Kalamaki centre is based mostly around a single wide road lined with a variety of restaurants, cafes, bars, tourist shops, car rentals and tour operators. There are a few beaches to choose from, all of which face into Laganas Bay with clean water and good views.
During our stay we ate at a number of restaurants. Among these I particularly recommend the Pandesia restaurant for its friendly staff and theatrical food presentations, Buon Amici for its excellent house wines and food (Italian), and the Olive Tree.

Kalamaki is a great family resort.
Kalamaki is a great family resort. We have stayed here roughly 9 times over the past 20 years with and without kids.
10 minute walk to the beach which is lovely and clean.
5-10 minutes to plenty of restaurants and shops.
Nice choice of hotels.
We have stayed at Denny's inn (about 4 times) the Roseland, the Venus, Antonis apartments and now Ionion Blue. Loads of other nice hotels to choose from.

Dirt, mess, lots of stray animals everywhere, at every turn you are offered tours around the island, they lure you to restaurants. Typical dozen resort, only tourists everywhere through travel agencies, hotels and crappy public transport (almost none). It was our first but at the same time last visit to Kalamaki. Never again.

Great base for the rest of the island. Good safe beaches. Lots of tours on offer. Went everywhere on foot in the village. Cheap buses to capital, reasonable car hire. Only caution we went end-of-season (October) so cannot vouch for high season. Definitely going back there again
Vanessa Hotel was an amazing way to start my travels. It was very close to the airport and easy to get too. Located in a cute, busy town it was easy to walk around. If you need something there are various stores around to go to. The street has a lot of food options too! The staff at Vanessa were lovely people and I was happy to have made friends there. The folks working at the bar were very welcoming and fun. Even though my stay was short, I will remember it with fond memories.
A quiet hotel, newly renovated, clean and beautiful.
Everything was great. I really enjoyed the pool, the trees, the facilities. We stayed for 7 nights and we had a wonderful time.
The beach is very close, like a 5 minute walk. Very clean and quiet.
There are shops close by that have everything you might need on a holiday.
There is a car rental agency close to the hotel, but taxis are also easy to find. You can book one by phone or ask the receptionist to help you.
The hosts were so welcoming. They would go out of their way to help out, including giving us lifts into town, and they treated us like family. The accommodation is well located between Zakynthos Town and Kalamaki away from the noise but that does mean a car is essential. The pool was great for cooling off and the number of rooms is fairly low so you never felt like the pool area was overcrowded. We'll definitely be back
This is the nicest hotel in Kalamaki, recently renovated. Very nice bathroom, brand new. Very clean, friendly staff, excellent breakfast buffet. Nice pool terrace overlooking the beach.
Initailly, I was given a room with very limited seaview due to restaruanf roof toop, but I complained and on the following day I was able to move into a room with much nicer view of the sea (I booked room with a seaview).
This was the perfect place for visiting the island. It is close to Kalamaki beach (5 min by car) and to the two cities of Laganas and Zakynthos. The property is stunning - the villa is very clean and has everything you may need. The garden is the best part! And Alex is the best host, he showed us all the places to visit, suggested many restaurants, and helped us to find a rental car.
it is really good hotel , very calm, just nice tourists around, not so many young people. The food was almost every day different and it was very tasty. From seafood till transitional Greek food . The swimming pool was clean and quite big. always was snacks by the pool . The room was big, air conditioner was working very good. All was perfect
Only a five minute drive to the town of Zakynthos or Laganas and a short walk from Kalamaki beach. The kids loved the pool. The rooms are quite spacious and have a well equipped kitchen. Good breakfast at reasonable prices.
Overall extremely good value for money and a no-brainer reservation for our next visit to this beautiful island.

Hotel was very clean, stuff was very nice and helpful. It was very near to the beach as well as to the street restaurants and bars however in a distance that guaranteed quiet. Pool was nice with many sun beds available. The pool bar was good with many food and beverage choices. Breakfasts were ok.
the staff was so kind! specially Maria in the reception and Tamara from the restaurant were amazing with us, it was our honeymoon so they gave us a better room and champagne to congratulate us. The hotel is great and the view is amazing. I totally recommend
We booked a last minute holiday with this hotel. And it surpassed our expectations. Lovely room, lovely surroundings and delicious food from the delights bar attached. 5 minute walk from the beautiful kalamaki beach. Was a holiday to remember!
The house and the complex are amazing! Very clean and beautiful, with nice pool and restaurant area. Carol and everyone were so hospitable, ready to help you with everything you need. Definitely recommend it for your stay at Zakynthos!
The beach was close, long with good sand and crystal clear hot water, even though you had to cross a street to get to it, it is strange that the Hotel is called Klelia BEACH hotel.
