We went to Billund for Legoland and Lego House but found the town very accessible and charming. Everything was a short walk away, on paved pathways separate from traffic. There are so many accessible play structures and places to explore.
Eating options were a bit limited, so plan ahead. We went to Atami (all you can eat sushi served by robots) and did a grocery store picnic one night.

Two nights in Billund was plenty to see LEGO House. Our kids were too old to see LEGOland so staying town in was preferable. Good dinners both evenings at local restaurants. Bus to Copenhagen was a breeze, just be sure to book far in advance.

Drinks are very expensive.
Drinks are very expensive. Go to the supermarket and take with you. Resturants charge 35 (£3.50) for tap water. The playline is a fun way to get children walking to each place. Everything is within a 30min walk. Free WiFi in legoland and lalandia. Resturants in town are really not worth the money. The family buffet in legoland was worth the money. Amazing food, free drinks and coffee and ice cream. Lalandia have evening entertainment, so if you are staying in a basic room. I reccomend going there in the evening. You can get a decent meal, soft play is open till 9.30pm (£6 pp) bowling, mini golf, rock-climbing, alpine coaster, singers and stage entertainment.

Lego House excellent for all ages (be sure to visit the basement history exhibition) Legoland OK but aimed at pre teens - albeit with a few small rollercoaster rides
Good food at Gastropub next to Legohouse (but expensive , £80 for two burgers , 1 sweet and 3 drinks)
Good reasonably priced pizza an Mamma's
Billund bakery (on main street) great for coffee, cakes and sandwiches

Legoland was brilliant. We spent two days in the park.
Legoland was brilliant. We spent two days in the park. Friday was during term time so was quiet with no queues. Saturday was very busy.
My kids were at a good age 13 & 8. They were able to gon on everything. They are strict with the height restrictions.
Lalandia Resort is also worth going to situated right across the road from Legoland.
Billund is relatively small and you can walk to most places.
Buses run regularly but some are cash only. They will take euro.
Under 12s travel free.
Mamas restaurant was lovely as was the gastropub in Billund.
We booked a double room and a family room (double bed and bunks) for our family's visit to Billund and Legoland. Refborg hotel was lovely, we were made to feel at home by all the reception staff we encountered over two days. Beds were comfortable, breakfast was excellent. It was handy to have the supermarket across the road and, of course, Legoland was a 20 minute walk away. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there if we visited Billund again.
Very clean, cozy and warm room, very welcoming stuff. We were delighted with the animals of the farm!
Although it was the beginning of November with cloudy and rainy days, the farm itself looked very beautiful. We had a great walk there and made a lot of nice photos :).
The place is very close to the Billund Airport and LegoLand. There is a bus which you can use to reach those destinations. However it is quite rare and better to have a car.
We loved our house. It was clean and plenty of room for the 8 of us. We could walk to Legoland and even Lego House. There was also a train from the houses to Lalandia in case you don’t want to walk. The Aquadome at Lalandia was a blast. Highly recommend.
It’s a lovely property, well set up for extended families; especially welcoming of children, with a wonderful kitchen and lots of space to spread out. It is well situated in a beautiful rural area, with close proximity to Lego House and Legoland.
Great location with a separate entrance to the LEGOLAND.
Entertainments available for kids inside the hotel. nice lego decorations.
good breakfast buffet (pirate restaurant). Helpful staff when help was needed.
Really nice and not too expensive place for tourists. About 30-40 minutes on foot from Billund Airport, 20 from Legoland. There is enough place for 4 people. I was surprised with the well-equipped kitchen
Great location, close to Legoland but quiet. Perfect to relax after a day at the park. Wonderful playground. The kids loved the farm animals. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. We loved it here.
I liked the location of the apartment. It was really near the city center and also the Legoland was walkable distance away. We even walked from and to the airport but it is possible to take the bus also.
The room was spacious and had a good shower. It was close to Legoland and the centre of billund. Also only couple minutes walk from a bus stop. Good selection at breakfast. Games room for the kids.
The hotel locates near the most famous attraction in Billund: Legoland. It is also quite short way to walk to Billund center. The breakfast was good and the staff friendly.
I liked the distance to the airport and easy access to bus to legoland. And LEGO house also bus to odense near by ,the room was comfy ,the bed was nice ,
Great value for the money (compared to others in Billund). Within walking distance to Legoland and LEGO House. Absolutely great choice for a short stay.
