We had the "Superior Double Room with Sea View" and loved the fantastic views and the high ceilings. The room was immaculately clean and the bed very comfortable. The guest house has really nice common areas particularly outside in the courtyard. Paula was an awesome host. She let us check in early, and let us leave our luggage for the afternoon after checking out. She gave us some great suggestions for things to see and places to eat. The location was very convenient - very close to a lot of great restaurants and attractions.

Valparaiso is a lovely artistic town. We enjoyed our day there. The area of Valparaiso we stay in was very walkable, although you can call for a cab for going further out. We enjoyed our stay at Casa California and the area around it. We ate at a little Cafe, Maria, Maria for breakfast on Beethoven Street, just a few hundred feet from Casa California. And you can take photos of the piano steps and walk up them. We had dinner at a bar and restaurant just up the hill and around the corner, a block or so over. We also had dessert at a cafe across the road from there.

Valparaiso is a vibrant colorful mountainous coastal town which we really enjoyed. There were several hillside dining options with fantastic views of the port town. Color murals painted on the buildings and walkways throughout town were fantastic, and added to the overall vibe of the city.

Cool city with an artistic vibe, lots of street art, young and older music artists etc.
Had a guided tour around and would recommend that to get a full view of the old-part of the city.
Also check out the live-music scene, had a great experience going out to their live-music bars/ open mic gig and it was high level.
I did not experience any bad, but they say don’t go alone home at night, it can be a problem with theft.

Not much to see, just quite a lot of beatiful grafiti, some vintage "ascensors". Beaches are quite far away.
But the city itself is downright filthy and not very safe. Many locals told us. Some MF took my girlfriend's cell phone and ran away. I chased him and got the phone back, but when I caught him he reached under the t-shirt probably holding a gun. I only had a knife so I gave up my vengeance. Be very careful even during the day!

Valparaíso is a beautiful place with very nice streets with loads of art. It’s has also nice beaches quite close. If you enjoy being on a beach a few days, it’s a good place for a few days more. If you don’t like to spend days at the beach, 2 days are enough, in my opinion.
The Restaurant „la casa verde“ was my favorite restaurant. The food and the pisco sour have been very delicious and the staff was very kind.
Fabulous location; gorgeous views (we booked the balcony room on the top floor, which arguably has the best view in Valparaiso. We visited in winter and can highly recommend keeping the blinds open to be gently woken up by the sunrise through the floor-to-ceiling windows); sleek and modern but comfortable and very fitting design; perhaps the kindest, friendliest and most accommodating staff we’ve met yet in Chile (and that’s saying something, as everyone is delightful!) - honestly cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
This is a beautiful classical old building, lovingly restored in a perfect location. It has the most exquisite gardens & terraces tumbling down the hillside with terraces to enjoy the fabulous view. The room was large with exceptionally high ceilings, a very smart bathroom and a perfect bay window with magnificent views across the magical Valparaiso bay.
Some of the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful - even going to the lengths of collecting our luggage from our former hotel - very much appreciated. Thank you
This hotel is well located in a quiet section of Valparaíso. A few minute walk to Cerro Alegre. The staff is excellent ;they are warm, friendly, professional, responsive, welcoming. Breakfast is great. Beds are quite comfortable. The hotel is clean. The view of Valparaíso harbor is beautiful, especially at night from the terrace. This hotel is reasonably priced. It was a great choice. We plan to stay again when visiting Valparaíso.
This is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. The room was clean and comfortable and we upgraded to room 6 which had a stunning view of the bay. The folks working at the hotel were so kind and helpful. They helped to arrange an early breakfast (which was great!) to accommodate our departure and also helped arrange private transport to the airport which alleviated some stress for us. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Rene is an incredible host. He takes a lot of time to make sure the check in and check out process is smooth. He even helped us with transport back to Santiago when we were stuck on new years day. As for the accommodation, it is as described- safe, secure and clean. Breakfast in the morning was lovely. I will definitely be recommending B&B La Nina to anyone travelling to Valparaiso.
Very good hotel, the facilities are great. The room is spacious. Hostal has a beautiful patio. The owners are very kind, ready to help and hospitable.
The hotel is located in a countryside in a quite region. it is a bit far from the city centre, but it is easily accessible with busses or community taxi and takes about 15 minutes drive from the centre.
Me and my brother travelled for 5 weeks in Chile and this is the best place we've been! The hosts are amazing, very kind and open to all questions. The room and beds were perfect, simple and clean. The place also has a rooftop lounge where you have an amazing view over the city. In my eyes this is the perfect hostel.
It was a lovely boutique hotel (a converted old three-story home), with wonderful staff, and a tremendous view of the sea from the third floor terrace. The breakfast was varied, delicious and well presented. The location was in an interesting area of Valparaiso. I would definitely stay here again.
What an eclectic & wonderful hotel! Quirky but fantastic - everything worked well and it was a truly magnificent place to stay.
The restaurant in the evening was simply brilliant - the set menu and Happy Hour cocktails were the best we’ve had in Chile.
Don’t miss out on- book a room.
A very different hotel based on its construction. The customer service is excellent, all the staff go out of their way too help and ensure you get the most out of travelling to Valparaiso. The wine tastings and the owners knowledge of wine have to be mentioned as a real positive.
Hotel with nice and unusual concept. Nice suite with great view> Room clean, bathroom needs some help and step not marked resulting in a fall. Breakfast ok but staff busier chatting than to serve and was ignored. Error made on billing and offered a bottle of wine.
Really quaint old wooden house typical of Valparaiso. Very clean throughout. Staff so helpful even lending Chilean Peso’s in case we wanted to use the funicular. Very accommodating to our early breakfast request. Would have liked to have stayed longer.
Great hotel with an awesome staff. They have private parking so that was great for us. Wifi was also great when we had to use it while resting from getting to know all the cool spots Valparaiso has to offer. In general, Ultramar was a great hotel.
Everything was perfect, the owners and the staff were fantastic. Exceeded our expectations!!! I will recommend this boutique hotel to anyone traveling to Valparaiso.
Thank you for an unforgettable New Year's Eve!
The entire hotel is beautifully designed and we loved the location in the heart of Valparaiso. The hosts also go above and beyond on the breakfast in the morning and answering any questions of the guests.
Great location in a traditional home turned hostel in Valparaiso. We had a room with a private terrace and it had a nice view of the hills. The breakfast was fine, but could be better.
Best place ever in chile, the place is cloth to the center, the breakfast is really good, the boss and the staff and the cat josephin😉 are really cool and creat a good atmosphere !
