Booked on the same day, as was having an overnight stop at Meknes, we ended staying two nights. Room was very clean and is near to the medina, although taxis are very cheap. Room was of a decent size. The lady at reception was extremely helpful and pleasant.

Don't believe the online videos or guidebooks that say that the whole of Meknes is a building site! While there is a lot of renovation going on, there are still marvelous things to see and do. The medina is very interesting and comes with very little hassling. Its worth taking a day trip - or longer - to the mid Atlas mountains.

I didn't enjoy Meknès itself that much but I would certainly recommend visiting the partially restored Roman city ruins of Volubilis. It's about a 45 mins drive up the mountains. Keep your speed limited to 60 km/h though as there are a lot of police speed traps! It costs 70 dh to enter the grounds and around 200 dh to get a guide to show you around (mine spoke excellent English).

We only stayed 1 night to see Volubulis.
We only stayed 1 night to see Volubulis. We should have stayed longer. The vendors had quality merchandise and prices were by far better than Fes and Marrakech. Our hosts were very hospitable. The room was comfortable and beautiful. This town is the real heart of Morocco.

Many attractions are covered up, undergoing constructions.
Many attractions are covered up, undergoing constructions. Not much to do here for 3;days.
Medina: alleys are dusty, lots of cats poop along the way. Cats roaming these alleys look dirty and sickly.
Better Options: Stay in Fes and just travel to Meknes for a day to see some attractions. Train ride to Meknes is only 28 dirhams one way. Option 2 - stay in a riad in Meknes for 1 day.

Relatively relaxed and hassle free.
Relatively relaxed and hassle free. A lot of renovation is going on (September 2023) so some monuments and museums are closed. The Jamai museum is excellent. Nearby Volubilis is also well worth a visit. Fez is roughly an hour away by car/bus/train so an easy day trip.

Meknes is going thorough significant change and refurbishment - especially the medina and square. The souk are no longer traditional - they are markets catering to local people. The city clearly has some fantastic history and the Riad we stayed in was part of that but I didn’t see enough attraction for more than a very short visit. If you are visited Volobulis, I would recommend staying in Moulay Iddriss instead.
The place was perfect for our stay in Meknes! My husband was sick and we needed a comfortable place to feel better. The room was beautiful, as is the whole building! The bathrooms were spotless, bed was the most comfortable we’ve had in Morocco so far, air conditioning was very appreciated! Manager was super helpful with advice and company, so friendly! The breakfast was prompt and delicious. The kitchen has everything you need and more to cook if you would like to. Laundry service was available. Wow! Favorite place so far here in Morocco!
Our stay was fantastic!
The riad is 600 years old, architecture and design are so authentic and take you to the journey through time.
Our room was big with high ceiling and very comfortable.
The hosts are so lovely people, it was a great pleasure to have conversations with them.
Breakfast was traditional, good and tasty.
If you are visiting Meknes, you should definitely stay in this riad as it’s not just a hotel but an extraordinary experience that will enrich you Moroccan trip.
I liked the location as it is a 10DM taxi from the train station and to the medina. Their are some restaurants that are nearby and it is an easy walk to BIM and Carrefour grocery stores. The room was clean, had good internet connection, comfortable bed,, hot shower, good refrigerator and good heating. The breakfast was great as they had many pastries, tea, eggs cooked to order at 7:30am. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I recommend this hotel for a great visit in Meknes.
Our plan was to visit Volubilis and Moulay Idriss from Meknes and it was a very last minute decision to stay overnight in this city. Although we booked very last minute, upon arrival we were kindly welcomed and the staff helped us arrange a private driver to visit Volubilis and Moulay Idriss immediately. They were also very kind to accommodate to our early morning departure and made breakfast for us. Very much appreciate their hospitality!
We liked everything about this Riad. The owners really did a great job with restoration of this old medina Riad.
Breakfast was the best that we had in Morocco. Staff was really nice and helpful. Room was amazing, the roof terrace is really beautiful with an amazing view. Our room had really nice and cozy place outside with sofa and a table.
All together was great.
The Ibis hotel was convenient, as parking was needed. the rooms are on the smaller side, with a double bed, which was very comfortable. The bathroom was functional, hot water, good shower, hairdryer and good lighting. The room has a TV, which I did not use. There was a buffet breakfast, which was plenty, as I like a simple breakfast.
It’s a beautiful, truly an architectural diamond in the midst of the crowded souk of Meknès . parking is a 10-15 minutes lovely walk in the winding alleys . The host was very helpful and kind - a wonderful place to stay while in Meknès - if only for the hotel we would have stayed another night. !
Very calm and cozy place with a perfect location in the Medina. The staff friendly and very helpful. We really enjoyed the breakfast.
Our room, or more a small flat, was on the top with access to the terrace with a view above Meknes.
When we are in Meknes again this would be our choice again.
It was like a homestay hotel. Not many tourists in Meknes right now. The owner was lively and helpful and would bring anything you wanted from late night food and drinks to the terrace to good traditional musicians. In old town, local neighborhood. Comfortable beds and rooftop terrace
The hotel is not the newest, but our room was well kept and very very clean (not really common in Morocco). The room was also very large.
Being out of the medina, the location was really easy to find and it was located close to the train station and the area is well served.
The room was clean and comfy, the bathroom is clean too.
The lobby is charming and very nicely decorated, for more quite room you should choose the piscine view.
The location was perfect for my need, but if you want to be close to the city you should choose another hotel.
Beautiful huuuuge rooftop terrace (the biggest I’ve ever seen in Morocco); central location and great hospitality by the local owners. I wish I could’ve has my breakfast on the rooftop instead of down in the rather cold and dark living room without windows.
It was a clean, basic hotel with a nice central location. Towards the end of my trip I really appreciate the hotels not in the medina but reasonably close (I had a car rental and parking was always an issue, however not in this case)
A wonderful place to stay in Meknes. The receptionist, Muhammad was very friendly and helpful and was always around to ensure my stay was smooth and comfortable. The room I was staying in was very clean and comfortable.
This was absolutely the best Riad in all of Morocco for us. They are amazing professionals who really care about their costumers. We will return! Forget about half-truths and fake reviews, this is the best of the best.
Small city of Meknes, really nice beedroom for the price, see photos, private bathroom, Salah was really nice answering all my questions, we had nice chats during my stay, always willing to help you.
Would come back
Positioning of the hotel is really good. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants, convenient stores, bus stops and almost everything that a traveler needs.
