Situated within a few steps of Bawang Jamal Beach in Kudat, Barefoot Luxury at the Tip of Borneo features accommodation with seating area. This was a one bedroom lodge with its own deck overlooking the jungle and beach. It was rustic but v well appointed - we loved the geckos in the roof, and watching fireflies at night. Hibiscus beach is beautiful and a 10 min walk away is a fantastic cafe where you can eat in the beach and watch the sun set.

Set in Tiga Papan and only a few steps from Kalampunian Beach, Chalet Ombak Rindu Kudat offers accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. The location of the homestay is the best attraction. The beach is really right infront of the homestay and we can see the beach from the veranda of the homestay. In the morning, we practically have the beach to ourselves. During the night, we experienced a few blackouts. I think this is not the owner's fault. However, the owner provided us with portable solar lamp for our use in the house, which helped a lot. We really enjoyed our stay at this homestay and hoped we can come back another time.

Hawun Valley Kiulu features a hot tub and air-conditioned guest accommodation in Tamparuli, 39 km from Filipino Market Sabah, 34 km from Likas City Mosque and 39 km from Sabah State Museum & Heritage... The view in the morning and the friendly owner.Definitely will stay again.

Set in Bario in the Sarawak region, Zara Lodge offers accommodation with free private parking. This country house comes with a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen with kitchenware, and a TV. The homestay was clean and comfy making it feels like home. The location itself was only a walking distance to Pekan Bario.

Located in Kudat in the Sabah region, Tammoyo Place provides accommodation with free private parking. Some units include a seating area and/or a balcony. The lodge offers a children's playground. I never make time for reviews but this place deserves it. I booked 1 night, stayed 3, wish I could live there...Amazing location, beautiful quiet beach (and ok with beach campfires), massive portions of delicious homemade food at super reasonable price (easily accommodated vegetarian but would love to serve you fresh seafood), comfy and safe place (solo female traveller here and felt 100% comfortable at all times), many activities depending on your wishes. One of the best snorkelling locations I've ever seen (Belize has nothing compared to Banggi island!!). Best of all, I felt treated as a guest/friend rather than a source of cash. Host Romeo really went out of his way to make me happy. Cannot say enough good things....just go for yourself and you will be amazed

Fred, the owner, built this Ecolodge himself with a clear mission: to be 100% sustainable. Every aspect of the property reflects that goal—everything is green, circular, and thoughtfully designed. The lodge is impressively clean, well-maintained, and full of character. The rooms are spacious, freshly renovated, and each comes with its own private bathroom. We stayed in the Double Room, which was very comfortable and equipped with a fan—perfect for keeping cool at night. All the essentials are available on-site, including kayak and snorkeling gear rentals, which made exploring the area super convenient. One of the absolute highlights of our stay was the food. Sook Peng, Fred’s wife, is not only an incredible cook but also a truly warm and welcoming person. Sharing meals with her was a joy, and her cooking made every meal memorable. There are also cozy hammocks for relaxing, and the peaceful atmosphere made it easy to unwind. We couldn't recommend this place more highly—it's a rare gem built with heart and purpose. Oh, I was almost forgetting, both land and transport are organized by the Fred and Sook Peng and everything went super smooth! Terima kasih Fred and Sook Peng!

Set atop a 100 metre hill overlooking the Kinabatangan Forest Reserve, The Last Frontier Boutique Resort is located in Bilit, and is located a 2 hour drive from the beautiful Sandakan. Very nice Host Gert, thank you for this wonderful experience.

Bayu Senja Lodge features garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Kundasang. The lodge offers a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with free toiletries, a hairdryer and bidet. Amazing view with balcony overlooking southern mountains and hills from my room. Tidy & clean, with a decent restaurant on-site so not necessary to drive out to eat. Toiletries are sufficient. Thoughtful details in the room. Pleasantly surprised to find this in such a location.

Our stay in the Borneo Jungle Adventure lodge was nothing short of spectacular! From the seamless pick-up and drop-off from Sandakan to the incredible activities arranged by the lodge, every detail was perfect. The lodge itself was well-equipped and comfortable, and we were thrilled to find reliable WiFi in the common area. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the river cruises, expertly guided by Linda and her team. Their knowledge and dedication were evident, and they went above and beyond to ensure we saw the best wildlife the region has to offer, including the elusive Big 5. Linda's passion and expertise truly enhanced our experience, making each cruise an adventure to remember. A special mention goes to the food – the best Malaysian home-cooked meals we’ve ever had! The lodge graciously accommodated our vegetarian request, and every meal was a delightful culinary experience. This stay comes highly recommended for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the beauty of Borneo's jungle while enjoying excellent hospitality and thrilling wildlife adventures.
