It was a great combination of a wonderful place to go for a holiday but also having a permanent population so it was a real place and not just somewhere only open for tourism in the summer. There ar many great beaches nearby and great wineries. We ate at several restaurants and were happy with the quality and price, only the ice-cream was over priced but at least it was nice. The ferry connection to Argostoli is also nice so you really have two towns in one!

Not very big town with square in the middle. A lot of restaurants and souvenir shops.. In the evening the restaurant are full of local people and tourists. The foods in restaurant are very tasty, fresh and cheap. There are small supermarkets, the shops with local fruits and veg, some small shops with ice cream, doughnuts, kebabs etc. Everyone find something for yourself.
The Fikia beach is sandy, the water is warm perfect for family with young kids. Ther is a shower, toilets and a changing room. Thare are three small taverns along beach whre you can buy some food and drinks at reasonable prices.

Lixouri is the second largest town in Kefalonia, with the capital Argostoli being the first. Lixouri is a beautiful town, with a beach, although we preferred the beach at lepeda, which is 30mins from the centre.
Lixouri has some lovely little restaurants and a handful of nice bars to have a cocktail or two in.
It has a very classy and cosmopolitan feel to it, the people are very friendly and welcoming and it has a nice family vibe. If you want a little more to do and see you can hop on the ferry to Argostoli that runs every 30minutes from the port.

Lixouri s nice place to stay but before you book, you should understand that the coast is facing east (i.e. not for sunset lovers). The surroundings, as well as the way from the airport to the town looks like limestone querry rather than touristic destination. There are surely more romatic and wooded loations on the island.
Nice restaurants - Mimoza, Agrogiali.

Beautiful place - we were about a 25 minute walk from the Nearest supermarket which we loved as you can walk in the sea on the way! A 25 minute ferry ride away is Agostoli which we visited a number of times with more great beaches and water sports which the children loved. Lots of lovely restaurants in Lixouri - would have liked to have stayed longer and explore a bit more. We didn’t hire a car and didn’t regret that at all.
Beaches can be reached on foot, but with a rental car you can go to all places on the island and swim in the best water in the world. Makis, the owner, helps all guests with whatever they need and is a person with great knowledge of and love for Kefalonia. After going to many hotels and places around the world I may say that the west side of Kefalonia stands out as one of the top places for a summer vacation and that Anchor Studios is the perfect anchoring point for exploration of the island in the footsteps of Ulysses.
It was one of the best accomodations we had in Greece. The room was very clean (we were surprised to find it was thoroughly cleaned daily) and quite large. The bed was also very comfortable.
The location is also very good, being close to the supermarket, restaurants, city center and a sandy beach (with shallow waters), all being reachable in a few minutes. Also, we found a parking spot for the car everyday on the street near the accomodation.
The staff was very nice and helpful (thank you for a great stay!).
Traveled for work and sun. Lucky with both. Hosts did their best. Internet was reliable for work. Mania beach 5 minutes drive has both secluded and a bit of a crowd section - left or right depending on your taste. Definitely play with mud. Fabulous beaches, like Agia Eleny (or Petani if you can park) half an hour drive. Avli restaurant recommended by host in town worth a visit (or two, or three). The bottle of kefalonian rose gifted at the end - yes, nice parting touch. Will see to go their again. Soon..
We were very happy from the moment we checked in, Manos was very helpful and was available at any time to answer our questions or help us to make the most of our time in Kefalonia. The view and standard of decor made our time when we weren’t out exploring very relaxing, the villa was cleaned too to bottom every day. We enjoyed walking into town in the evening for dinner, drinks or ice cream in the square. the location was also perfect for exploring the many lovely beaches on the peninsula.
Very clean, spacious and comfortable apartment very close to Lixouri. Villa Elena location is perfect for Paliki region exploration and practical to reach Argostoli by boat and the north part of Kefalonia too when the road towards Myrtos is open. The owners are very kind and helpful. There is also a nice taverna right behind the house. Parking is available and reachable through a rather steep dirt access (which is definitely normal in greek islands). Certainly recommended!

Kostas and his family are really good hosts, made us feel welcomed and they always made sure we have everything we need. thanks for sharing your fresh produce from the garden and also for all the extras that you have given us. we would totally recommend the apartment as it’s as described in the pictures, modern, clean, AC unit and necessary kitchen appliances. we hope we will see you again
Everything was exceptional! The host, Vasilis, was really great and gave us wonderful tips of where to go for beaches and food. All recommendations were top.
The appartment is very spacious, the view is amazing and the location allows to travel to many places/beaches. Everything was super clean, the bed sheets were impecabil.

The apartment is very comfortable and has everything you need. The washing machine was a lifesaver for us travelling with a small child. We considered renting somewhere in Argostoli, but Lixouri ended up being the right choice for us. Our favourite beaches were in this part of the island. Ann was super friendly and understanding, always very quick to respond. We would recommend her apartment to anyone without hesitation.
Highly recommend ! ! Good location near Lixouri 5 min , 30 min to Argostoli ( by ferry 20 min every 30 min ) and all the famous beaches 20-30 min with car including Myrtos ,Petani beach , Lixouri beach 5 min with car .

We arrived near midnight and were greeted by a gracious hostess. The bed is perhaps the most comfortable we’ve had on six visits to Greece. Parking is easy directly in front of the accommodation. There was a nice balcony with pretty sea views. The location is a five walk from the lively Lixouri main square. There is a large supermarket less than five minutes away.
I had a lovely big room that had nice views of the hillside & countryside. It was very peaceful & a great place to relax. My host were lovely, making me feel really welcome & part of the family. It's slightly old fashioned feel gave it a quaintness that I really liked. It was very fitting for the Island of Kefalonia. I would definitely stay again.
This is our second visit to the hotel which is in a great location. The breakfasts are decent but due to covid it is a queuing system to be served which was a bit frustrating but well ran after the first day with extra staff. The pool bar is run by attentive staff snd good prices all round.
The breakfast was wonderful with farm fresh eggs, garden tomatoes, olives, cheese and bread.
The location was fantastic. Offset in the hills, quiet and close to some of the nicest beaches in Kefalonia. This was our favourite part of the island.
The staff are so accommodating to my specific needs. Perfect location for evenings dining out in Lixouri. Comfortable beds / overall comfortable and pleasant hotel.
This was not our first stay and look forward to returning in future.
Lixouri is not in a typical tourist part of the island. We enjoyed being immersed in the Greek everyday life. The house is in a good place to reach the center on foot and the apartment is really nice and coozy.
Very nice place right by the beach, good homemade food, very friendly and helpful staff. Our son was all day at the beach amd we relaxed on the big yard between the hotel and the beach.
The host, Michael, was very kind and helpful.
The location is very close to Lixouri and is also very convenient for reaching all Western beaches of Kefalonia.
