Sapporo is very nice as its now winter.
Sapporo is very nice as its now winter. My family experience snowing for the 1st time especially at Otaru. The feeling of snow flakes coming down instead of the usual rain in other country. So many nice place to to go but we do not have much time. Will plan a longer trip next time. Will surely come back again for the fresh seafood.

Nice city laid out on a grid, NYC style.
Nice city laid out on a grid, NYC style. Lots of shopping, restaurants. Locals were friendly. Transport within Sapporo was easy with trains, busses, and a cable car. Per a lot of Japan, it is not very handicapped accessible. And, a warning: streets, sidewalks, and even Snow Festival walkways were covered with bumpy packed snow and ice. I saw a few tourists and locals fall.
The snow Festival is NOT wheelchair friendly, although one could borrow a wheelchair for free at the Festival.
There are opportunities to have day trips from Sapporo, I suggest renting a car for going to locations outside of Sapporo.

The snow and also the ice sculptures were amazing.
The snow and also the ice sculptures were amazing. The whole city was so well run to keep visitors safe especially while crossing roads in the icy snowy conditions. Also found the tram useful and easy to use. mt Moiwa was well worth the visit too. Hotel in excellent position and offered free coffee and ice cream in foyer for guests which was appreciated often.

Sapporo is a lively area, with lots of places to shop, eat and drink. Susukino was like a mini suburb of Tokyo; a great place to shop, with endless F&B outlets to choose from. The chocolate Factory is a must see. The trains and buses are fairly easy to navigate. From Sapporo station it takes about an hour to get to Teine ski resort and an hour and a half to Takino Snow World.
The LOCATION was its prime asset. Especially in winter, this was the best thing about our choice for this booking. The Higashi Honganji-Mae tram station was right beside it making movement around Sapporo very convenient. Walking to Susukino area was also a breeze. There was a Family Mart right across and a bigger Dinner Bell grocery at the adjacent corner. The winter view from the 6th floor was beautiful. For the New Year, the Higashi Hongan-ji Temple right across the property was ideal for the traditional bell-ringing ceremony, Joya no kane.
Excellent location, right next to Sapporo station, and close to city centre with restaurants. The rooms are not the most modern, but quite good overall and with very comfortable beds. The breakfast is a particular highlight of the hotel - there are two restaurants open for breakfast and the buffet downstairs has the largest selection I've ever come across in any hotel (a wide range of western, Japanese, Chinese and Korean foods, breads, pancakes, fruit etc). The staff are friendly and polite, the hotel was spotlessly clean.
Very nice hotel I'd book again when coming back to Sapporo. Nice, decently sized, nicely furnished room. Modern bathroom with roomy shower. If you come by car you'll find a generous underground parking garage fitting any size of car, quite rare in big Japanese cities. Location is also good. It's right at Toyohira River with a 15 minute walk to the entertainment area of Susukino. While a Lawsons is across the street there aren't many restaurants in short walking distance
Location is near Sapporo Station which is really good for me since I'm not keen on walking far like other stations in Odori or Susukino after my snowboarding session previously in Furano. Accessibility to convenience store is directly across the road or just 1 min walk out of the hotel on the left. Room is spacious for me and bath is also ok. I personally feel this is better than the Washington Hotel at Asahikawa that I stayed over 7 - 8 years ago with my mom.
The location was excellent. It is of walking distance to JR Sapporo station (about 20 minutes of walk underground) or you may take the subway and ride one station to Odori. The entrance at the back of the hotel is at the shopping street Tanukikouji and opposite to the hotel is a Donki store which operates 24 hours. A great hotel at snow festival as it is easily accessible to the snow festivals at Odori park and at Susukino.
1. very conveniently located next to Sapporo Station.
2. Nippon rent a car is within 5 mins walk .
3. Night car parking is within the hotel building . car park rate is reasonable.
4. many eateries and shopping to choose .
5. Buffet breakfast restaurant on 35th floor . splendid view And good choice of International and Japanese Selection.
6. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful.
7. room is of reasonable size and clean.
Excellent location just from JR Sapporo station North Exit West gate side. Bus and coach pick up and drop off here. Some onsen hotels have free shuttle pick ups here. Buffet breakfast is similar daily. Has fresh honey from combs. Great with toast. Some Hokkaido specialties. Luggage storage available. Has onsen. Dining area converted to guest lounge with free drinks from 3pm. Near Daimaru department store.
This was my fifth stay in Sapporo and my second time at the Vessel Inn. What we liked most is the amazing breakfast. The staff were very helpful providing ice packs and bandages for my wife after she fell on the icy street and broke her arm. The hotel is close to the subway, Nakajima Park and restaurants. The washing machines and dryers are helpful.
The view from my room was awesome, I could enjoy the city skyline. Very good location, 2 min walk to Nakajima Park Station and 25 min walk to Sapporo Station and Odori Park.
The hotel could be updated a little bit but other than that the value for money is excellent.
Staff was perfect as expected in a country such as Japan.
the room size is huge, theres a shuttle bus to sapporo station. making our transport more convenient especially during winter with heavy snow. price is reasonable and definitely will stay again. theres a beautiful nakajima park near the hotel, can take VERY nice photos there as well.
Very peaceful hotel in the middle of Sapporo. Rooms had beautiful views of the city and the staff were very accommodating with our requests. The lounge was very grand with seasonal complimentary drinks(which was a very nice touch). Everything was perfect.
I'd recommend a hotel in Sapporo that offers indoor parking, which is essential for travelers during winter. This hotel provides indoor parking for a fee, but it's convenient to use, and the parking staff are exceptionally friendly.
Location is great, you can easily find restaurants and famous spots. Price is competitive, even include breakfast. You can use parking lot across from the hotel, or some others nearby.
The hotel is a brand new one, just across the Sapporo JR Station. Very convenient if you just stay overnight in Sapporo. The hotel room is small, but very clean.
we loved that it got cleaned every single day. loved how close it was to Sapporo station (5-10 min walk) and there was a family mart right across the street.
very nice and convenient close to Sapporo station by crossroads. All kind of foods, deparment store, market just 5 minutes walk.
The breakfast was the best.
The staff were friendly. The hotel is in a good location within short walking distance to Susukino and restaurants. It's across from KING XMHU Night Club.
