We were looking for a quiet place to stay, after some busy travel time. This place was great. I imagine it is more active in the summer months, but we were looking for peace and quiet. Lots of restaurants nearby, though we chose to cook quite a bit because we've been on the road for a while. There were a couple of things we would have like to see (Archeological Museum and Botanical Gardens) but they weren't open yet. That's okay. We come to Greece in the off-season and know what to expect.

It was our first time to Kefalonia, so weren't quite sure what to expect.
We wanted to stay somewhere busy and real, rather than a purpose built resort, so we chose Argostoli. Our first impression was that it did seem quite rundown, especially along the front, but we very quickly changed our views and saw the place for what it is - a busy, working town which was what we wanted. The first night we walked a short distance from our accommodation and soon came across the main square and the numerous streets leading from this which were filled with bars, restaurants, shops, entertainment and that was it for us - we were hooked!! Argostoli is an amazing place, there's lots to see and do, you can visit all the different resorts and great beaches really easily by bus or taxi (if you don't want to hire a car or bike), it has great nightlife, lots of shops, and lovely restaurants serving all types of food. There's plenty of fast food & takeaways if you just want to grab something quick to eat and there's loads of coffee shops. We didn't get chance to do a boat trip or see many of the sights as we were only there for 4 nights, but this is something we definitely want to do on our next visit to the island. Give the place a try and I hope you love it as much as we did!!

It was my second stay in Kefalonia.
It was my second stay in Kefalonia. This time I booked an apartment in Argostoli itself. Previously, I didn't have the opportunity to visit the entire city. Now it turns out that the city hides a lot of positive surprises. The city is beautiful and vibrant. There's nothing missing there. Restaurants, bars, promenade, handicraft shops, main square. A wonderful city, but you need at least a few days to discover its beauty.

Beautiful town.
Beautiful town. Impressed at how walkable / pedestrian friendly it all felt. Loved seeing the sea turtles in the harbour. Beautiful tavernas along the quayside. Wonderful quick, regular and cheap ferry trip across to Lixouri. Walkable to Lassi where there are beautiful beaches and lots of eating places. Argostoli has lots of amenities (food shops, pharmacies, ATMs etc)

Argostoli is an attractive town, spread out along a bay.
Argostoli is an attractive town, spread out along a bay. It provides a good base for exploring the island. You can use local buses to get to nearby beaches: we liked Kalamia beach (quite low key). The ferry to Lixouri, over the bay, is a very pleasant 30 minute ride and there is a beach on the edge of the town there. You can get to Asos (lovely)and Fiskardo (very crowded with tourists) by bus, but get to the bus station early to get your ticket. Agia Efimia is also a pretty town and has a shingle beach with crystal clear water and you can get there by bus. Buy some beach shoes to save your feet from the shingles! To see the loggerhead turtles, go down to Argostoli harbour in the morning, when the fishing boats are throwing scraps into the water.
Kefalonia is a beautiful island.
The owner family is welcoming, kind and helpful. The apartment is spotless, spacious, cozy, and it feels like we are at home. It is cleaned every day. The kitchen is also well equipped with coffee maker, toaster, microwave, kettle, washing machine etc. It has one bedroom and a living room with a sofa bed, a bathroom and two balconies. Ideal for families. It is not far from Argostoli by car and it is a good base for exploring Kefalonia. The surrounding is a quiet residential area.
Every thing you want in a large comfortable home. Loacation in the centre of Argostoli, next to main square. Shops and port within two minutes walk, lovely secluded garden, large rooms, multiple bedrooms, clean, all facilities you could want. Eva met us at the apartment and provided us with lots of local information and was so kind and helpful throughout our 8 day stay. We have travelled the greek islands for over 15 years and this is the best place we have ever stayed in.
We are so happy we decided to stay at King A. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family. The hotel is perfectly decorated, the mattress is extremely comfortable, the water pressure is amazing, and the location is perfect. The memories we made here during our stay will always stay with us and we are so happy to now call the owners our friends. They are genuinely amazing people. We can’t wait to come back next summer! Thanks for everything :)
Very lovely boutique design hotel located directly in the centre and at the marina. Perfect walking distance to the pedestrian zone. The service staff was very pleasant and supportive. Especially Martha at the reception recommended us very good restaurants and organized the bookings as well as taxi transfers to different locations. When we get back one day to Argostoli, Kefalonia Grand Hotel will be our first choice.
We fell in love with Kefalonia for its nature and beauty but also because we felt immediately at home. Yannis and his wife are the most caring, kind hosts and the best cooks! We had dinner twice in their cute garden with an amazing view and both food and drinks were delicious. The rooms are also very clean with a sea view ♥️. We were really sad to leave this place - a big thank you to them
Again 🙏🏻 we will be back.
Location is perfect. Right across from the ferry station to Lixouri. Walkable distance to all restaurants, shops, grocery stores and bakeries. Stayed at the 2 bedroom suite. It has everything that you need in the apartment. Our greeter Athina was amazing and very helpful. I would definitely go back when I return to Kefalonia. Please keep up the great work and maintain the high standards.
We arrived after midnight but Chris and his Mum were there to meet us and show us our studio. The views from the property are exceptional and the pool the best we have ever had. The studio was very clean and comfortable and the owners were on hand to ask if we needed anything. It is best to rent a car or bike on Kefalonia because public transport is a bit sporadic so we will next time.
Andreas was an amazing host and gave is information about the whole island and what we could do. We also stayed in other places in Kefalonia but 10 days after we stayed with Andreas we asked him if we could drop of our bags so we could walk freely one last time through Argostoli before taling pur flight home and that was no issue at all. incredible host, incredible central location.
Breakfast was excellent a wide selection of foods to choose from, buffet style where you can eat as much as you like, lots of health options to choose from. Location right on the water front, road can be noisy at times however this is not the hotels fault. Lots going on, plenty of places to eat in walking distance. Closest beach is in walking distance if you fancy a good walk.
This was an incredible home and the hosts were exceptional. The location was perfect in a quiet area with local cafes, bars, shops and restaurants. We had everything we needed for our week long stay in October. We preferred being in Kefalonia at the end of the season and this has to be one of the best places our family has stayed in. A brilliant outdoor garden to enjoy too.
The location of the hotel was right in the heart of Argostoli: a short distance to restaurants and shopping places. Easy to rent a car or take a taxi to explore Kefalonia, next to the hotel is the possibility to take a ferry to the neighboring islands. The service was friendly and helpful, the room with the sea view was breathtaking
The shower was relatively small for someone around 1.85m. Furthermore, the breakfast didn't have the options I thought there would be for a hotel stay of that price. Also, I didn't mind that the balcony didn't have good view, but you couldn't even stand, given that it was around 30cm width. On the other hand, the location was great.
It was exceptionally clean, nice big rooms, kitchen supplied with everything you could need. Great little back terrace. All the restaurants in walking distance, you need the car only for the beautiful Kefalonia beaches. Very nice and helpful host.
The property is in an absolutely perfect location for Argostoli. Not too far to explore the cafes and shops by the waterside and square, but not too close either, so noise is minimal. A great view of the ‘I 🤍 KEFALONIA’ sign, as well.
The hotel was fantastic. We enjoyed the aesthetic of the lobby, the cleanliness of the rooms, and the attentiveness of the staff. The food was excellent, as were the cocktails, and the complimentary breakfast was a highlight.
Nicely decorated attic, very spacious, excellent location to explore Argostoli on foot and the island of Kefalonia by car or public transport. Anna-Maria, the host, took care of every detail to make our stay wonderful!
This is a lovely little hotel with everything for a comfortable night. They even offer room service, albeit with only a few food choices. Appreciated the English language TV channels. Breakfast buffet was excellent.
Everything, Best location, great room and facilities, beautiful room decor, new and modern, right in the center of everything, attentive hotel personal.
Overall just perfect.
