Lively Kos Town is a tourist destination. If you are looking to do the three Islands cruise in 1 day, do it, but book down at the harbour rather through an agent or your hotel. Rather than paying 38 Euros per person, we got it for 20 Euros.
We received some great restaurant recommendations from the wonderful staff at the Diamond Boutique Hotel. We found the best restaurants were a couple streets back from the harbour restaurants.

There are a lot of interesting ancient sites and monuments (greek, roman and medieval).
It was very pleasant cycling along the coast to Tigaki beach (with hire bikes) for sunbathing and a leisurely lunch and then around the salt lake, to see the small flock of flamingos in residence there.
The town itself is a very popular tourist spot for families with lots of facilities.

Kos town at night was lovely.
Kos town at night was lovely.
Lots of ancient sites to see. but quite a few recommendations in our guide book (2022) are closed
The Mosque in the main square is fenced off and looks as if it has been that way for quite some time. The area around Hippocrates Tree is also fenced off and almost derelict which was a shame.
Good restaurants away from harbour, especially Iannos, and Ali.

Kos town is busy and vibrant. Some historical sights to see. Lots of bars/cafes and quaint shops. Love the tree lined streets. The harbour is lovely…. especially feeding the fish! Many boat trips available to other islands and ferries to Turkey. Long promenade ….. walked from Kos to Psalidi. Enjoyed the vibe as visited in October so probably not as busy as high season. Fairly flat so easy to access for anyone with mobility issues. Many and varied places to eat.

It is a very beautiful city where history, sun, sea and good food come together. It is very close to Turkey and can be easily visited. If planned well, you can easily go anywhere on the island by public buses. Especially Zia and Asklepion should be seen.

Kos felt hectic after being on Tilos for two weeks.
Kos felt hectic after being on Tilos for two weeks. However once you’re away from the front and the bars/restaurants it’s fine. Port easy to negotiate, both to other islands and to Turkey. Ruins are dotted around the town which is great. Old town shopping easy.
Excellent simple traditional hotel close to the centre of Kos town but quiet at night. I reckon the simplicity and humane friendly service is worth more than multi star spots round the corner. A good basic stopover for ferry hopping or yachties. Would be lovely with kids too as it's a short walk to the beach but not a sausage and chips seaside joint. A bit 1980s and all the better for it. We stayed one night and (against all expectations) would have happily stayed longer.
The aparthotel is clean, the rooms are spacious (ours had 2 large sofas) the air con worked well, and as others have said, it's a great location for places to eat, the harbour, and the sights of Kos town, and a good base from which to come and go.. The lady on reception in the morning is very helpful. They cleaned our room even though we were only there 2 nights, which was unexpected. They had a map of the city free for guests. It was fine for our needs.
Perfect location (15 min walk from port. Neighborhood is decent. Right by the sea). Great views from the room. Beautiful design. Professional and genial staff (special thanks to Ms Elif on front desk). Spacious room. Very comfortable bed. Sufficient breakfast. Espresso machine in the room (a big 🙌🏼) Also they upgraded our room which needs another thank you :). Probably one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in Greece. Wish we stayed longer..
We stayed in a apartment with beautiful balcony/terrace. The view was amazing. Apartment was very large and spacious. Location was perfect and you can walk to the Kos town. Beach was right in front of the hotel.
Staff was nice and caring. They give us very good tips of nearby restaurants and driving locations in Kos. Because of the tip we ended up in Zia, a beautiful hill town and must see if you visit Kos.
It’s lovely, clean, great balconies, beautiful views! Staff are friendly and helpful. And the location is PERFECT! Lots of resorts in and around Kos, but this one is right in the water, in town so close to all the restaurants and shopping and two restaurants in the hotel with patios on the water. And yet breakfast is awesome!
Excellent apartments and very well situated. The setting is almost like being out in the countryside, despite being an 8 minutes walk to Kos Town centre. Manos, the owner, is great, nothing is too much for him. The apartments are set in beautiful grounds, which are lovely to just sit and relax in.
Staff were excellent across the hotel, very attentive and nothing too much trouble. The hotel is immaculately clean and the room we stayed in was excellent. Taxi to Kos town was quick and cheap. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby but Kos Town has more variety.
Did the job perfectly for a one night stopover in Kos town. Needed to be near the port and this hotel is 100 metres from the boats. Let me store my luggage for z few hours after checking out. I will use again when in Kos next year.
The staff was awsome, breakfast was nice and enough. If you are planning to visit Kos the hotel is located at the center in Kos Town you can walk to the beaches, ferry port and bus stop to see the other areas at the island.
Amazing location in the heart of Kos town. Really close (3 minute walking) to shops, restaurants and bars, and the harbor. Hosts are super friendly and willing to help you having a great stay. Highly recommended!
Friendly and welcoming staff, nice gesture with complimentary welcome coffee and drinks.
We stayed as a family of 3 and it is highly recommended due to proximity to Kos town centre and welcoming staff members.
Decent hotel, close to the harbor. a bit older, but clean and good enough. Staff at check-in were great. a good spot to post up for one night if you're getting a ferry in the morning
it is a family run hotel and everybody is doing their best to help the guests. they are very friendly and Gulsen Abla is very helpful to us in terms of giving advice for beaches.
