The location is very good. Just opposite the beach. The place is quiet and covered by greenery. One can hear the birds singing every morning.

Beautiful property tucked away with its own private little beach and boulders. Facilities are pretty basic, but the view more than made up for it for us.

Ok, I will try to write as honest as a review as I can… because this really was a mixed experience for us. So let’s start fr the good - the hotel is pretty, there are lots of trees and beautiful beach near by, the rooms are huggggge and in general, I would say it fits a 3 star hotel rating. Now the bad - even though it’s a pretty hotel and I know the staff were trying to help out when they could - we can tell this resort wasn’t well maintained. The breakfast was very unexcited, with very few options. The seating is outdoors and there were only 2-3 floor fans - we were so hot at every meal, that we had to bring our own fan to breakfasts. The lobby is also outdoors with no fans whatsoever! Very strange to have an outdoor lobby at such a hot country and not install ceiling fans or at least add a few floor fans. The biggest issue was the location. It is very far from everything… and the hotel only has 1 van that is often busy and you have to wait forever for them to drive you. And for some odd reason, they won’t order a regular taxi for you! Every van ride is about 300-500 baht and it got really expensive to leave the hotel. The rooms are huge but the AC are old and don’t always work well. There are also a lot of mosquitoes that ever daily and it just feels like a once beautiful hotel that is now run down and mis-managed. Honestly, I have writing bad reviews and I do want to emphasize that in general, it’s a cute hotel with lots of potential- if only it were better maintained and perhaps had more staff.

Phangan Utopia Resort is located on top of a hill at Hadd Thong Lang Bay. The resort offers an outdoor pool, free WiFi, a bar and a restaurant.

What’s not to like? The sea view villa, if you’re lucky enough to get one is so lovely, simple, neat and beautiful views. The Utopia team are so welcoming and accommodating and always willing to help and assist. I will always come back as long as there is availability.

This is a gorgeous property with bungalows directly on the beach. I had a poolside room in a different section of the property in a very well manicured tropical garden. I may be wrong, but it seems these rooms are a bit newer than the more rustic looking bungalows, though I didn’t see the inside of those. My bed was very comfortable and the room had a lovely balcony with a table and chairs which was nice to sit at in the evenings. The infinity pool is absolutely gorgeous and is surrounded by gardenia trees you can smell as you walked through the garden and swim in the pool. I heard from one of the staff that this hotel is over 40 years old, but it is not shabby or over developed. The beach front is absolutely gorgeous and spacious - lined with lots of shade bearing palms and a lovely beach front restaurant/bar that lights up at night with quirky colorful lights. The service is slow, but the food is decent and the staff good natured and kind. It’s the perfect place to sit and gaze at the sunset or just hang out at night and have a drink. I will definitely return to this quiet section of Koh Pha-ngan next time I come to the island!

A nice place to stay for a couple of nights around Mae Haad beach (which is great btw). Just a regular guesthouse, like many others, but definitely a good one.

"Family" room on the beach had super nice beach view, strong aircon and WiFi, came with mat (appreciated) and broom and other essentials. We were there for about 20 hours starting about 4pm and didn't hear ANY music or other sounds, just lovely ocean waves (and occasional bark from many dogs that live on the beach). Contrast that with the northern Thong Nai Pan beach, which unfortunately has annoying loud live and recorded music. Soft white sand beach.
