FAQs about hotels in Cádiz

Spain’s Oldest Jewel

Cádiz might be a small strip of land, but being the oldest inhabited city in Spain, it means that it’s covered with monuments from different ages and cultures. Beautiful sandy beaches kissed by crystalline waters are also part of its magic, while you won’t be able to forget that you’re in Andalusia, land of music and passion.

Founded by Phoenicians, it had Greek, Roman, Arab and Visigoth influence, and the Age of Discoveries reclaimed its fame as port city. It became a cosmopolitan centre of commerce, enriching a heritage still visible in its historic centre. Don’t miss its narrow streets, colourful squares, the Roman theatre, and the imposing and eclectic Cathedral. Some of the most unique hotels in Cádiz are located in the Old Town.

The newer districts include wide avenues and contemporary buildings. These are the areas of Cádiz with a larger offering of modern hotels on the beach and apartments for rent. Restaurants and cafés serving great local, Andalusian and Spanish specialities are also easy to find.

The railway stations of Estadio, Segunda Aguada, and Central link the city with the rest of the country, while the nearby Jerez Airport is 47 km away. If thinking of visiting southern Spain, check out the Cádiz accommodation deals on Booking.com!

It is a city full of history, music and character, though often bypassed by visitors to Andalucia in favour of the Big Three - Seville, Granada and Cordoba. There are many great places to eat and drink, catering for all tastes, the locals are really friendly and helpful, and the beaches are fantastic. It's a good idea to leave the beaten tourist track around the cathedral, and wander through the narrow streets of the old town- It doesn't matter if you get lost as eventually you will reach the seafront and get your bearings.

We used the Voicemap Audio guide for Cádiz (just Google it). The entire circuit for the audio-guided tour spans just over 5 and a half kilometers, or about 3 and a half miles, perfect for a full morning or afternoon activity lasting around 3 to 4 hours. This includes visits to noteworthy monuments and stops for rest and tapas. Highly recommended! Cádiz is a fantastic small city to visit.

Open top bus tour great (economical way to get to our hotel too). Came with a guided walking tour so we got to see some parts we would have missed otherwise. Tourist information has maps with a great selection of self-guided walks. Very interesting and historical city. Two days was enough for us but, in warmer weather, could happily have stayed longer and enjoyed the beach more.

Have been here previously, a few years ago, but only for a day each time. First chance to walk the city properly. Much enjoyed, especially the bars serving 'tapas' meals. Being over the New Year many places (museums and restaurants) were closed which was a pity - but this justifies another visit as soon a possible! The places we did manage to visit were all interesting, and very reasonably priced - the only expensive place was the car parking, which is confusing to a visitor.

Cádiz has great long soft sandy beaches and a spectacular cathedral. Old town isn’t as polished as some other cities but it has a great genuine vibe. A must during carnival. There is a long straight road into the old centre. Lots of hotels are located here. They are either beachfront or just behind but it can be a bit of a long walk into old town. There is a seaside path though so it’s lovely. Just check the location before you book so you aren’t disappointed.

Beautiful apartment located right on the Plaza de San Francisco. Modern & stylish. Easy access to the center of old town of Cadiz— walk everywhere. Great for families— 2nd bedroom had two beds and a pocket door. It was also great to have an oven, which isn’t typical in many apartment rentals. The manager was responsive and communicative. Two beautiful windows with views into the plaza. We were able to park at an underground parking facility at Plaza San Antonio, then walk a few blocks to the apartment.

Since the hotel has 1 star on Booking, my expectations were somehow modest, but I could not have been more wrong! The hotel is amazing, worth 4 stars! The receptionist took care of a warm welcome and recommended what to see and where to eat in Cadiz. The room was spaceous, comfortable, well-equipped and perfectly clean - a very good value for money. The breakfast was delicious, something for every taste. A reasonably priced parking is located nearby, jusy a few minutes walk.

Lovely hotel set in a 'casa señorial', homely and welcoming. The staff were cheerful and very helpful. The whole place was clean and well kept. The bedroom was big with a spacious bathroom. In the central patio and in the solarium were a number of plants which made it seem that the windows opened on to a garden. There is a roof terrace where one can get a panoramic view of Cadiz. There is a roof terrace bar. In my opinion, one of the best places I've stayed in, in Cadiz.

The hostel didn't look like much from the outside, but quite lovely on the inside with a patio and furnished/decorated with love. Bathroom was outside of room, but there is almost one per room, so we never had to wait. Also, we had a sink within the room. Location was good, but to be fair, since Cádiz is small, every location within the old town is good :) Last but not least: Friendly host and various amenities available, for example we could borrow a beach umbrella.

The parking garage under the hotel means it is such a handy place to stay for those travelling by car to the wonderful historic city of Cadiz. The rooms, what can I say? Incredible. When we arrived the staff at the front desk was very friendly and offered us water and little bites to eat. She also gave us a map of the city and explained the city and attractions in the city. She made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. The building is beautiful and the rooms and beds are comfortable. The hotel is centrally located so once we parked the car we walked everywhere from there.
