We were greeted by a friendly staff member who was extremely helpful. Parking is right along the road and we easily found a spot. We dropped off our luggage and left immediately for the monasteries to capture them in the beautiful evening light. The room is tight, yet cute. the bed was comfy. The breakfast buffet was nice.

One of the friendliest staff that I encountered. Hotel staff went out of the way to make us feel at home. Always smiling. Always checking to see how they can make our stay even better.
Rooms are very well equipped and the beds are very comfortable.

The monasteries are lovely but the public transport (bus) to move around them is limited if you only want to visit one or two. Our time was limited so we took the 9am bus up to the main meteron monastery and walked down to Varlaam and Rossenou (St Barbara) convent. We were finished here by 12 but had to walk back to Kalambaka as there was no bus until 14:30 and we had a bus to catch for our onward journey. We walked down to Kastraki and had a quick bite and walked on to Kalambaka. It was an easy walk and took about 40 mins but this was in April so not too hot.

Kalabaka is a city with traditional houses and Meteora is very close. You can visit some of the monasteries. We went to the museum of physical history with animals and birds that lived there, which was very nice, to the mushroom museum and to the digital projection center of Meteora's history and culture. The food also was excellent.

The monasteries of Meteora are place of spiritual renewal.
The monasteries of Meteora are place of spiritual renewal. The Byzantine art and the historic architecture elevate the soul. I was fortunate enough to half ten minutes alone in the chapels of both the Varlaam and Holy Trinity monasteries in between the flow of tourists and found it to be peaceful and prayerful. The natural scenery of the area, including the sunsets, has no equal anywhere I have been, and watching the sun change the colors of the rocks and the monastery buildings as it set in the west was truly amazing. Kalabaka is a bit built up and a mile or two further away from the rocks. Stay in Kastraki for a really Greek village experience.

Kalambaka is an interesting small town with many restaurants, gift shops, souvenirs shops. But the main attractions are the mountaintop monasteries from the 14-15th century that seem to float as you look up.
Taking a tour is very helpful because you get the history of the area and the monasteries, and you do not have to concentrate on driving.
Don’t forget to visit the Natural History Museum and the Mushroom Museum housed together. We have such respect for mushrooms now!
The hotel is conveniently situated only a few kilometers from the "suspended in the air" monasteries atop of the spectacular rocks of Meteora.
The room had a small terrace , offering a breathtaking view of the gigantic rocks.
Inside the room, a complimentary basket of apples and a bottle of wine and mineral water in the refrigerator.
A few steps away from the hotel may be found some tavernas, offering specific Greek meals.
The breakfast had a good variation, including vegetables and fruits.
We really enjoyed our overnight stay at the hotel. The best thing about it are the great views of Meteora from the balcony. Picture Perfect! The hotel is quite large and spacious, plenty of parking in front of the hotel. The rooms are clean and fine although and basically comfortable. Also - don't forget to bring your bathing suit if you want to enjoy the spa with its swimming pool, sauna, salt room and hamam. A lovely way to wind down your day after hiking Meteora's cliffs!
This hotel is a little gem. The views from the poll, most of the rooms and dining area are just breathtaking. We had a room with Meteora view and it did not disappoint. So if you ask me it’s worth paying extra.
The pool has enough sunbeds to enjoy whole day or just some afternoon swim after stroling around in greek heat. ;)
Breakfast is diverse and there is something for everyone. And also the kitchen for lunch or dinner is excellent.
All in all really good choice.
The best hotel we stayed in our 10 day trip to Greece! The people were so amazing and friendly and helpful! We loved the lady who made the breakfast (which was delicious by the way) she was so sweet and friendly we wanted to adopt her to be our yiayia! We didnt have time to use the pool but it looked so cool! Very close to the train station you have to cross the tracks to get there, or you can go around if you have big luggage. Thank you so much for everything!
The best thing about the hotel is it's view in the morning when you're having breakfast. If it's warm enough and you can sit outside, you should definitely do this! It's also a very short drive up to the monasteries. The included breakfast was better than anything you'll find in the states, which has been the case at every place we've stayed at in Greece. The room was not huge, but not small. It more than met our needs.
Very nice and helpful staff. The breakfasts were fabulous---lots of options and homemade dishes, all delicious. The hotel has beautiful views of the Meteora. The Lobby is very classy and lovely. The grounds are lovely, with flowering plants and fruit trees all over. Many places to sit outside and enjoy the wonderful views. We enjoyed walking into the town of Katraski. Our room was clean and comfortable.
Room was nice, rather small but I was only there for 2 nights so it was fine. Buffet breakfast was available and the staff there is lovely and always ready to help. Location is near the meteora, if you want to head out to Kalabaka you will need to drive. Also, staff was really nice - I left something behind at the hotel and they messaged me after I left to see if I would like to come back to collect them.
The host was extremely welcoming. We arrived around 9 pm and he was waiting for us. Gave us a map and explained everything we need to know and see.
The location of the hotel is great, 5 min away from everything (on foot), and the fact that there is a parking in front it made it even better. Our room had a view towards Meteora. It was very clean, and the sheets pristine white.
I would go again.
The room/entire hotel had spectacular views of the city of Kastraki and the rocks of Meteora. The breakfast and coffee were exceptional each morning, with an adorable seating area with a view. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was large and had a very comfortable bed. Since the hotel is nestled in the rocks near the top of the city hill, the evenings were quiet and serene.
The hotel is located at the begging of the village but that’s okay because the village is small and there are tavernas literally everywhere- you walk a few minutes only. We had a nice view from the balcony (rocks of Meteora). The host was polite. The hotel was well furnished, but it’s the old one so also the room was old style furnished. Beds were comfy.
The hotel room is small, but very cozy and with a good view of the mountains. Everything is nearby, the best restaurant, shops, and a tour desk, where we booked an excellent excursion (30 Euros per person) “Watching the sunset at Meteora.” This is an unforgettable place. as if we had visited another planet.
Only an 8 minute walk from the train station. Easy 5 minutes to centre of Kalambaka. Great view. Receptionist was so accommodating in switching our room when we didnt have the bed selection we had booked. Quick to respond for recommendations for tavernas. All around fantastic hotel
First of all the hostel was very clean . Also owner of the hotel very helpful person even he gave me skirt for the wear during the meteora tour :) 15 minutes walk from the train station and the bus staion for to go meteora just across the hostel
Very nice place thank you
it is on the Main Street of Kalambaka, 8 minutes walk from the train station. Many restaurants are on the same street as the hotel. We booked a room with a balcony facing the Meteora rock formations.
Great location! Amazing HUGE breakfast! Exceptionally friendly husband and wife owners! One of our favorite hotels we stayed in on our 2-week trip across Greece.
The hotel had a fantastic view! We could see the Meteora rocks and two of the monasteries! Also the location was very good! The Staff was very helpful!
