The entire hotel (eventhough it is not the superfancy chain hotel) has fantastic vibe. It looks young and stylish. They have all the amenities as claimed in the description.
Hotel is clean and the staff is just amazing. Very polite, helpful and always with a smile. We sincerely enjoyed our stay. If I may recommend, try the room with traditional tatami instead of normal bed. Its spacious and it just a traditional way of sleeping.

So much to see, do and eat!!!
Go there. Just realise lots of other people go there too. Be patient or plan ahead to arrive earlier or late to popular sites.
If you are in a crowd, walk a bit further and you will find the crowd thins.

Kyoto is a beautiful and quaint town. Plenty to see & do. We stayed for 5 nights plus 1 night and did not cover it all. Leaving with a heavy heart, with a resolve to go back again.
The General Hotel Kyoto is very well located for interesting izakayas, bars, ramin places & nicer restaurants. It's close to the main street for higher-end shopping too.

I really enjoyed my stay at Webase Kyoto.
I really enjoyed my stay at Webase Kyoto. What really makes this place special is the staff. They are super friendly and really want to help you get what ever answers your help you need. They repeatedly went above and beyond. Even if they had to us a translator app to assist inthe communication. The room was small but clean and the facility very clean an comfortable. Added bonus to get a free snack in the morning and ramen at night. Thanks for a great stay!

So many beautiful locations, the only problem was too many dumb tourists! But I was there in Blossom season, so it's to be expected.
If you can, visit a major temple by 8am, it makes a big difference to be there before the worst crowds. Then after a break, you can go to a park, shopping or one of the less famous temples etc in the afternoon. Nijo-jo Castle absolutely stunning. Also smaller places, like Kyoto Museum of Crafts and Design. Exquisite! And hardly any others there.
Wear good pairs of socks, for locations when shoes must be removed.

As a person who spent part of her childhood in another part...
As a person who spent part of her childhood in another part of Japan, and has spent a lifetime travelling the world; I can say with all honesty that Kyoto is my favourite city in the world! I put it before Istanbul, Paris, London, Hong Kong, etc.
Kyoto is a perfect blend of rich traditions and modern playfulness. It is a city for everyone, young and old. I love to run along the Kamo River which cuts through the centre of the city. They have a building ordinance so buildings aren’t too high; the surrounding hills are ever present. It is also a very walkable city! Yet the bus system is easy to adapt to with Google being very accurate where and how to catch a bus, even advising cost. Kyoto is also a foody’s heaven, so much to choose from. I return to Kyoto over and over again because I can never get enough of it. But this trip found me spending 5 weeks trying to live like a local and I never tired of it. I look forward to returning again and again.

When visiting Japan, don't miss out on spending 2 or 3 days in Kyoto. This city offers a beautiful blend of ancient traditions and modern conveniences, featuring stunning temples, vibrant markets, and serene gardens. It's a must-visit for a complete Japanese cultural experience.
Beautiful Ryokan in the middle of Kyoto, walking distance to popular districts while having a relaxing location. The staff were beyond welcoming and made us feel at home. They provided traditional Japanese breakfast and dinner which was delicious. Sleeping in the traditional Japanese tatami beds was one of the best sleeps I've had, they provided pyjamas and yakata/robes to wear around the hotel. It was like a well serviced and welcoming BnB. I definitely would stay here again and wish I had stayed longer than 2 days.
we stayed for my birthday in this amazing place , the best experience we ever had in an “hotel” better than 5 stars hotels . Completely equipped, amazingly clean and the best quality everywhere around the house . Shin and Shohei were amazing with us , gave us loads of recommendations and help us in everything, what a lovely people . Dinner and breakfast was absolutely gorgeous and authentic Japanese food , we were speechless .
The garden was a magical space , that we enjoyed very much .
I loved how everything was always kept clean. They also provide free rental pajamas and towels, as well as the basic toiletries. The room was really cozy. I didn’t have that huge of a luggage with me so the space was just right for me. I also am happy that it’s right beside Gojo Station entrance, a McDonalds, and quite a few good restaurants as well! Kyoto Station was also just 15 minutes away.
I’d say, for the price, they’re among the best value for money hotel in Kyoto!
It was the best hotel we stayed in during our trip in Japan. Its aesthetic was amazing, combining traditional and modern interior design.
The room was super clean and comfortable. The stuff was polite and helpful.
The location was very convenient for sightseeing at Gion and Northern Higashiyama. Even if it’s not central, it offers a free shuttle bus hourly to Kyoto station that we used everyday.
We’d definitely choose this hotel again in the future.
One of the best and most family friendly hotel we have stayed in. The hotel is very spacious for a 4-member family and equipped with a small kitchen. Their guest room had complimentary coffee/tea. The location is quiet, and relatively accessible to most tourist spots in Kyoto.
There are English speaking receptionists and all staff are friendly, helpful and kind.
We had an excellent 2-night stay. I highly recommend this hotel for families or groups.
The hotel is relatively small and quiet, very clean, new and pleasant ambiance. Bed was comfortable. Location was perfect; next to metro station, within walking distance from some tourist objectives, as well as restaurants. Has a coffee & tea station station at reception. Also provides all basic needs (slippers, PJ, tea, water, etc.) in the room. Stuff is polite & helpful. Best price for the value (I stayed in 6 hotels during 3 weeks Japan trip).
Loved the customer service! Location was perfect for us: at walking distance from train station (15min), from city center (20min), from old town (30min). There is also underground stops at just 5 and 10min walk from the hotel. Although the best thing was the breakfast! It wasn't extensive but this made it easy and quick to grab and was actually very complete, with great quality food
Loved this house that has been refurbished beautifully. The tea room was lovely and the beds were the best we slept on in our three week holiday. Great convenient supermarket around the corner. Was great to be staying in a house amongst others rather than a faceless hotel. Quiet street not too far from main station or Kyoto or town centre.
Probably the best hotel I've ever stayed in. The location is great, 5 or so minutes walk from the central station. The staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke very good English, which is not that common in Japan. The room was very comfortable. They also have a great public bath that you can use without paying extra.
The best parts of this hotel - the view and the shower. Seriously, the location couldn't be better right in the Gion district. I'm glad I paid the extra lil better to have a superior room with a view. And the shower was huge; I'm going to miss it! Apart from that, the room was lovely and big.
Everything was wonderful! King room was very comfortable, staff were welcoming and helpful with recommendations, very clean, excellent location for exploring Gion and surrounds. Our best hotel experience in Japan!
Location. View from rooms. Spacious rooms. Very comfortable. Great service and staff. The location is the best. Right at the train station, close to restaurants and shopping malls. Temples, etc. Excellent hotel
Perfect hotel for our family of 4. Amazing location just outside Kyoto station with plenty of nearby restaurants etc. The breakfast isn’t the best for kids but they make do. Will be staying here next time.
