an inviting and cozy atmosphere that made it difficult to leave.
I wholeheartedly recommend this lovely hotel to anyone seeking a memorable and rejuvenating getaway. We only planned for one overnight stay in our 3 week road trip but in hindsight we'd plan to stay longer next time!

Avila Beach is a beautiful, relaxing town full of lovely architecture and flowers. The beach itself was clean and not overly crowded. There were several excellent dining choices near my hotel. I will be back next year!
Fantastic location directly on the beach and we were very sorry that we only spent one night there. We loved Avila Beach and if we lived nearer, we would spend more time there on a coming holiday. Also quite good breakfast, I enjoyed having it on the roof terrace with the view to the sea. Room was nice as well, though I was a bit disappointed that it didn't have a window to the sea.
Overall everything about this property was lovely! The staff were genuinely helpful and
kind. The room was lovely and all of the little extra amenities were delightful (far and above most other properties). Location was fantastic - only one block from beach, pier, restaurants, wine tasting and shops - could not have been better! Entire 4 nights in Avila Beach was great!
good location in the the little Avila Beach village - on the front road with ocean views. a nice sundeck is available, with views over the ocean and bay, with comfortable lounge style seats and and gas fires. a place to meet nice poeple. And they offer nice breakfast with real coffee, and a nightly "pi time" session with free homemade pie.
It’s hard for o find an hotel nowadays that doesn’t charge you for every little thing. Here is quite the opposite. Breakfast was not included but they gave us one little basic breakfast basket anyways. So, it’s sweet when you see a business that’s not all about money! This is one is really an exception! We’ll be returning for sure!
The location near Avila Beach and San Luis Bay was picturesque and close to SLO airport. The pool was nice and everything was clean. The bed was comfortable. The room was a nice size and the bathroom and kitchen were nice although, we didn't stay long enough to make use of the kitchen other than the refrigerator and coffee machine.
the property was a great experience! amazing views of Avila and was just a really unique stay. We brought a butane gas stove top and cooked our dinner outside and watched the sunset with our dog. The location was also right next to a dog friendly beach, so our puppy had so much fun. the place is overall very dog friendly.
I loved my room with private jacuzzi tub overlooking the creek and walking path outside. The bathroom was clean and spacious. There was a coffee and tea cart available for guests which was a plus. The club located next to the hotel has a sauna that guests are able to enjoy as well
Location is right in the middle of Avila Beach and right across from the beach. Easy to walk to different restaurants and stores. Quiet in the evening. Great bartenders at the Custom House and wonderful meals at Blue Moon. Look froward to going back.
The hotel isn't terribly expensive but feels LUXURIOUS! Our stay was so comfortable and pleasant. We were celebrating a special occasion, and everyone on staff made us feel welcome and well cared for. It was such a beautiful experience!
Well-equipped, comfortable beds, plenty of space for two couples staying for the weekend! The view from the roof was a nice touch and everything in Avila beach is walking distance. We had plenty of towels and kitchen supplies too.
We were in Avila for the Blues Festival, and the venue was across the street from the hotel. This was perfect for us. Having a beach front room with patio was a great pick. The room was spacious with a great layout.
Excellent location, not overly crowded beach, and very close to biking and hiking trails. Great restaurants in walking distance and a short drive to Pismo downtown and the sand dunes. Will definitely be returning.
We always have a wonderful time, between playing pickle ball and going in the hot tub at the resort next door to riding bikes to Avila Beach on the Bob Jones Trail. It’s so fun and freeing to our souls!
Avila Beach is a sleepy little beach town. No crowds and plenty of beach. The property is centrally located and offers private patios as well as public areas for relaxing. A perfect place to wind down.
I loved everything about this hotel. Bonus was that at 8:00 pm they treated everyone to some amazing pie and ice cream. Strawberry/rhubarb pie was excellent 🍓
