I can find nothing negative to say about Melk.

I can find nothing negative to say about Melk. We totally enjoyed our stay and all of the attractions that were easily accessible. We eat at local restaurants and the food was excellent. The train station was within walking distance. The river cruise to Krems was amazing. I would do it all again.

The Abbey is extraordinary and the surroundings are wonderful. The city is a whole story, full of a preserved history with great attention to detail. Very professional. Was easy to get around, no problems. We think to plan another trip to Melk in the near future.

Very nice small town. We really enjoyed the Abby tour. We also enjoyed the old downtown and all the sites and stores. We were there during the Christmas holiday break so some stores and restaurants were closed but that did no deter us. Would like to visit in the spring and summer.

Melk is a lovely touristic town, little shops, tiny streets, spectacular monestary and views. The area of Wachau has so much to offer and explore, I loved it and I will definitely return in a different season. The church is the centre of Melk is extremely welcoming, beautiful and joyful. Strongly recommended!

We only had to spend a Friday night in Melk but once arrived (although pretty late), we got out to take a walk. We were impressed by the tranquility of the old town's city center and had a very nice dinner at Venezzia Restaurant (if you don't have to, don't go to the bathroom there :)). We'll be back to visit the Abbey!

Melk abbey is spectacular and a must-see.

Melk abbey is spectacular and a must-see. The town is very pretty and a great place to wander around for an hour or two. There were some nice restaurants and bars, but many places were closed for the season (January). You can see the abbey and town in an afternoon, but there are other places in the surrounding countryside if you stay longer.

I had a very nice stay here. My room was very nice and clean. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was modern and very clean. Plenty of room with a small closet. Nice view of Abbey out my window. Breakfast was excellent. A good selection of meats, fruit, bread, cereal and beverages. The WiFi was very good. Great location only a couple of minutes from the town center and 5 minutes to train and bus station. The proprietor was wonderful. Fun to talk with and very helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Everything! We arrived very late due to flight cancellation. I informed the hotel by message. And was given very clear instructions on how to get the room key through lock box and where to park the car. The front desk lady, Ursula was so kind and helpful when we get to meet her the next morning. The location of the hotel is very good, Melk Abby is in front of you, we drived up, it take about 10 mins, free parking if you buy tickets. Room is with good size, comfortable bed. Quite.

Everything was great. We were originally given a code for the wrong apartment...but luckily were able to straighten out the mix up fairly quickly. Beds were comfy...and even the sofa beds were surprisingly comfy to sleep on. Communication was fantastic and they were understanding when I forgot to leave the cash payment for room tax (I was able to pay via paypal instead). Location in Melk is fantastic- central and within walking distance to most everything you want to see in Melk.

Thanks to the owner for letting us check-in early after we stopped by just to drop our luggage. She was very nice and helpful, you feel at home as you can use the terrace and the dinning area anytime and have coffee/chocolate and/or tea. The breakfast was the best breakfast we had in our 2 weeks in multiple places in Austria; everything fresh and Bio, coming from family business and local farms, we really enjoyed our stay.

Melk is a major tourist draw, and there are a lot of places to stay. We were very happy with this one. The building is very interesting, the location is outstanding with a view of the abbey from our window, it has a good restaurant and gelato on the street. room was spacious, architecturally interesting with arched ceilings, and well appointed. A repeater if we are ever back in Melk.

Old-fashioned little hotel on a good place and with great staff. We had a big room with wonderful view on Melk Monastery. The bed was very comfortable and the room was cleaned up. The great thing (for us) is that they accommodate pets, so we could come with our dog. :-) The breakfast is served in a different place nearby, but it is rich and tasty.

100% fit the bill as a comfortable, rural guesthouse at a reasonable price. Hosts were kind, room was clean and inviting and breakfast was excellent. The guesthouse is run with love and care. We enjoyed making ourselves tea in the evenings and going on quiet countryside walks around the little village. 5 minute drive into Melk.

The accommodation is located right in the heart of Melk, close to the Danube and the bus 720 stop. Also 2-3 minutes of walking from the train station. The Abbey is right about the B&B. I could even see it from the window :) The owner is a very nice person. Very flexible. Breakfast was exceptional. Homemade jam was delicious.

The staff is very kind and helpful. The breakfast is good especially the coffee is much better than the Austrian average. The location of the hotel is optimal, very close to attractions and quiet even at night. The parking lot behind the hotel is public, very cheap, but there is no guarantee that there will be a free space.

Melk is a splendid small town on a Danube, with impressive Melk Abbey on a hill right above old town of Melk. Abby is worth visiting, it is amazing. Apartment is in central part of an old town, newly decorated, spotlessly clean. Self check in works excellent.
