Loved the sea pools, with cafe for after swim drinks. and the peaceful evening walks. Easy to catch a bus further afield. Harder to get to levada walks than I expected, and I would avoid the ones that come back down steep hills to coast - rough and dangerous surfaces

This is not a sand beach vacation. There are tidal pools to swim in if the weather cooperates. Be aware that the north side of the island is cooler and more likely to rain. We enjoyed our 2 night stay by the ocean but that was enough

A beautiful little town with the most beautiful swimming in Madeira in natural pools with sea water and sea fish. Protected from the waves and great for bathing and swimming, in a beautiful wild nature surrounded by rocks. Everything is close by car, the most beautiful levadas, the Fanal forest. Really spend more days.

We were driving around Madeira Island for 8 days & Porto Moniz was 1 of the most scenic area, beautiful rocky formations with the natural pools. We only stayed overnight, but wished we could have spent more time here, experience swimming the natural pools. Beautiful instamagramable picturisque views. We highly recommend Porto Moniz.

the ocean view is amazing.
The city has both natural and paid natural pools, where the only option is to swim.
if you are a fish lover, there are really many good restaurants in this city.
for us, the tastiest fish was Espada.
It is also a great place to visit the Fanal forest, the Telegrafico gondola and the Rabacal area.
for us, who are fans of bends, steep roads, beautiful nature and of course the sea, this part of the island was the most beautiful.
Wonderful house, well designed and furnished with everything needed for a week-long stay. The location was perfect—close enough to Porto Moniz amenities but still very quiet and relaxing. We really appreciated the opportunity to explore a different side of the island, having previously stayed mostly in the south. The host was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay here again when back in Madeira.
The staff were absolutely first rate and anticipated all our needs. Beautifully clean, with a fantastic view from the balcony and the sound of Atlantic breakers day and night. Breakfast on the terrace of the restaurant at sunrise and swimming in the lava pools beneath our balcony in the middle of October.

What a memorable place to stay. Both for the enchanting location and the hotel itself - which is lovely with inviting rooms, terrific views, a welcoming staff, and very fine restaurants Everything was 5*****. We loved staying here so much, we plan on returning for as long as a month. Top notch!
A very nice receptionist welcomed us and showed us to our beautiful room. The breakfast was perfect, the hotel was beautiful and clean, the hotel is close to swimming pools, we got a small gift - we were very satisfied - 10/10.

modern room with a big clean bathroom. quite hotel and the area, we did not hear any noise. beach towels provided. parking garage. refill water cooler free of charge. free entrance to the natural pools and some more paces that are part of this hotel group.
The hotel is in a central location and everything is within walking distance. Furthermore it has two parking places which makes it easy to park and move around the area. Also the bedrooms are huge, they easily fit 3 people or a dog :D

Clean and quiet rooms, tasty breakfast. Hotel is situated in very nice part of Porto Moniz. Many people can also appreciate 10% discount in hotel restaurant (we love local food) and souvenir shop.

Beautiful view from big balcony over the ocean and Porto Moniz. Big clean house with three bedrooms and two bathrooms downstairs. Washing machine is a big plus.
