It is a great place to go, not too crowded and very clean.
It is a great place to go, not too crowded and very clean. Expect the beach, not much other activities. I would recommend this place for beach holidays, however the wind in this region is very strong, which may make your trip change, and you may not be able to go to the beach..

Our visit to Bolonia was only the first of many more to come. We enjoyed every minute of our relaxing getaway. Everything is reachable on foot. Park your car and forget it. The atmosphere is laid back. Just what we needed. The food was excellent at all the places we tried (Las Rejas, Otero, Albero). There were a few horses wandering the beach as well as cattle coming in to cool off by the sea. Dogs are allowed at this beach. Lots of kite surfers on windy days. Do not miss a visit to the Roman ruins of Baelo Claudia. Although only 30% has been excavated, there is much to see and the museum is very informative regarding the process of making garum. I highly recommend a visit to Bolonia.

Amazing beach (one of the best in Spain) but be aware about wind because some days with East wind (called levante) maybe you need to go to a different beach or find an alternative like visit the Roman Ruins or practice windsurfing or kitesurfing.
People is nice and helpful.
You will find a lot of restaurants in Bolonia with different options to eat (pizzas, meat, salads, fish, etc.) I would like to recommend "Las Rejas" and "El Albero" both restaurants filling up quickly so you have to go early or make a reservation ("El Albero" doesn't take reservations), the service was friendly and attentive and the food quality was fantastic.

Bolonia is very picturesque with a laid back feel.
Bolonia is very picturesque with a laid back feel. Great base for a birdwatching holiday as close to La Janda and Barbate marshes as well as the local mountains where Griffon vultures breed. The roman site in the village is worth a visit. The beach is stunning.
Great location on the beach near the lovely Roman ruins with good cafes and restaurants around.
Bolonia is a coastal hamlet which gets busy with Spaniards in campervans on the weekend, but is quiet during the week. Felt like the Spain of 50 years ago.
Room had a recent makeover, kitchen had everything you need.
Shower, bed and location are amazing. Also, the hotel is just a few steps from the beach. We've got an upgrade, which we really apreciatte. And the breakfast is great, especially the orange juice. Staff was nice too!
There are beautiful views of Bolonia Beach from the bar/restaurant. Several rooms have outdoor terraces. Staff were very helpful about providing a gluten-free breakfast for my coeliac husband.
Fantastic hotel to stay next to Bolonia Beach.
They gave us a room with a beautiful view over the beach.
Easy to park behind the hotel.
Check out at 12.00.
