The room was very comfortable, beautiful. It had everything we needed. We could even have room service, which we didn't. I really liked the way to communicate. Hopkins is a linear village maybe 7 miles long paralleling the sea. There are some high end resorts but local guest rooms predominate. Residents never failed to assist us in finding taxis, food stores or support services. The food was excellent whether it was consumed in a resturant, local bar or kitchen hut. Bicycles are very helpful in getting around. We found a really nice mix of folks. Don't miss the Garifuna music and food.

Hopkins is a small, rural town - one paved road that goes the length of the town plus a few unpaved roads. So, if you are looking for a small beach town with very friendly people, Hopkins may be for you. There is a good grocery store and several good dining options. Hopkins was a great home base for us for a few days as we explored a couple national parks in the area.

Peaceful, out of the way. Needed to rent a golf cart for greater variety of dining and grocery shopping but that is what our family likes. Very low key place. People are very kind and friendly. Quiet place to relax and enjoy the beach.

Hopkins Bay Smoky Bar & Grill (Barbara and Richard) were super kind! Maxim's gave us great deals too. Ella's and Driftwood were popular spots. Nice Cream was delicious. Rhum Shack at the resort were delicious. We could walk everywhere! We rented a car to get from BZE to Hopkins, which helped a lot so we could travel to other places. Loot at Erik and Luis' Maayan Ruin/Cave Tubing on Viator (1:30 hour drive). I suggest Seahorse Dive Shop about 1:20 hours away for scuba diving/snorkeling, too.

The helpful and friendly staff made our stay enjoyable.

The helpful and friendly staff made our stay enjoyable. We always looked forward to the fresh catch of the day for dinner, especially the lobster Thermidor. My wife and I liked the closeness to the beach and pool and the size of the complex which was only 19 three unit buildings, and the ratio or staff to guests. We went on two excursions, one to the Mayan ruins and one horseback riding in the rain forest. Both were well worth the trip.

Too expensive with very little to offer. This is good for people who plan to just chill and not do much. Go south (closer to the Jaguar Reef area) for better waters and restaurants, but be prepared to spend lots

Edwin was gracious and helpful. Hopkins is a small community that stretches along 5? miles of coast. We traveled without a car so we were dependent on taxis and bicycles. Buses were four miles out of town. Edwin and local residents graciously helped arrange taxis as we lacked phone coverage. Hopkins offers a wide variety of housing and food price points. Our meals never disappointed. Like much of Belize we lived with the ever present dust in the dry season. We enjoyed learning about and experiencing aspects of the unique Garifuna culture.

Our first night was a little rough as the ac was making a huge noise. When we mentioned it to the staff, we were moved to another villa immediately and was give a complimentary breakfast and dinner. The staff were extremely friendly and responded to all our queries. There is free shuttle services to the village, lovely drivers. Reception and guest services were on point. The food was really delicious, even though they were out of salad. Breakfast menu was very good.

This is a delightful, boutique-style hotel right on the beach. We woke up to the Caribbean Sea outside our door each morning. It was paradise! The restaurant here is high-quality, under chef Rob (be sure to make reservations for dinner!) We had delicious dinners and breakfasts every day. The staff are exceptional -- SO friendly and eager to help with any need or question you may have. There are free kayaks and paddle boards for guest use.

This room was steps from the beach! Amazing views but what made it special was the friendly staff. They checked on us daily. There was a power surge which took out the AC so the host moved us to an upgraded room for the remainder of the stay. Over and above hospitality. Located in Hopkins central to several restaurants and activities. The Coconut Husk Restaurant have the best Fry Jacks in Belize!

Great little hostel nicely situated in Hopkins, perfect for a few days at the beach or snorkelling. Emma, the owner, is incredibly friendly and helpful about what to do in the area. In case you have a motorcycle license, she can take you on a tour of the area on some hot wheels. There's a spacious rooftop terrace too, and the hammock up there will become your best friends!

We loved everything about this resort! The staff were so friendly and helpful, really appreciated the tour of the resort when you check in. The grounds are beautiful and the beach is amazing! Resort is clean, even has a washer/dyer in the room (which was very helpful). Enjoyed our stay. Great location, quiet but still close to the village. We'd definitely go back again!

Angel is literally the best! We asked so many questions, and he was so helpful and kind. I got stung by a jellyfish and right away he got vinegar and poured it on the sting haha! He got us taxi when we needed, recommended us great eats, and was very accommodating. Would definitely stay here again!

Staff were fantastic and really aimed to be helpful! And waking up right next to the trails was a fantastic way to beat the heat. Also, this area is fairly isolated, I had the waterfalls all to myself until about noon! Hotel restaurant was excellent, albeit quite pricey.

Great host, our cable wasn't working and Angel tried very hard to fix it. Loved the location of the cabins. Had a power outage one night nothing to do with the hotel. Angel was informative about the situation. We were glad to be on the beach with the breeze.
