Our stay was complicated by the ongoing strike which was having a significant effect, but people went out of their was to make our stay a success. Torshavn is not a great place for vegetarians with very limited choices, and unfortunately most restaurants had set menus with no a la carte. We went at the end of May, and as well as everything being shut on Sundays many bars were also shut on Monday and Tuesdays.

Small city, easy to walk around to get to places in the city, slippery in the winter, terrain is uphill and down hill sometimes but railings are everywhere. Really good restaurants like Aristova and Barbara.A lovely corner cafe and book store called Paname Supermarkets have nearly everything including GF breads.People are very friendly and help you if and when lost.Must visit the red houses!

It’s the town center of Faroe Islands.
It’s the town center of Faroe Islands. A charming town but not much to do. There are some good restaurants but the food was a bit on the pricy side, which is understandable considering they may be imported or flown from other places. Getting around the islands by car is fairly easy. It’s feasible to drive to the sightseeing spots on the map within a day, if no hiking is needed. Don’t miss the Mulafossur!

One of my favorite cities (and I've travelled a lot). It's the biggest city in the Faroe islands, yet the feeling is different compared to any city in other countries. Peacefull, well maintained beautiful city where you can find everything you need .
Lots of restaurants and bars around the harbour area, very easy to find orientate.

Lovely old town, cathedral with pretty garden and turf roves of parliament buildings. Can you find the ancient circle carved into the rock near the water.
Good Tourist Info with loo.
Lovely lunch in cafe set back from Main Street which also sold cheese.
Toasted sourdough sandwich……very nice.
Do visit National Art Gallery near cute wooded park with pond……if you can find it……best to ask!
This hostel is perfekt if you want to keep it simple for a low price: good location, good WiFi, ckeck-in at the hotel reception. Beeing able to make your own food is essential on the Faroe Islands since the food offer is limited, unless you don't mind living on pizza and burgers. The kitchen has stove and oven, freezers and fridges - even if the fridges have a strange smell. Useful kitchen-ware, water boiler and coffe maker. The beds were narrow, but ok comfortable. Sheets and towels are included in the price.
The hotel is conveniently located near town and all the major roads to adventure around the Faroes. The hotel staff was probably some of the nicest people I have ever encountered at a hotel reception. The food was delicious at the hotel restaurant, the beds were comfortable and clean, and I especially loved the separate shower (that was quite large) and toilet closet. I will be staying here again when I return to the Faroe Islands in September!
The unit is immaculately clean, super comfortable and has ample parking available steps away from the place. Alvur was friendly and responded immediately to any question; he also made sure I did not overpay. I cooled easily in the kitchen. I loved this place so booked one more night was the two I had planned. The walkable “downtown” part of Torshavn is 5 minutes by car.
Apartment fully furnished. Kitchen fully equipped - right down to sugar and salt provided. Can bake a cake, if you want to. Host was a wonderful soft spoken gentleman, with unique skill sets. Helpful to the end. Couldn't ask for a better start to the holiday in Faroe Islands. Not forgetting the pizza place just down the road - open until 5 am each day.
Location was easily walkable from center of Torshavn. Property overall was nice, fully functional kitchen, had a washer and dryer for use, warm shower, and was very clean. Clear check in instructions were sent. Wi-Fi worked great. Didn’t directly deal with any staff but they are very responsive through WhatsApp.
Self-catering and more than adequate. A microwave oven may have been the only suggestion I could make to the kitchen, and repairing the handle of the stove door.
Everything else was fine. Well presented, great location, easy to catch bus, and as the title suggests, a leisurely walk from the centre of Torshavn.
A charming traditional cottage with beautiful and functional interior design. Kitchen was beautiful and fully kitted and stocked. Hostess Sigrid was very friendly, helpful and communicative --- thanks again for sending our son's hat home by post! Overall, a delightful place to stay in Torshavn.
The location is perfect! A few minutes walk to the
centre of Tórshavn. It is in a nice and quit street
located. There is also a shop next to the hotel, so if
you want to get any things for during the day you
can get them there and off you go on an adventure.
Great apartment. Clean and modern with a well-equipped kitchen. Great views (weather permitting). Hosts live upstairs and were friendly and responsive. Location is very convenient to explore everywhere in the Faroe Islands. Parking space right outside.
The hotel is very central; you only have to walk 15 minutes to the central bus station and the ferry port. The communication was easy and June is very nice. Compared to other stays in Torshavn, the prize was very reasonable.
It was really nice and welcoming atmosphere at the minute you walked in to the hotel. The staff in the reception was really welcoming, nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel for your next stay in Torshavn.
Considering the Faroe Islands more generally, this is an exceptional hotel for the price and I was very impressed by the quality of the room. Would definitely stay here again if I were to come back :)
It is a large apartment, with all the amenities you need. Very well located and just a 10 min walk to the old part of Torshavn. It also had a parking space which was very convenient.
