The room was excellent, dinner was fine and breakfast was disappointing as there weren’t enough staff on duty. My daughter’s scrambled egg was cold and we didn’t see anyone to tell. We mentioned it at checkout and the lady didn’t apologise

We loved the hotel, the room was really comfortable! The restaurant was perfect, they dealt with my dairy intolerance really easily! There was nothing I wanted but couldn't have! Nothing was ever too much trouble! This was the second time we've visited Dartmouth and stayed in Browns and both times they have exceeded our expectations!

Being February it wasn't beach weather and we only did a two night mid-week trip. We visited the charming local museum and strolled around the narrow streets and local shops. Dartmouth is built on two sides of a valley but if you don't like walking up hill there is a regular bus to take you around town. We took advice and booked restaurants ahead. The Royal Castle Hotel offers a really good menu in a pub setting where the food and service were excellent. We also ate at the Embankment where the menu is not so traditional but the food was excellent. We took a boat trip with a very entertaining and informative commentary. Sadly the steam train from Kingswear wasn't running mid-week out of season but we drove to Buckfast Abbey which is well worth a visit. Finally we lunched at Rockfish, majoring in fish of course, another excellent meal to set us up for the drive home.

Loved being by the river.
Loved being by the river. Ferries for vehicles or on foot very close to Bayards and reasonably priced.
Ample gift shops, food stores, museums, Information Building (excellent staff) to help.
Walks and historical landmarks nearby, Bayards Cove, Dartmouth Castle (a bit expensive for what we saw and cafe closed an hour earlier than the castle), historical walks to castle.
Plenty of pubs, eating houses etc.
Some restaurants exceptionally expensive but with so many £m's of pounds worth of yachts and boats in harbour, they would cater for everyone.
River cruise lovely to Ditsmarsh there and back, viewing Agatha Christie's house alongside the river.
Could probably stay a week (as opposed to 3 nights) and still enjoy Dartmouth.
Was told that February/March is a good time to visit as Dartmouth is not "too full" and you can get into the pubs and restaurants without queueing. However, some river boats not operating until March/April or May but there were adequate amounts operating for number of people in Dartmouth during February.

The River Dart estuary is just stunning, full of bobbing boats - there's so much to see and do in Dartmouth itself. Full of history, beautiful old buildings, hidden gems, cobbled streets and a long waterfront that entices you to walk, either to Dartmouth Castle or Dittisham. Don't miss the Dartmouth Museum, book into a few of the fabulous restaurants, some with a Michelin star, and a tour of the Naval College if you have time!

We were only there for one night (unfortunately) have been to Dartmouth many times before but never stayed at Waterfront House. We couldn’t fault it. Lovely comfortable room with magnificent view and it was so quiet. Breakfast was excellent and the owners/managers were very nice.

The location was close walking distance to the centre of town and the restaurants, cafes, historical sites and the shops.
We had delicious meals at the Anzac St Bistro, Bayard’s Cove Inn Restaurant and fab coffee at Woodroast cafe.
We would have liked just one more night ….
The house is situated in a perfect location. It does not come with a parking place but we managed to park our car at Sainsbury´s (Horizon Parking). There is a park and ride just opposite from Sainsbury´s but only available via Ringo app (for UK phones only). We enjoyed our stay in Dartmouth very much the house was spacious and comfortable with lovely views just over the road is a field and playground for kids. Plenty of restaurants nearby is also M&S Foodhall. We enjoyed the walks, crab fishing and shops. We would come back again.
Our room was perfect in every way, with an excellent view over the harbour and the river. It was very clean and well appointed. We appreciated the availability of hand sanitisers around the hotel. Location was perfect, and the food that we had was of a high standard. Despite general staff shortages all around Dartmouth the staff at the hotel were all working very hard to ensure that their guests were well looked after. We cannot praise them enough, they were very helpful and friendly.
Property was beautiful. It was clean and the breakfast was outstanding. Neil was a fantastic host and looked after us very well. Beautiful views from the dining room of the hills, Dartmouth and Dart. Would be lovely eating out there during the Summer. The property is high up but we are good walkers so didn’t cause us any issues. Taxis and buses are also an option. Great for parking too which is a godsend in Dartmouth.
This property was everything you could need for a stay in Dartmouth. Location was excellent - right in the centre and within easy walking distance of everything.
Accommodation itself was very nice - clean, good size, attractive decor, comfy bed, plenty of light, great bathroom.
We loved the 2 balconies, especially the private one to the side.
All in all a wonderful stay.
We’ll be back for sure!
Location was excellent and as we managed to get parked we used all the local transport to get to steam train & Paignton (ferry from pier) Brixham (bus from Kingswere) and pleasant walk to Dartmouth Castle with small boat ferry back to pier (passing the Mermaid). Would also recommend walking on to Berry Head Hotel in Brixham to enjoy a drink or lunch in their garden overlooking the bay.
Beautifully appointed room, great breakfast and Nikki and Mitch are the very best hosts!! Bistro food is outstanding. Location is quiet but so close to the best areas for discovering historic Dartmouth. We were warmly greeted, and treated like family during our four night stay! A warm and cozy retreat to come back to after a day of exploring. Highly recommended!!!!
This property is smack bang in the middle of Dartmouth, the location could not be any better, it’s clean, tidy and well maintained. The parking space you get with the property is right next to the front door and not a squash like most parking spaces in Dartmouth! This property is dog friendly as well so even the pooch had a lovely time!
Very comfortable accommodation where the host had added homely touches as well as a really well equipped kitchen. WiFi was stable so we could work remotely and our dog Milford appreciated Norton Park & surrounding area.
Also only 5-6 mins drive to Dartmouth waterfront and 2 mins to Sainsbury's & LIDL.
Beautiful property, very spacious. Brilliant location with parking in the centre of Dartmouth. Lots of shops and pubs nearby. Provided fans which was very appreciated in the hot weather. Dog friendly as long as they can manage stairs. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.
Bayards cove is tucked away down a side street of Dartmouth close to the estuary. The inn is ancient, beautifully restored, atmospheric and cosy. There were lots of thoughtful touches, well appointed room, welcoming staff and a delicious breakfast with loads of choices.
All round a really friendly hotel / B&B
Rooms all you need , fantastic views across to dartmouth , rooms beds really comfortable
loads of options for Breakfast ,
Definitely return our host Niel Has a brilliant knowledge of the area which helps you plan each day.
good position in Dartmouth
5 mins walk and your right in
the town and by the river
very clean and everything
there even down to tea towels
and DVD collection for rainy
days
so near to Dartmouth but you
could hear a pin drop when you
go to bed
The only thing that surprised us that we were up near the top of a long hill, but as the Dartmouth town terrain is up the hillside from the river, we soon adapted. Otherwise, we were made to feel welcome and the stay couldn't have been better.
This apartment is spacious, clean and very homely. A great place to stay. Great location, in the heart of Dartmouth. We stayed in February and there were plenty of parking spaces in the nearby car park.
The Seale Arms is located in an ideal place for visitors to explore all that Dartmouth has to offer. Most attractions, pubs and restaurants are within a very short walking distance from the pub.
Perfectly located in lovely central Dartmouth —easy walk to shops, cafe, harbor. Comfortable bed, excellent wifi, sweet pantry in room with coffee tea drinks snacks.
it’s a lovely lovely Bar, Bistro hotel very close to all the amenities in Dartmouth - great place to stay! the food in the bistro is wonderful and tasty!
