Mulhouse is a great place to stay when visiting Alsace, it's close to the Basel Mulhouse airport, it's rail station is within walking distance from any hotel, as is the centre, with it's terraces, restaurants, and shops. Strasbourg, Colmar, Altkirch are all within an hour's distance via train. People are very friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed, plenty museums, a very coquette market with great local produce, good public transport, really difficult to find any downsides.
Colmar is nice they have a little venice area, the old town is excellent, like that very much. The Alsace Houses are very interesting to be seen around the old town, thumbs up 👍 Also the restaurants are nice, locals are helpful eventhough with very limited english and even didn't at all but they are very kind, thanks 🙏 I will be back again one day, greetings from Indonesia
A beautiful walk around the city can delight the eyes, the spirit and the stomach, as the food and wine in alsace is simply amazing. Watch a light show on the Cathedral, visit the historical center, leave some time to visit the art museum too.
Strasbourg is a great introduction to Alsace Lorraine. It could pass for a German city, but the French wines, cuisine, coffee, pastries, and street signs convince visitors that they are in France. The city provides a great place to walk, walk along the waters, and enjoy the local restaurants. It serves as a great base for visiting Colmar, Germany, Nancy, and the Alsace Wine Route towns (Obernai, Selestat, ...). The city has a great airport and solid SNCF connections to the rest of France.
Live like a fairy tale in alsace. I think it's the most beautiful town in Alsace. There are many cute shops and restaurants to hop around. If you have a tight schedule in Alsace, pick Colmar to stay. It's cozy and lovely and quite lively than any other villages. I visited 'Avenue d'Alsce' shop, and falled for the storytelling of all the motifs in Alscace's designs. We love to spend time here to chillax.
Hard to forget somewhere so magical -a candy colored houses ,flowers spilling out from literally everywhere ,delicious cuisine -the most idyllic and idiosyncratic of regions in France -wherever you go in Alsace ,you won't ever regret .
Nice little place in the middle of Strasbourg and Colmar. In the heart of Alsace, as a base to get around to visit anything you wanna see. The apartment was amazing.
This is a beautiful medieval Alsace town. It is one of the loveliest villages in France and has received the "4 flower rating" for the past few years. A very walkable village with lovely half timbered houses all with eautiful flowers decorating their windows, quaint streets and churches with stork nests perched on top of the bell towers! For wine lovers the wine shops were well stocked and had some very nice wines. The restaurant and hotel where I stayed were right in the center of town and both were lovely. There is no train service so this village is off the main tourist wine route and is only visited through special tours or via car. Eguisheim is a true gem along the Alsace wine route and well worth visiting.
Strasbourg is probably the most beautiful city in France, or among the top ones. Forget Paris. This city has such charme and allure with fascinting history and architecture, a splendid cathedral and great food. Lots to see and don't forget to take a boat ride in the canals, visit "la petite France" and go see the view at the "barrage vauban". great spot to go see Alsace and many sight in Germany
I took the Colmar- The cultural heart of the Alsace tour by Blackforestandbeyond LTD and it was amazing got insight to all kinds of things that were not on the travel guide.
Kaysersberg
What a gem! This apartment is the ideal place to stay when exploring the Alsace region. It is clear that a great deal of time, thought and love was put into every detail. The decor in the apartment is stylish, unique, and functional. It is well equipped with modern amenities but also full of local charm. The host was very friendly and informative. He met us personally upon our arrival and gifted us a bottle of local wine. I highly recommend this property and will definitely stay here again the next time I’m visiting the area.
Friendly staff who went out of their way to make our stay pleasurable. Excellent location in the center of town. Room was small, but sufficient. Would have been nice to have a refrigerator in the room to store our perishable purchases (hint). Didn't choose the additional breakfast, but did have coffee which was good. As the Rathaus (next to the hotel) is currently getting a facelift parking was more difficult though manageable. All in all a very nice stay in a town that we never miss when touring through Alsace.
We loved everything about our stay, and can't wait to come back someday! Such a beautiful and well-maintained chateau, we loved our room, bathroom, walking the grounds, and relaxing and sipping Alsatian wine on the back patio behind it. Breakfast had everything we could want for a stay in France, and we were happy that it was an easy walk to town to grab dinner if we didn't feel like driving. A great place to stay while you explore the lower part of the Alsace Wine Road like we were. Thank you for having us!
Riquewihr
Excellent traditional apartment well equipped with everything you could need to self cater. Washing machine a bonus. Location exceptional in heart of small village, but very quiet when windows closed. Views are enchanting. Close to all amenities and village is well placed to explore Alsace region. We couldn't fault the apartment or the staff who engaged well, despite language difference. Secure parking a short distance away. Would highly recommend to anyone who is lucky enough to visit this great region
Colmar
The place is perfectly clean! The owner is very nice and accommodating. He had a welcome gift by the cute Christmas tree. The gift bag had bottles of Alsace Wine and apple juice, and a fragrant mini candle that smells so perfect the Christmas season. His apartement has all the facilities and supplies you need if you want to cook, and laundry. The beds are very comfortable and the entire apartment is warm and cozy. A perfect place to stay in Colmar because it’s steps away from Petite Venice.
Ribeauvillé
Great location, easy to visit the Alsace Wine Route from here. It was pleasure to stay in a beautifully restored apartment. The hosts obviously built out this space with much love & care. Every attention to detail was made for our comfort. It was clean and very well equipped. There’s plenty of parking very close to the apartment. Lots of small touches to make you feel at home. Everything was of first class quality & generous quantity. We would stay here again.
Excellent Hotel, the staff is extremely nice and professional. Rooms with enough space for a couple. You can start your day enjoying every morning a delicious breakfast, included for all guests, is plenty and quality. The location is good but not so close to City Centre, maybe around 25 minutes walking. When you visit Colmar, try to rent a car, this way will be easiest and fastest in order to enjoy Alsace and all the beautiful and amazing small villages in the area
Mulhouse
I had a stop on my way to southern France to visit the very nice car museum which is definitely worth a visit (while Mulhouse seemed like one of the less attractive towns in Alsace to me). Spacious and clean rooms, friendly staff, central location and a parking lot. The hotel is a shared place with a senior citizen's home which I wasn't fully aware of when booking but this didn't bother me at all for the time I stayed there.
Mulhouse
Location is really good. We stayed for 3 nights ans traveled to Strasbourg and Colmar for a day. It is close to train station and flixbus stop. It is 10 mins by walking but you can use the tram if you want. We stayed at apartment 4. It was mini duplex apartment. The building was Laurence’s family house. I like to places has a real stories We felt like at home for 3 days in Mulhouse. I would like to stay again if I travel to Alsace.
Colmar
Big spacious 2 bedroom apartment on a large block of land that's walking distance to the old town. Good supermarket and bakeries only a few minutes walk. Well equipped kitchen and has good wifi. The owner lives on the premises and was most welcoming, even provided a complimentary bottle of local wine on our arrival. Carpark provided on site. Great place to base yourself to explore the Alsace region by car.
Mulhouse
Strategic location to visit the best of Alsace by train or car rental, both available 5 minutes walking from the apartment. Fully equipped kitchen with new tools. Very comfortable for large families, up to 4 children (we were 2 adults+3kids). Supermarket and city centre very very close. Very good tram connections to the wonderful Automobile and Train museums. Quick and effective communication with the owner.
The location of the hotel was quite fine. It was so close to Petite Venice and Grand Rue but really far to the train station because of the distance between the city center and gare. It was nearly 5 minutes to Petite Venice De Colmar, 20 minutes to train station. The room is little bit small but pretty but the bathroom is old. The breakfast if fine comparing to the other hotels that I stayed in Alsace.
Eguisheim
The house is located in a beautiful and quiet place just 300 meters away from the center of Eguisheim. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and Alsace traditional cake. The place is perfect for family stay. Apartments are spacious and comfortable. Actually, in real life, it looks even better than on the pictures. Thank you Christine, Thierry and Jules for your hospitality! We had a great time.
Thannenkirch
The location is great, very close to the castle and a woods nearby for trekking. View from apartment is amazing. Apartment and kitchen is very well equipped and convenient, even at some small details. The host is very kind and helpful. Very easy to recover and return the keys. Love the experience and my kids ask to go back to the same apartment next time we visit Alsace again!
The continental-style breakfast was quite good, particularly the locally-produced baguettes. It's a very quiet, modest and comfortable location that could be no closer to the hiking trails leading to the noted "Trois Chateaux" overlooking Ribeauville, and those that connect to the trail system that wind through the Vosges Mountains in the Eastern Alsace region.
Kaysersberg
The apartment was superb. Beautifully presented - comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean. Remy and Helene were wonderful hosts, kind and generous, nothing was too much for them. The freshly baked croissants and pastries each morning were wonderful! We would highly recommend staying at Gite les oiseaux if you are visiting the Kayserberg region of Alsace.
Great location! Extremely helpful staff - especially front desk (if I return it will be due to them). Front desk was super helpful in telling me about where to go on Alsace Wine Road. Some of them are very knowledgeable. Front desk was also very helpful during check-in and finding place for parking.
Good central location and thus easy to get out in Obernai, good breakfast with many options, staff are friendly and helpful in finding possible places to eat in Obernai, good parking option close to the hotel. Definitely a hotel we will use next time the trip goes to Alsace.
We loved the location, little pool and sauna. Hotel was super clean and breakfast was good. Views of vines around hotel and town were lovely. It was a short walk to town and fantastic location to explore other Alsace towns. Kouglopf and Cie boulangerie was superb!
Katzenthal
Hotel worth price! Nice breakfast and friendly people. Accommodation is located in beautiful small town in Alsace. You can have a nice little walk. You can go to several Restaurant by foot. There are several wineries where you can buy local nice wines as well.
