We stayed in Santorini for 8 days whichw as too long. We did a trip to Crete for only 4 days and should have switched that around as Crete is a much bigger island with more to do.
In Santorini we booked taxis ahead of time for transfers and we ended up catching buses in between which was much cheaper and more fun!
Weather in October was nice but chilly in the evenings.

You never needed to travel for the Sunset while staying at FIROSTFANI! It was the best spot for photos. The restaurants were all equally amazing especially with the views of the caldera. Getting around was not a problem if you wanted to take the bus or catch a taxi. The month of September was pretty perfect since you did not need to deal with all the hustle and bustle of the tourists.

We stayed here in Firostefani for 3 nights. We really enjoyed it. Firostefani is the perfect town to stay at in Santorini imo. It isn't crowded like Fira or Oia. It's not too quiet like Imerovigli either. It has some shops and restaurants, but nothing too busy or noisy.

A really central location with terrific caldera views! Depending on where you stay, there are some places In Firostefani that require fewer steps to navigate compared to other locations along the caldera. There are also some great restaurants at reasonable prices.

I really do not like Firostefani any more.
I really do not like Firostefani any more. I have been there 3 times, the first time in 2005 when I really loved it. The second time, in 2015, I still liked it, however, I would not go back there any more. Too many tourists. Five huge cruise liners would drop off their passengers each day and, together with the tourists staying on the island it became a bit of a nightmare. We did travel throughout the entire island with a hire car, which was great, and also undertook a an afternoon cruise on a yacht, which was fantastic.
Santorini has a lot of stairs. On our arrival, we were met by a gentleman who managed to carry our 4 large suitcases, 2 at a time, down the long flight of stairs to the hotel. He did the same for our departure. Incredible service.
Hotel was cool - built into the mountain like a cave. Amazing views, especially from our room's private rooftop deck with hot tub. Amazing place to have a glass of wine and soak up the sunset views.
Location was excellent. Surrounded by restaurants and a short walk from Fira, the center of town.
Good Location. Downside (by nature of the place) is you have to take a lot of steps to climb down/up like majority of the hotels in Santorini. Apartment was well maintained and traditional cave apartment. Fits 5 to 6 people easily or small families. Costas(manager) was extremely helpful in giving recommendations on things to do and places to eat. All of them were superb. Yannis (porter) helped with carrying the luggage from car parking to the house and a walk through. That is very much needed as the steps are more and steep.
Its an excellent place to stay in Santorini, its located about 15 min walk from Fira bus station, the room was very comfortable, spacious and clean! You find coffee (to prepare) with croissant every day, thats nice to start your day. The place is very quiet and has a great view to the ocean, the jacuzzi was great to finish your day. Right next to the hotel you can find restaurants and a mini market. Angeliki is very kind, helped us with early checkin and gave us directions and very useful tips for our trip!
My stay at Villa Firostefani was absolutely delightful. The breathtaking views of the caldera and Sunset are just a few seconds walk from the hotel. I couldn't have asked for a better location in Santorini.

First and foremost, the staff: friendly, welcoming and available! The location is excellent, with a superb view of the caldera (volcano) and close to several bars and restaurants. The hotel has deals with local car and motorcycle rental companies, which delivers autos at the hotel, as a great convenience. The building is a typical Santorini construction and the room views are wonderful. Breakfast is served in the room and it is BIG! As tasty! We highly recommend this hotel.
This is an excellent place to stay while in Santorini. The location is very convenient, while slightly removed from the bustling crowds. It was easy to find parking near the hotel. The room was very clean and the fixtures were modern and new. Best of all, the owners are incredibly friendly and helpful, and made our stay in Santorini more enjoyable. I would easily stay again and highly recommend it for others.
We reserved the Family Room at the end of September, and it was perfect for our group of three. The rooftop pool view was TO DIE FOR. Our friends don’t believe the pictures we took were real. Proximity to Fira and Imerovigli made our outings easy. Even though we had a car, most of our time was spent exploring the stone pathways and Caldera trail to enjoy Santorini at its best. The rooms are very pleasant. Good bed and nice shower. Sula in reception was very helpful with excellent restaurant recommendations, and her colleagues were equally helpful with directions to Santorini locations. All were helpful with securing transportation. Lovely eastern view from the Afrodete Firostefani, walking distance to good restaurants with caldera views, and the central square and shopping.

Yannis at reception really took his time to welcome us to Santorini for our honeymoon and recommend places to visit and how best to navigate. George at the pool bar is personable and passionate about making drinks. He made us a honeymoon signature cocktail. We had a fantastic stay.
On the day of the arrival the receptionist was really friendly and gave us a map and indications of the most attractive spots in Santorini. The room was great with a cute balcony and the hotel had a nice swimming pool. Overall was a great price/quality relationship and the staff was always very helpful making it a great place to stay!

Great location with amazing view of the sunset. Very clean and Panos gave us great recommendations to help us decide what we wanted to do. Right next door there is a restaurant “Mama Thira” with excellent food and the owners and staff were great. All of these things made our stay in Santorini a great one.
