There was nothing not to like starting from heart-warming reception, and throughout our stay during which we were the only couple in the property, who were kindly assisted by some 20 staff members.
This was just our luck to visit the place on weekdays and during lower season, thus we had an absolute privacy. Only us and nature!
The chalets, restaurant, viewing terraces, and the pools areas were spotlessly clean, well designed, and professionally served.
Great experience!

I never seen anything like this. We spent the best two nights in this lodge. Oryxes, birds, jackals walking around. Sunsets and sunrises with the vest views. Rooms are separate buildings, super clean, like new. Spacious. The stuff is great. Dinner is delicious. Truly amazing place!
Featuring a year-round outdoor pool, Dead Valley Lodge in Sesriem has accommodations with free WiFi and free private parking for guests who drive.

I can’t say enough good things about the property. Staff was the absolute best. Room and view was perfect, not to mention you have the closest access to get into the park in the morning, minus private entrance. Food was legit. What else do you need.

We stayed at the Desert Camp, not far from the park entrance gate. It was an easy drive to the park, and the 60km of wonderful tarred road to the 2 wheel drive car park. This gives access to Dig Daddy dune and Deadvlei.
From here the park vehicle took us to Big Momma dune, and also goes to Hidden Vlei. All very easy.
Dune 45 is 45 km along the road. The bus cost 180 Namibian dollars in October 2023. Wear runners to climb the dunes and walk to Deadvlei. Har, sunglasses and water are essential. We ate at the restaurant inside the park gate. Good and affordable. We bought our water at the shop there. Breakfast at the Sossusvlei Lodge was good too.
I would recommend paying extra for tyre and glass insurance when picking up your rental car. Prior to coming to Sesriem, we had a flat tyre far from anywhere and Hertz directed us to a lodge with tyre repair services. We had to go on to Outjo to get the fixed tyre replaced, but the insurance made it less of a concern.

Best place to experience the oldest desert on earth.
Best place to experience the oldest desert on earth. Wonderful place to spend time with. At least you need to stay 1 night inside park to make sure that you can go to Deadvlei early in the moring. Take photos with shade of light. Hiking at Daddy dune in the morning and slide down to deadvlei.

Sesriem is an oasis in the desert and everything is well organized but basic. Prepare well before you go. The cleanliness of the entire area is remarkable. The Namibian people are very friendly and helpful - don't be shy to ask for advice.

I loved the dunes, but we should have got there a bit earlier in the day for the best photographic opportunities. We stayed at We Kebi Lodge which was exceptional value for money, and I would have loved to stay there for a longer stay.

The road in from Mariental (273Km) and out to Walvis Bay (315 Km) were sand/gravel, and in a poor shape for large portions. Other than that it was a great stay. 2 nights should be a minimum with at least one day to frolic in the dunes.

Accommodation in and around Sesriem and Sossusvlei is...
Accommodation in and around Sesriem and Sossusvlei is slightly on the expensive side for locals and South Africans. However, it is one of those things that you have to see and experience should you be able to travel the gravel roads of this vast country.
Great place to stay, highly recommended!
We stayed 2 nights to visit Sossusvlei. You can view the sunrise and sunset by fire place. Also possible to have balloon fly of sunrise behind the hotel, in the morning we job to the backside and go up the small hill and the view was great, at night, you can have amzing milkyway after 5 course dinner which is sunrising good and fast.
We did not expect this at our first stay in Namibia, it was the best start you would wish for.
This was our first hotel of our tour and it was an instant hit.
We really enjoyed the beautiful, spacious rooms. The terrace overlooking the desert was my favorite spot. Dinner was great. The good night stories were a nice attention.
The sundowner was also very nice and in an amazingly beautiful decor.
Too bad the lovely pool was too cold to use. By the way, nowhere in Namibia are the pools heated, although there is enough sun to do that with solar panels.
We really liked the desert quiver camp! The outside kitchen was great and the pool was close and clean. We booked a Safari Tour at the hotel where the breakfast was served. Our tour guide was really nice and the group itself as well - we went on the morning tour and the breakfast on the tour was really nice. The entrance to the desert is super close. I can only recommend the place!
Incredible hotel!! It is located inside a reserve where 5 white rhino, zebras, oryx, wildebeest and more roam freely! I've never been so close to wild animals! The hotel boasts a stunning outdoor pool and sundecks to observe the animals from. The staff is SO NICE and attentive, and the food they cook is amazing. Each bungalow has an en-suite bathroom, and is clean and well kept.
Great place to stay if you are visiting Sesriem. The rooms are simple but very clean and comfortable to accommodate a family with kids.
The staff is excellent and go above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay (kudos specially to Paul on this).
Food is also very good and quality and the kitchen staff make sure all your dietary requirements are considered.
+ Our room/cottage was very spacious
+ Area outside of our room was just for us, well equipped for BBQ.
+ We can imagine spending multiple days here
+ Nearby Sossusvlei Lodge offers great adventures (helicopter flight, trips...)
+ Sossusvlei Lodge also covers meals for guests. Everything is smoothly connected. We just had to state our room number
What a fantastic experience that was. You are treated like a king from start to finish. The Hotel Manager has created a superb atmosphere with all the staff. The facilities are greatly located.
I can only highly spoke of everyone looking after us during our stay/
A special thank you to our guide Paolo who made our desert tour extraordinary.
The location and sunset is awesome ! Hermann who is doing the tour is the perfect person to go with at the dunes, sesriem and deadvlei ! we did as well a game drive wirh hermann is was superbe ! The location is great, staff very smilly and friendly !
Very clean as well ! and great diner !
Everything was perfect. From check in to check out the service and staff were wonderful. Lovely view from the room, comfortable, peaceful, great food and the Gemsbok. 40 mins drive to Sesriem gate. Well worth it to see the dunes. Don't forget Deadvlie and Sesriem Canyon.
Checked in to the hotel and realized although they say it has AC it barely works. Instead we asked to switch to their sister lodge Sossusvlei Desert Lodge and paid for the difference which they were happy to do. Location is great as its right by the gate.
The hotel has spectacular view, chalets are stylish and very clean. The food is amazing and quite varied, considering the location in the middle of the desert.
Special greetings to Steven, who is really helpful and cool guy :)
A very nice place with nice swimming pool to have a drink! Dinner @ Sossusvlei Lodge was really great (food and place): dinner under the stars! :) Perfect location as only few kilometers from the gate.
nicely designed, inside the park, close to its own small dune, easy to drive to Sesriem canyon and Namib sky balloon and the entire staff was very friendly and provides amazing services
Excellent hotel well managed. Food disappointing not good and is not on par with the rest of the facility. Loved the spa and outside pool area as well as lounging areas. Rooms stunning.
Close enough to Sesriem. Nice bungalows and incredible views of the desert and awesome dark skies for stargazing. Good restaurant and friendly staff. There is a small pool.
A quiet nice place to rest from the adventure in Sesriem. Comfortable and nice place!!!!
For my kids, the fact that the place has a some sort of Linx that you could touch!
