Breakfast was wonderful and cooked to order along with a huge buffet. The staff was fantastic and served us port by the fire in the afternoon. The Lawrences was perfectly located as well.

The room was comfortable enough, a little dated with the orange carpet. The front staff was helpful and quite nice. Especially Ella. We didn’t have water the first hours of our stay but that is not the hotel’s fault.

There are many historical places in Sintra that can be reached on foot. if you go to the right of the historical museum you can find a small restaurant on the balcony where they bake bread in a wood-fired oven. unfortunately I forgot the name, but you can see the sign. Very charming.
And visit Long Beach and the restaurant near the rock and try octopus on the grill. Very recommended.

The roads are very tight, the crowds of visitors are intense and some of the locals working in local shops/restaurants are very rude and completely over having to deal with tourists. However, the views are amazing and the Moorish Castle was very cool. Difficult place to travel but worth it!

Sintra was a lovely town but I like Aveiro better especially the hotel we stayed in. The hike to the palace is not that hard. Proper hiking shoes and clothes should be worn. It is not a stroll through a park. You will be climbing up and down narrow stairs. Bring water.
The palace is beautiful!.

Very touristy and difficult to manage with a car. Quite pricy. Good food at Tascantiga though.
Pena palace was too busy to enjoy properly though the Moorish castle was great. Shame didn't have enough time to visit Quinta da Regaleira.

really beautiful city. if you have time, you can spend up to 5 days with enough interesting sightseeing to visit. the traffic is heavy so I recommend to take buses or walking because uber/bolts can take too long to arrive where you are.
the best was a hiking from Sinta Palace to the historical center, really nice views

Sintra is a very pleasant city with a small but bustling old town. Restaurants are very good for the money. Parking would be a nightmare so don't drive in for the day. (our hotel had parking) Pena Palace was beautiful, then was dow to the Moorish Castle. but in my opinion, the crown jewel was Quinta Regliera. Make sure to get tickets online in advance!
This is the oldest hotel in Iberia and full of character. The facilities at the Lawrence hotel are for those who truly want to experience the romantic old style upper class life of Sintra. Although the attached facilities are humble one has a room with the best view, central with walking distance to all family historic palaces. At the Lawrence try the lime risotto with sea bass with Colares wine for an awesome experience. The dinning room has a warm night view over the mountains and old houses.
This was the best accom we experienced during our stay in Portugal. The service was A+, the room was spotless and comfortable, breakfast was perfect (freshly baked bread!), the laundry service was excellent and fast, the view was out of this world, the location was ideal and parking was so easy (once we got it through to the traffic cop that Casa do Valle offered parking and it was OK to let us through). Would definitely recommend even to fussy travelers.
Very cleaned and stylish boutique hotels.
the room was small but everything was equipped and very well maintained.
Breakfast was amazing with vegan, gluten free meals.
if you decide to go to Azenhas do mar , stay here. You just need to walk 5-10 mins to go there anytime. Village is very safe to walk any time during Winter. From the city center of Sintra to hotel, it took 9-10 euro by Uber. But you can take bus as well (every 40 mins).
This was a huge apartment, with close proximity to the main areas of sintra. For us, it was a bonus that it wasn’t in the centre, and therefore close to free parking, since we had a rental car. Antonio was very helpful and gracious in helping us to get settled. Bedrooms were very comfortable, and we appreciated the space as this was our first night in Portugal after flying overseas, so it was a good spot to try and settle our jet lag.
This was a gem of a stay for me and my family. The boutique homes were so well decorated and had an amazingly warm and comfortable feel to it. The hosts Marco and Christina are one of the most humble people who just made us feel like family. They even made lovely breakfast for us and went out of their way to ensure that we had one of our most memorable experiences in Portugal.
Good location in Sintra for exloring the palaces. Great room with all necessary facilities. However, the biggest draw are the hosts who are amazingly helpful, provide a host of valuable information to a tourist and are generally very interesting people to talk to. This is the best thing there is in staying in small private-run hotels - meeting real people. A real pleasure.
Beautiful property designed and decorated with great taste and care to details. Free parking. Excellent staff. We stayed at a separate apartment which gives you more privacy. A small boutique hotel that met all our expectations; I wish we could have stayed longer. Good location, 20 minutes walk from
Old Sintra and out of the tourists craziness if you prefer that
The hotel location is perfect, a short walk to most sights in Sintra, near the center of activity but quiet at night. We drove our own car, parking was easy in front of the hotel. Desk staff was very helpful advising us about getting tickets, an Uber to the Palace of Pena, best times to visit various sights, etc. We would definitely stay there again!
Casa Holstein is a wonderful boutique hotel in a central position with beautiful gardens and surrounds, a swimming pool, and delightful attractive spotless rooms with great outlooks. The staff are very attentive and helpful, and the breakfast is superb! I have no hesitation in recommending this property and would definitely stay again!
The host was wonderful, providing a parking space for us, giving us tips on seeing the palaces and restaurant recommendations. The marbled bathroom was spacious and beautiful, while the bedroom area was warm and comfortable. We found the bedding to be among the best quality of our 20 day road trip through Portugal.
This hotel was the best one I stayed at my entire three week trip in Spain and Portugal! The room was gorgeous (three huge french windows and a massive mega comfy king size bed) and the hotel and grounds were also lovely. The breakfast was just the outstanding cherry on too. I would recommend this hotel to anyone
The hotel is in a great location. It’s a short distance from Centro Historico, so you have peace and quiet, but easy access to everything. Rui is a wonderful host. He is kind, thoughtful, helpful and efficient.
The breakfast is very good. The best one we have had so far at a B & B in Portugal.
Our hostesses were very hospitable and gave very clear indications of what to do and where to eat. The room was just what we needed and very clean. The interior in the common rooms made us feel like we were in a boutique hotel and the breakfast was sublime.
The Chalet overall was wonderful and my family rated Sintra as their favorite destination in Portugal. We loved the breakfast provided with the additional fee. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful in making the most of our short trip.
Wonderful boutique hotel within easy walking distance of the train station. Very charming and comfortable with very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was great as well. I would absolutely stay here again!
Charming old world hotel, simple and beautiful, lovely staff and excellent location for Sintra attractions. View to the Moors’ Castle from the terrace!
Reception and breakfast very decent.
