Located in LʼÎle-Rousse, a few steps from Digue Beach, RESIDENCE SANTA MARIA has accommodations with a garden, free private parking and a terrace. Amazing customer service, especially helpful on check-in and check-out days. We arrived early with a ferry and were already given a room at 7.40am, which was a great surprise! On departure day, we had a late evening ferry and we were offered convenient storage for our luggage and access to a fully equipped shower including towels. The studio was modernly furnished, with all appliances rather new. The bed was really big and comfortable; the bathroom had a good size, especially the shower; the kitchen well equipped with all basic utensils and appliances. Good aircon that was also surprisingly quiet. It was a quiet room, despite being in front of a car park and a station (trains end at 8pm and start again only at 8.30am). Very convenient to be so close to the ferry port and the train station for travel. The town and the beautiful city beach were less than 10 minutes away.

A visit to the old city is definitely worth while. Be prepared though for a steep climb if you are making your way up from the harbour. Take a Corsican beer or an ice cream on the main square right across from the church and observe the crowd. Do not miss to visit the "L'Orriu" which has an amazing selection of Corsican charcuterie and other local products. Some of the restaurants have terraces with splendid views across the bay. If you want to got to the beach Palombaggia is the place to go. It is nicely located under pine trees and is still a very "virgin" beach. We were in Porto-Vecchio off season. With the streets being very narrow and limited parking space availability it is likely that moving around the city in July / August may be somewhat of a challenge.
Cozy small town well situated along the west coast of Corsica. Recommended to have a car which allows for truly great excursions to many wonderful places along the coast; including beautiful sandy beaches and spectacular mountains.
Ajaccio has little to recommend it . The traffic is the worst I have seen in years and the parking possibilities are essentially non-existent. While the historic center is quite nice (without being especially striking), the rest of the city is comprised of ugly, concrete, Soviet-style apartment blocks, many under construction, which just adds to the terrible road conditions. The downtown shopping area is overrun with the thousands of 6-hour stay folks pouring off the 1-3 cruise ships that are in port each day. The Maison Bonaparte is very interesting but you need to get there right at opening time to avoid looooonnnnng lines. The impressively-sited citadel is a run-down and apparently abandoned former army facility surrounded by barbed wire, and full of litter and donkey poop. What a wasted opportunity for the city! The history museum - which might be interesting - was closed indefinitely. My recommendation - spend your time in the mountains and elsewhere in Corsica. If you have to be here, go out west to the Iles Sanguinaires - beautiful.
San Gavino di Carbini is ideally located in the Alta Rocca of Corsica. A beautiful village with a beautiful church with wonderful views of the surrounding area. The local population was very friendly towards us on our walks around the village. We very much enjoyed our stay here, and look forward to a return visit!
Corsica is expensive for everything. Car hire essential as no trains in South and buses pretty invisible. Beaches beautiful but out of reach without vehicle. Mountain villages including the famed Zonza were disappointing
Bastia is a charming coastal town in northern Corsica. We enjoyed stunning views, lovely rock beaches, warm hospitality, and delicious local products.
Not pretty despite the port/ beach location. No charm. No there there.... the old city was focused on tourism... shop after shop of beach clothing and Corsica souvenirs. Unremarkable cuisine.
Ajaccio and Bastia are the two biggest cities in Corsica. So it has a lot of history especially surrounding Napoleon. It's a good place to do a two night stop and then move on to other parts of Corsica. Chez Paulo was a good lunch stop near Napoleon's house. The little train is a good way to see Napoleons grotto.
We expected a charming hilltop town and beautiful views like most of Corsica. We found the area dry, unimpressive, with a tiny old town center and not much else. The drive to Restonica was beautiful but not really worth going to Corte. There are too many other beautiful places in Corsica!
I lived here for a time and recently went back to visit, and it is exactly the same: beautiful, intimate, wonderful. It has a quasi-city feel without the hassle of the city. It has beautiful mountain and water views, and there's always somewhere to go and something to do. Just a word of warning, summer is the best time to go; a lot of places shut down during the winter and Corsican weather in the winter can get cold and rainy.
We loved our stay at this hotel so much. It is a truly 5-star hotel but with no pretentiousness, which allowed us just to relax and enjoy the beautiful experience. All the staff were incredible - polite, kind and very helpful. Our room with patio was beautiful and comfortable, the bed was huge, the products in the bathroom were amazing. The pool area is so beautiful and the breakfast had so many delicious choices. The nearby beach is beautiful and the overall location is great to explore southern Corsica. We will be so happy to come back.
Hotel situated in a small village of Tizzano, 20 min drive from the main road. A perfect place to rest and relax, as it is calm and quiet. Comfortable and clean room with a beautiful terrasse (or a balcony) with a sea view. The closest beach is 10 min walk. Very friendly staff (and owners) sharing all the practical information about nearby places to visit and nice restaurants and helping with any other practical aspect to make your stay unforgettable. Nice breakfast in the morning, and possibility of Corsican apero in the evening.
Porto Ota
Hotel in a lovely place, one of the most beautiful areas of Corsica. Our first night we enjoyed the sunset at the pebble beach and explored the village. The second day we went on a boat trip to Capo Rosso, a place we hiked to the same afternoon after a 30 min drive up via Calanques de Piana. The hotel had nearly all facilities we could have wished for. They also offer a parkingplace in the garage when you book. So you don't have to worry about finding a spot. The view from the balcony was just like the pictures, wonderful.
We had a wonderful time at Hotel Continental. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They even treated my husband and me to a bottle of champagne as we were celebrating our honeymoon. Such a kind surprise! Our room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was perfect for exploring Bastia and taking buses to the airport as well as other places in Corsica (like Saint Florent and the beaches!) We are so grateful to the staff for making our time in Bastia so wonderful!
Algajola
Very nice staff, management and owner. Nicely decorated, practical apartments fully equipped with a modern kitchen. Family friendly yet chic. Wonderful beach a 2 minute stroll from the hotel. Excellent restaurants in & around Algajola. This place reminds me of Camps Bay, South Africa but with a more pleasant water temperature. Super EV friendly place with Type2 as well as standard power outlets made available. Without a doubt the best accommodation during our 15 day road trip around Corsica 😃👍
Ajaccio
I loved the room, bathroom, and common area. The whole apartment is sparkling clean and the A/C worked very well. The Rosie has to be commanded for the friendliest welcome! Françoise was so nice! She gave me great tips about the area and really made sure I had all I needed and more. The whole Rosie family is wonderful and I can’t thank them enough for making my first days in Corsica so welcoming. Merci, merci, merci! I really appreciated all you did!
The hotel is very beautiful. We got there early and were allowed to already get into our room. The building is a beautiful mix between old walls and modern infrastructure. We slept in three hotels in corsica, and we had by far the best night sleep in this hotel: comfortable bed, true darkness at night a functional airconditioning that is truly silent at night. Furthermore it was close to the city center, so ideal for exploring ajaccio a bit.
We stayed at this hotel during the first two nights of our trip around Corsica. The hotel is located between the city and the airport. The historic centre of Bastia is a 30 minute walk. Hotel rooms are nice and clean, although ours only had a small window that overlooked a parking lot (I expect that there are some rooms that overlook the sea). I liked the restaurant that served nice Corsican dishes, and its terrace in the front yard.
Great breakfast in a very nice setting outside in the shade near the pool. The room size is also brilliant and the bathroom is laid out wonderfully with separate sink, toilet, and shower areas. A bonus is that the car can be parked in an abundance of space close to the apartment. It all felt very Corsican, which is I am sure what most people want. Air conditioning was as expected, despite not spending much time in the room.
I came to Corsica to hike the GR20. This Hotel is in Calvi . Near the beginning of the trail. The Hotel serves a great breakfast and offers full dinners. The staff is extremely helpful and the Hotel is perfectly located to enjoy Calvi’s beautiful beach and shopping and dining options. A great place, I stayed 2 days at the beginning of my vacation a 2 days at the end. I can highly recommend this hotel.
I must highlight two things which we really like. At the first breakfast (I recommend to order a breakfast, because they were really good - Corsican ham, cheese, fresh bread and also some Corsican jam - all of very good quality, not some cheap food). Secondly the Hotel has a good location - quite close to the old town, but not so close so you will be disturbed at night by night life.
Porto-Vecchio
Everything! The location was perfect. They have everything you’d need. Three pools. A full kitchen etc. it was very comfortable and a beautiful location. Easy five minute drive in to Porto Vecchio and near the nicest beaches in Corsica. We particularly liked Santa Giulia. The service and hotel owner was also very accommodating and helpful. We look forward to returning next year!
Charming hotel with an amazing pool, 10 minutes walk from one of the best beaches of all Corsica. Really nice breakfast full of homemade local products as well as in the restaurant. Ultimately the highlight for us was the service, Tiffany and her team were extremely helpful, kind, always with a smile and ready to fulfill any requests. We’ll definitely go back!
Bonifacio
Sensational apartment in a rare nature setting near the beautiful town of Bonifacio in Corsica. The staff was very sweet and friendly; we were even allowed to charge our car at no additional cost! Breakfast was great, the walking distance to Bonfacio was about 45 min along the wild coast line - spectacular! Will never forget this one and definitely come back!
located up on a hill overlooking the main town. A very nice hotel with a pool and breakfast option. It is very hard to reach from the train station if using Maps software as they route you up a non paved rocky road, that is almost like going hiking. and if you have luggage, good luck. Try to take a taxi, but they are hard to find and expensive in Corsica.
Wonderful, authentic, and delightful experience at Chez Marie for the one night I was there. Fun vintage hotel design, comfortable beds, friendly staff, dinner service was one of the best we had in our two weeks in Corsica. Lovely breakfast as well. Close to beautiful beaches along the east coast. A unique experience, highly recommend and hope to return.
Nice location in "the midst of it all" in a pedestrian zone which one can access by car to drop off luggage using a QR code that the hotel sends before arrival. Despite being in the midst of Ajaccio, the street facing room was quiet to sleep in. Nicely air conditioned. A relaxing stay in a super central part of Corsica's capital.
The hotel is very nice with a beautiful pool, gorgeous settings, comfortable and large rooms. Excellent breakfast. The staff is there to help with your stay and offer advice. Beach is a 10 minutes walk. you can also drive to the beach instead. The hotel is located next to the most beautiful beach on corsica
I can to Corsica to hike the GR20. Reportedly Europe’s toughest hike . When I successfully completed my hike I was grateful to stay at such a great little hotel. They have a wonderful backyard patio where they serve breakfast and complete dinners and drinks. With a wood fired pizza oven. Great little place!
One of the most beautiful beaches in Corsica. Apartment had a stunning view and you could enjoy beautiful sunsets every day. Very nice staff, free SUP and bicycles. Breakfast was very good and we highly recommend the cocktails that are mixed to perfection!
